I spent the last month reading every case study I could find and talking to experts about testosterone... I learned that there is no consensus on what a normal range for a man should be and the best practitioners prescribe based on symptoms and not numbers.

Ryan, love your channel and the information you provide. I went down the HRT route 10 years ago and aside from some sensitive nipples on occasion due to some testosterone to estrogen conversion, I felt strong, aches and pains went away, increased libido, and felt like I was 30 again. Unfortunately after several years I began experiencing episodes of Afib, having an echo cardiogram followed by 2 cardiac ablations, I was informed of enlargement in several of my heart valves. I only took very minimal therapeutic dosages and after consulting with my cardiologist who informed me that the hypertrophic affects on muscle don't discriminate and affect the heart tissue as well I chose to stop. The first 6 months really sucked, but began feeling better with time and while I miss feeling like I did when on Test, I'm playing the long game and happy to say that in a recent echo cardiogram (I'm currently 58) my heart valves have normalized in size. Not trying to rain on anyone's parade here, but there are always implications with exogenous therapies.
What how much did you take ??? From Dr or the dark side ???
Wayne
Same here, however I didn't see an enlargement of my valves I acquired polycythemia Vera, which means excessive platelets. This isxa form of blood cancer. I stopped testosterone soon after being diagnosed. The Doctor informed me. This was either due to testosterone therapy or I actually have policy theme Avera, so, after testing genetic testing we found that I don't have policy theme of era but I do have excessive plate lets. I stop taking testosterone 8 years ago I still have excessive platelets which means every 3 months, I must go and have a pint of my blood removed from my body. To me its just not worth it. FWI my testosterone levels are now higher than when I started naturally. So they say once you start replacement therapy, your body loses the ability to produce it. That is not true. I have also had a vasectomy still not a problem.
Define "minimal dosage" because the latest science states micro dosing daily is the correct safe way to administer TRT, and that's what reputable clinics are doing now. So what specific mg dosage were you on.
@@medicmike4906did you get regular blood work every 3 months and have it analysed to adjust your therapy program, like you're supposed to.

I was in a wreck at 20yrs old. By 23 my levels were 63ng/dl and tanking further to below 60ng/dl by 25. I had died on the operating table for nearly two minutes.
My body went into freak out mode, nerve pain, depression, lazy mood swings. Then I was given TRT at 1cc of 250mg/ml every 10-12 days
It changed my life. I felt like myself again. Upside is I don’t worry much about my estrogen levels. My body stopped producing testosterone almost completely and I use TrT to get me to baseline or slightly above.
Sadly, attempting to speak to a female doctor in my area about TRT normally gets me eye rolls and you don’t need it. So I’ve went rouge and ordered online for years from a trusted vendor.
Downside is I don’t get bloodwork done enough. I should but I don’t. I listen to my body. Give blood on the regular and take the same regimen my doctor had me on since 25.
Good or bad. I got tired of not feeling like a fucking Man. Tired of doctors thinking their labs are not reliable as my levels always read 80 year old man low unless I’m on my TRT.
I’ll keep being rouge and feeling great.
Glad he mentioned the CPAP. I had my numbers checked, all in normal range, but I was always exhausted and not recovering properly from workouts. Did a sleep study, turns out I don't breathe when I close my eyes. The CPAP changed my world. Don't neglect yourself.
First time watching your channel and loved your breakdown of this hormone and its physiology. Well done.

I’ve been on TRT for almost 20 years. Started in my early 50’s. Had very low T, under 200. Started with the gels and it worked wonders for about 10 years and felt like I was back in my 30’s and got me back into the gym. I’ve worked with my primary care physician through all of this. Once the gels quit working I was off TRT for a couple of years and lost my energy and drive. I stumbled on to BioTe HRT pellets though my wife’s OBGYN. They insert the pellets in your butt under the skin. Insurance does not cover them and they are about $750 every 5 months but well worth it in my opinion. I tried TRT injections, but my PSA went sky high and the ups and downs were noticeable. Once I started pellets and my wife as well, our sex life was resurrected like we are back in our 30’s. One of the biggest positives is that it has really reduced my joint aches and pains that comes with being 66. Also give me the energy and drive to hit the gym and exercise more…..Can’t say enough good things about our experiences. All of my critical blood work is well with normal range.

