I’m surprised Kimi wasn’t mentioned. In 2005 & 2007 they were fighting for the championship.
Alonso's greatest rival - His contract choices
This is really funny but also really sad if you think about it.

His number 1 rival should have been the "gp2 engine" :P

McLaren itself was and is failure, not the engine. Honda is becoming one of the best engine suppliers.

@Aaron You just explained the 2010 and 2012 of Alonso too. Alonso's pace with the slow Ferrari was astonishing.
@@SGstylerSG Kimi wasn't the real challenger. It was Hamilton and both Ferraris, until Massa dropped out of contention. Kimi only came into play at the end. The true battle was HAM-ALO.
@@Jejking Kimi won more races than anyone that year though
@@Phototrappeur Partly agree with you. He either won, or had a major low-key weekend (Monaco/USA), or mech failures. Hamilton was most consistent, while Alonso was fast but also had some off-races (Bahrain/Canada/France/Japan). I mean intra-team battle.
For vettel: "but it was time a new legend was forged" that gave me goosebumps because he is a legend.
Agreed, Vet is a legend, just like Schumi, Ham, and Alo.
Alonso, Hamilton and Schumacher never got beat comprehensively by a team mate. Leclerc and Ricciardo ended the comparisons between Vettel and the other 3.

End of an era. GRACIAS FERNANDO!
Guess what he’s back. Hey just a fun recommendation but search without me fernando alonso it’s a parody song of without me and such a awesome one
Where is Kimi 2005 and 2007?!
It is astonishing how much the two legends, Kimi Räikkönen and Fernando Alonson, resemble each other. They came to Formula 1 at the same time in 2001. Both have been driving for Ferrari for many years. Both McLaren for both five years (Kimi 2002-2006, Fernando 2007, 2015-2018). Also in Enstone's team, which in Kimi's case was Lotus and Fernando Renault. Kimi achieved more with Ferrari and McLaren, but Alonso had more to reach Enston. Both are great world champions who fought for the title at the same time in 2005 and 2007. The second time Kimi won and another Fernando. Kim has more podiums, But Fernando has a little more profits. Impossible to say which of these better drivers. Certainly at the same level.
@@markom7960 you compared raikonnen with Alonso jajajja

Fernando will be missed!
He's back!
Fernandos greatest rival was BAD LUCK.
should have won atleast 5 titles.
Long live alonso.
I'd rather say bad decisions, didn't switch to RBR when they were getting better and better and chose Renault once again, left Ferrari for McLaren. The titles 2010 and 2012 could have been his with a little bit more luck, yes, but bad team choices put him in a bad position for too long.
@@Gizfreek yeah actually but he didn't deserve 2010,2012 because Vettel has Even More Bad luck but still won

And Kimi ??
Yes, i'm also in shock. Kimi & Fernando both started the career together & they were rivals from the beginning, when schumacher was winning. Alonso's first rivals were KIMI & Schumacher. Then comes the rest.
Kimi only got the title because of the Alonso/Hamilton rivalry!
@@Checkyoursix77 and fernando got title in 2005 because of unreliable mclaren
@@Checkyoursix77 And because KIMI won most races in that season. Try to remember FIA's commentary while 2007 Brazil GP podium ceremony, "IF ALL THREE RACER's WOULD HAVE ENDED WITH EQUAL POINTS, THEN TITLE GOES TO THE RACER WITH MOST WINS".
@Twitch Vurguları Both Renault and Maclaren got first and second place because of Bridgestone...
I started following F1 closely in 2003 when I was around 10 years old. I remember Alonso winning his first GP at Hungary... He's been my favorite forever and I will miss him dearly. Sad he never got his 3rd WDC, however, he's proven his ability, putting bad cars where they don't belong. Getting points whenever he can... Not the most wins or WDCs, but so many points... So consistent. He's grown much wiser and mature over his career and it has been a pleasure to watch. Good luck in Indy and life in general!
But he didnt fight Schumacher to the 2005 title..
Congratulations!

Kimi Raikkonen ? Where is his rivalry with him ? Or you F1 dont consider him as one of the greatest of this sport ?

They didn't mention that both Hamilton and Alonso failed to deliver a championship to McLaren when they they were teammates.

@GT012345tube Yes. Maybe they are only talking about a rival for the title. Like only two guys battling
Thank you Fernando for all this great years, i love you🥺😢
So we ll just gonna ignore Kimi?
Alonso is one of the GOATs of this sport. We were lucky to watch Kimi, Alonso, Vettel and Lewis at the same time.
Kimi is a joke according to this video.
It’s Sad that he is leaving like this! Wished he could get a chance to fight for a title one more time! Fernando has never been in a car that was as dominant as Schumacher with Ferrari, Vettel with Red Bull and Lewis with Mercedes! It’s because of that and the fact that he won two championships which makes him the BEST Formula one driver alongside Schumacher and Senna!
Thank you Fernando!
Jayshal Patel lost to rookie lewis in the same car
2010-2013 was something to forget for Lewis fans as their idol never fought for championship. Alonso was voted the best driver by team bosses in 2010 and 2012 despite not winning the titles. His consistency was unmatched by any driver.
And gilles villnerve
Yeah I agree, he defeated all the big teams in 2005 and 2006 in a Renault. For me, 2 championships in a Renault are way more valuable than 7 championships in a Mercedes

His greatest rival: The Honda engine.
Honestly I think its his luck more than anything, breakdowns just seem to follow him wherever, even after McLaren switched to Renault. Luckily he's hasn't had any problems at Toyota, at least not yet.