I was around 300 and my doctors wouldn't get me on trt as a 36 year old man. I have gone to a specialty clinic and my life has CHANGED for the good! no negatives other than the costs, but I'm my old self again that I thought was lost. I'd LOVE to go back to those to doctors in a year and say "oh look all my problems are solved and you did jack shit about it". if anyone is debating if TRT is right for you, I'm here to say it is!
What are total monthly costs? Are you in the u.s.?
@@babyreps365 I’m in the USA. It’s not a monthly plan for me, I pay per blood work, test, anastrozole, and clomid all individually

I've been watching you for slightly over a year, and oh my god have you made gains. I know your taking testosterone and peptides but is there any way you can make a video breaking down all your supplement use and diet. You are very forward about your workout regiment which kicks ass. Would love to see it. Obviously its working.
I've been following your channel for months now, and I can't thank you enough for the hilarious yet insightful content you consistently provide!

I always wonder the truth of the nutrition labels of all these companies! You’re the new Sheriff in town. Very interested to see the finding. A whole series on busting the supps! Best content on youtube. Thank you!
I was thinking the same thing when he said what is in the box 🎉🎉
Supplements don’t need to adhere to the same regulations as foods. In the EU food labels can have an error of up to 10%. For supplements it’s up to 50%. And the EU is 1000 times more strict than the US when it comes to food regulations. This means that any supplement produced and bought in the US is most likely just BS powder
I hope he doesn't hold back because of some stupid reason like getting sued or something else like getting bribes. We all like the truth. Especially when some are getting rich by stealing from the poor and most taking supplements are poor young kids. Or older people that don't have insurance or jobs because they are too old to work. Or too beat up to work, why they need supplements.
This documentary is a whistle blower, will you watch it? 👉The Connections (2021) [short documentary] 🙏
You shouldn’t believe anything in any nutrition label. They aren’t regulated nor are they required ti disclose ingredients and they are permitted to make somewhat vague health claims
What a F*CKING amazing idea to be able to test supplements yourself. SUBSCRIBED FOR LIFE.
RH, just wanted to say that I love your channel and the content you provide. And especially how your lab/garage looks like something out of Batman with the lights on the ceiling. 👍👍💯
Great video and content Ryan. I really appreciate the effort you put into your work and always look forward to more.
Good video. Reading the comments from men who've had complications from TRT really strengthens my stance that optimizing T levels naturally for as long as possible is the way to go
Mostly from guys who know nothing about gear and aren't healthy to start with. I'm on TRT, I was dialed in at my 2nd blood test 10 weeks in. But I eat right and exercise. It's pretty simple. 1150 total T
It’s been completely opposite for me. Most of my problems went away when I started trt. I was military and I had crashed my t from the lack of sleep poor eating and constant eating of my body. But it’s improved and has been 3 years. I was super low though like 235 ish /dl I sit around 900 and feel amazing. Health markers are amazing.

@@joey6882After they gave me the Anthrax shot (got out in 2004), 3 weeks later had to get my thyroid removed. My most recent level was 234. Back in 2014 I was 320. I think around 2009 I was 500.
I took am on TRT. Totally Change my life. I had all the low T symptoms. Funny thing is trt actually made my herniated disc discs 90% better and my flat feet almost don't hurt at all either. Trt also put me in a lot better mood and my wife and I have a much better relationship now. ( Apparently I actually was the problem lol)
My doctor actually makes me go off treatment for one week every 20 weeks. It reminds me how much I need to be on TRT.
The bonus that I added to my trt was cialis, p5p and Sunflower Lecithin.
Keep preaching the fitness truth. You're awesome!
If your doctor is making you go off for a week, ever, you need a new doctor.
@@kingcreed348
I thought about it, but my doctor is about half price of any trt clinic I can find. So if I go out for one week it's not a huge deal. It makes me appreciate being on trt.
Test cyp last 2.5 weeks, so you would have to stop for 20 days 🤷. Unless you're doing the cream?
How long did it take for you to see the full benefits of the trt?
Does TRT give you insomnia? I wanna try it but am afraid of having insomnia. 😐
Very VERY dam good Intel and absolute respect his level of work and his process of delivery! He's definitely made it HIS way and no one can copy. Definitely has his own style!
AND this is why I've been hesitant to spend money on any supplements that say they will boost free testosterone, without me understanding what "free" actually means.
THANK you Ryan for the work you do. I've learned more about being a male than I thought I needed to, and that's a good thing.
I was level 90 year old man until I optimized. Changing my life big time.
TRT? Or natural way
TRT saved my life. Im not even the same person anymore. I had a pituitary problem that caused my test to crash in my early 20’s I went to multiple doctors for years and they all denied any treatment or tests. I went to an Endocrinologist when I was 27 and he knew within minutes what was wrong with me. I had a pituitary tumor (benign). It caused my test to be as low as 69 one time.
Been on test 12 years now and it saved my life. I feel like a complete manly man. It it the best thing that ever happened to me.
A lot of young people use it as a PED which is dumb. Men who really need the medicine see the muscular improvement but the best part is how it changes your psyche and the way you think and act.
How much does it cost in total per month between blood tests and TRT? That's the limiter for most of us.
@@kingofcrunk4237
Im not sure. I think $25 per month for the prescription and blood work every six months maybe another $50. I have good insurance so maybe twice that with the average insurance plan.

DHEA is another important item to look at on your blood work.
Yeah, I had an insane amount of brainfog, ever since DHEA and Pregnenolone supplements I've been better.
Correct- I’m sure his is high because he’s wearing a hat
DHEA gave me alot of the benefits I was hoping T would give me. Together they're a power couple.
Love your content!! As. Medical Technologists you are always on point and entertaining.
As always very informative! Another aspect that we must all not forget is Estrogen. Many of the signs of low T are often or at least sometimes due to too much estrogen. If a doc tests your Test levels and not your E2 levels go see a better doctor. Often times they’ll get you on TRT when maybe you could’ve taken an AI to lower your estrogen and that alone would help you get your testosterone up.
Very good information. 125mg a week for the last 5 going on 6 years, my provider does blood work every 4 months. Best shape of my life at 52!! My numbers stay between 950-1050, Do your cardio people!
mine is 200mg a week for about 6yrs now. Blood work every 6 months. Only issue Ive had is that my body loves to convert test to estrogen. Not sure why. I take an estrogen blocker once a week to keep it in check. Most side effects are BS. Anything that happens to your health while on trt will be blamed on trt. The last thing most doctors these days want is for you to be healthy. That doesn't make them any money. All the healthiest people I know are on trt, even my wife. All have blood work to prove it. I recommend it to anyone over 40, man or women.
@@jbgtly4930 It sounds like you found a regimen that works well for you, and great that you are keeping a close eye on things with regular blood work. It's funny how our bodies can sometimes throw us a curveball, like yours with the conversion to estrogen. I had a similar challenge and started on a 200mg dose, but my body was also converting too much of it to estrogen. My doctor was proactive about it, and she gradually lowered the dose, tweaking it week by week, and then checking the levels. Eventually, we dialed it in perfectly to 125mg, which has become my sweet spot.
It's important to tackle these treatments with a personalized approach since everyone's body chemistry is unique. The side effects can indeed be overemphasized at times, and it’s key to find a medical professional who understands the balance between treatment benefits and potential risks. It's encouraging to hear that TRT has been beneficial for you and your circle. You are correct healthy people dont bring in money!
@@jbgtly4930you are so right about the blame game = sayings that Testosterone is harmful. It's such a lie!! I'm glad I'm not the only one noticing that.
You mentioned your Estrogen elevating. That's just the bodies way of balance & regulation to match your elevated Testosterone levels. Please be mindful that Cypionate if that is what you're on will be active for 2wks in your system. At wk 2 it will be around half or 2/3rds of the original dose and tapering.
So what no one is noticing is that of you took 200mg of Test on Monday. Then next week take another 200mg. You're now actually at 300mg. You may want to try backing your dose down to find your sweet spot. Everyone responds differently to Testosterone. Some need more while some can use less.
@@jbgtly4930Do you microdose through the week? Donate blood to help your hematocrit? Trying to learn.
I bought some ZMA, DIM and boron as well.
Had mine tested by a TRT clinic. It's was 115! I felt fine but probably because I didn't know what great was. Went on it and within a month felt like a new person. My test shot up to 1500 in 3 months! Got checked again 6 months later still 1500 and my blood is perfect. I lowered my dose to combat acne but I don't feel quit as good but still much better. Highly recommend to at least get checked out !

@@recPokerFish that's awesome! I go to the derm here soon and hope I can go back up
@@recPokerFish what does amazing mean exactly? Thanks
How long on the lowered dose?
You're body has to recalibrate since it was producing Estrogen to match your previous higher Testosterone doses. The Estrogen output has to sync with your amount of Testosterone.
Also be sure to stay well hydrated & rested.