Honda engine doing great on redbull. Just the Mclaren poor development

his greatest rival is his own decision making..
Not everyone has a crystal ball that can see the future.
@Anton Basuki
yet here we are with Alonso only having 2 championship, while Hamilton, who came in right after Alonso won those championship having won 5 of them since then and by making right move at right time...
Granted I'll give you that back in 2008 when Red Bull was offering Alonso the contract, one might not have seen how quickly they become championship winning team, despite Adrian Newey being there, but his move back to Mclaren in 2015 was utterly idiotic one, considering that Mclaren had been in downfall since 2013 and also Honda was starting on backfoot compared to all the rest.
@@Balnazzardi Ah here comes another guy that has that crystal ball.
@Anton Basuki Im just saying the writing was on the wall regarding Mclaren.....that was also the reason why Hamilton decided to leave from there cause he could see where the team was going....the fact that Mclaren with the best engine in 2014 did worse than Williams did.....well I just leave it to that. And this year revealed further than Mclaren's problems wasnt just Honda engines, but the team went to shit otherwise and that already had begun way before Alonso decided to return back there....Alonso clearly had some foolish hope that Honda would somehow be able to built some kind of dominating power unit, but look how that turned out...
Yes, because no one would want to drive for McLaren Honda...it's easy to be smart now! Did you say the same thing in 2014? And that's the only bad decission he made. In Ferrari he was a real contender for the title.
These clips. Those confrontations. The voiceover. The edit. Awesome. Very awesome. Waking up to this, gave me goosebumps. Gonna miss Fernando 🙏🏻
To me, Alonso is one of the top 5 or 6 of all time. His 2012 season proved his titanic talent when he took the 4th or 5th best car to multiple victories and the cusp of a world championship. The world will miss his greatness tremendously and only be aware of that once he is gone. Thank you Fernando.
lmao Kimi isn't even here? ok
Exactly....Kimi was his first rival in 2005 and they even came in F1 at the same time, so I think its really stupid that they left that fact out of there...
I was suprised that there was not one mention of Kimi.
Bwoah...I mean...it's not ideal but...does it matter...?
It is astonishing how much the two legends, Kimi Räikkönen and Fernando Alonson, resemble each other. They came to Formula 1 at the same time in 2001. @@markom7960 I am sorry but that's not even close! Alonso has proven to be the better driver. You can't possibly put Alonso and Kimi at the same level. Alonso is a tier 1 driver along with Michael, Senna, Prost, Fangio, Clarke, Hamilton and Lauda. Kimi is probably a tier 2 driver at best but a strong tier 2 driver and well above other tier 2 drivers like Vettel, Button, etc.
We're gonna miss him :( 💙

"Winning alongside these greats he's written his name in F1's League of Legends" Long live El Nano!
Seriously?? Kimi was faster all 2005, with multiple mechanical failures and retiring two times from the lead. Schumacher was his first rival? Give me a break.
@Vadim Fedco F1 also seems to suffer from "selective memory" syndrome....notice how funnily enough they didnt even mention Kimi when it came to that 2007 championship fight either?
@@Balnazzardi yeah, forgot to mention that. "Neither of them became champion", well yeah, cause Kimi was stronger at the end of the year, despite freaking Mclaren copying Ferrari ideas. That was just unfair to Kimi.
So you're just gonna ignore the fact that Schumacher became Champion in 2003 and 2004 aswell and Alonso was fighting him during that era aswell?
@Spack Entertainment Except that Alonso was NOT in champonship fight during either of those years....
Kimi however was in 2003 and in 2004 no-one was able to challenge Ferrari's and Schumacher.
@@Qsrjeiwjwj Really? Kimi is second in 2003 championship and WAS fighting Schumacher, while Alonso was nowhere near them. Also, even though no one could challenge Michael in 2004, Kimi has one win, and Alonso does not. So, you're just gonna ignore those facts? Alonso wasn't fighting Michael in any of those years, while Kimi was.

Kimi, Lewis, Schumacher
vettel xD ?
Newey
he demolished kimi in the same car ( Ferrari 2014)
Just because Kimi's popular it doesn't mean he belongs in the same class as MS, LH and SV. Kimi got lucky in 2007 after Lewis's two bad final races, but Kimi is far too inconsistent to be considered one of this generations greats.
@SteveMHN First of all while I agree that he might not be to be considered among MS, LH and SV, he STILL WAS the first main rival for Alonso......he was there as the only one to challenge Alonso for 2005 championship and he was also there to win it in 2007, he was just as much rival that season as Lewis Hamilton was....or can you deny this fact?
Secondly its utterly bullshit to say that Kimi "only won in 2007 because he was lucky", considering that while he suffered 2 car failure DNFs in Spain and Nurburing, Mclaren drivers enjoyed bullet proof reliability (aside from Hamilton's small gearbox problems in Brazil) and their only DNFs came from their OWN mistakes, with Alonso crashing out in Fuji and Hamilton making that idiotic mistake by pitting too late with worn out tires and cruising off to sand in pit entrance in China....
First rival was Kimi, not Schumacher
Fernando will always be my very first idol in Formula One #GraciasFernando