My test is half my friends and I’m stronger than him by a lot and we both lift. If you don’t have clinical symptoms of low T - there are massive CVD risks to supplementing with T. But also, who doesn’t like DonG Water. I’d also be shocked if most people going to doctors for T have clinical symptoms. Most on social media do it for aesthetic goals. Just consider LDL and CVD risk jumps by doing that.
I don't think the CVD risks are massive for therapeutic dosages. If the bloodwork starts to go awry, it's fairly straightforward to manage hypertension, lipid derangement and excessive heart signalling (if dudes decide exogenous test is worth copping the added pharmacological load).
The real issue is that symptomatic dudes with low T and no underlying medical condition that could explain it are willing to shut down endogenous production instead of trying to figure out the root cause. Maybe that's understandable when you have the medical profession vacillating between "200ng/dL is fine" and "nah who needs a sleep study, here's 150mg of Test"? But still, it just beggars belief that so many men would have such profoundly insufficient androgen signalling that TRT is the only option for symptomatic relief. 🤷
@@DanielTanios whose taking therapeutic doses? What’s determining those doses? What’s the evidence that TRT isn’t harmful? Do you think the content creator is taking a “therapeutic” dose? Do you think viewers are here for medical advice or how to get steroids legally? Do you think the doctor featured agrees with the mainstream literature on this?

Just recently went back to one shot per week intra muscular from doing subq every other day for years. I think I may go back to sub q. I have noticed acne that I did not get before doing micro doses every other day. I just got tired of prepping all those needles every week
This is definately the way to go. also helped keep my estrogen under control doing sub Q, did not need arimadex doing that method
Once a week will def give you a big spike. Your acne could very well be coming from the aromatization to estradiol. More frequent injections is def the way to go if you want a nice steady level consistently with less conversion
This is gold!

I was 33 when the doc told me that my testosterone level was 87. Yes 87. She told me that I was basically dying. I had the levels of someone in their 90s. I’m 42 now and have been using testosterone (xyosted). The delivery method is like an epipen. Takes less than a minute. What a difference! Fellas, if you’re not sure, go to the doc.
Is there a brand and milligram that you know for sure that is true to what they claim and works on the Tongkat Ali?? Thanks for the videos!!
Curious what gauge needle you use for your daily injections and if you fill a week's worth of syringes so that you don't have to pull the medication every time prior to an injection? Really appreciate it and fantastic video. Thanks for making and sharing with us.
28g 0.5cc syringe is likely what he uses.

Got on HRT at age 26. I’m now 28. I feel great! Labs are perfect. I’m American but live in Guatemala and they give me nebido shot 1x every 10 weeks.
What are your total and free testosterone levels before and after the shot? What were your levels before trt?
The chart had cholesterol at the top of the cascade. Cholesterol is processed in the liver. When alcohol is present, the liver has to process the ethanol, in whatever form, and any cholesterol takes a backseat until the alcohol is taken care of.
Oh, how times have changed! I tried to test supplements 20 years ago and put the findings out on CZcams and got immediately hit with the cease and desist from one of the largest supplement companies at the time. Power to you Ryan!
didn't you sue them for litigation harassment?
Yt didn’t exist 20 years ago 😂
CZcams in 2004?
@@lecobra418 wasn’t even a company til 06
Just don't say the word "STEROID" ... even if you are a women taking the birth control pill, which is a steroid, or you have cracked skin and the doctor prescribes you, wait for it, hydrocortisone which is a - yup - steroid!
I wonder how long before this comment gets the axe too?
Thanks!
And then there’s people like me who had a petuitary tumor which messed everything you’re talking about all up. I’m on TRT for life whether I liked it or not. Tumor is now removed and I’m stuck with hormones all over the place if it weren’t for hormone therapy to keep me in line.
Great vid. Do u get any lumps in your tummy from subq or where do I you find is best for subq and what needle gauge. Anyone else feel free to chime in and also why do u do subq as opposed to IM?
Love the breakdown
My doc recommended Test Pellets. Loving it so far.
Excellent video. I’m on 50mg enanthate shots subq EOD. Feel amazing.
Great video. There was no free 12 week plan on the app though 👀🤷♂
You are too good Mr. Humiston. Glad you got the machine for testing everything 😂
