This was very helpful, thank you!
I have been using these headphones for a while so I unlocked the golden leather version, thank you for the tutorial
"Dont be afraid to be a litlle bit aggressive".... aaaaand I broke it XD
Yeah, part of it kinda ripped on both earpads.
Yeah, I thought that that was dumb advice.. People don't understand what impact their words can have when guiding others through new processes.
This helped so much! My earpads were really bothering me to the point when I would wear them I would have to put something over my head before putting them on! Anyway, thank you for this video!
TIP! Use hair dryer to loosen the black "lip" that is attaching the pad to the actual headphone, set the hair dryer to middle heat and in circular motion around the edge of the pads blow the air on it for around 10-20s, that way they will come out waaaay easier without any pressure (that torn my previous pads), same way when re-attaching back on the headphone, use hair dryer again to loosen the lip - for re-attaching I would also recommend just attaching a small bit of the lip on, and work your finger from the inside of the headphone out (from the area that is producing the sound outwards) basically pushing the lip on the headphone edge if that makes sense, not pulling it to again, not break things. Also feel free to wash the head band the same way as these, worked great for me.
Thank you, good sir.
Thats why i don't like using my headphones before showering
Definitely good advice! This was after a few years of daily use though, going to do it every 6 months to a year from now on 😅
Another tip or rather a warning, dont use a vacuum to remove the hair and crumbs directly from the headphones. I destroyed my 880pro by gently cleaning them that way 🙃Edit: Perhaps you should also be carefull with compressed air , as the inner membrane is very sensitive.
Interesting to see Beyerdynamics official statement: "Use only water, no detergents". They want you to buy replacement pads as soon as yours get a little greasy/dirty, huh.
Could be! I've had no issues cleaning mine using this method and done it about 3 times in total now.
It's possible over the long run it could wear them down, but honestly clean pads are worth it :)
Detergents can really ruin certain products. Instructions are there to help you not scam you. Even if they don’t show up on the first few washes, you’ll most likely start to see the damage the detergents do to your pads. But at that point you might as well just pitch in 40 bucks for some new fresh pads.
Damn dude, not only do I own the same headphones as you, but I have the same keyboard AND keycaps. Finally someone around here with some taste.
Damn nice! Gotta love those pudding keycaps! :)
I gotta ask what mouse you got, can we compete the set?
@@Scoby I just saw this, I got a razer death adder
I have these headphones and they are the best
oh thanks now i know how to put the pads back on :)
:D
Thank you.
Happy to help!
Mine seem to have torn on the inside when I pulled them out. Or maybe it was when I placed them back on. They still work but they’re a bit loose fitted now.
Ah damn, that's sucks. If needed it possible to get replacement pads on Amazon/AliExpress. They are not super expensive!
Hey there, if you still have the headphones and would like to try cleaning them again without ripping next time, use hair dryer to loosen the lip when taking the pad off and back on again, that way you wont tear it.
How to clean your ear pads:
1) Clean them
Thanks for watching guys, make sure you subscribe!
🤣
THANK YOU.
My headphones smell horrific, and it's high time I did something about it.
How do you clean the foams? The thing in the earpads. Is it called that?
I just use compressed air to blow dust off them they were not very first for me
Bloody amazing! Yes! Finally can get my cherished DT770s looking vaguely grey again! THanks for this
Glad I could help, keep in mind at some point replacement pads will be your only option 😅
@@Scoby Yeah I believe it. I neglected mine for so long… in a studio that allowed hip-hop clients to smoke! They came out so much better, but I fear they're permanently stained. Tell me if I did it right? czcams.com/video/SRBPrS01mZI/video.htmlsi=WCL4OUaRWYobk5G9
mine always feel greasy when i put them back on, i've hand washed them sometimes and machine washed them other times but i can't seem to get them to stop feeling greasy
Mine were greasy to a point that when I put them on a desk on top of a paper, the paper became transparent from the oils in them :D GROSS! Anyway, following what the guy in the video showed, re-applying the step of soaking real well in water and then two rounds of gentle washing machine liquid soap - hand applied into the pads and rinsing and repeating worked well for me, no grease at all now.
Not gonna lie, those still look rather vile. If I demolished ‘em that bad, I’d just invest in new pads. Better yet, just get some nice Dekoni pads and increase their comfort and sound even more.

Happy to help :)
is it normal if the black rubber like parts start feeling off? because my bowl was full of black pieces and particles
that means your earpads are aging and it is not a bad idea to replace them
Or it means the detergent you used didn't work well with the ear pads. Some combinations of chemicals will do just that. Either way, it's not 'normal'.
Yeah, using beard oils just make these get dirty real quick with me and after a few weeks they develop a musk. Good solution, but I'd probably just chuck it in a bag and then in the washing machine for some deep cleaning.
I've had these headphones for a while now and never washed these because I didn't realise they just come off like that...
I put them in some water and squeezed and the water went a light brown 🤢
could you put the earpads in the dryer instead of letting them air dry?
You could, but I would be worried what it would do to the leather/faux lether on the back side I think it might dry it out and crack it. So maybe for a few mins to help with the drying, but don't think I would risk much longer!
why do you use Tums?
I have no idea what Tums is to be honest with ya mate 😅
U look like jacksepticeye! No offense I love u both❤
i cleaned mine but they still have the stains
Dilute vinegar in water & it should remove stains then use baking soda to finish it
I've waited way too long to do this because I know better Dynamics are p i t a but they're starting to look a little off color now so I think it's time 😳
Thanks this helps a lot but what about the ear pads? I mean the ones in front of the driver
I have attempted to put the ear pads back on for 2 months now and now I broke my wrist
why do u look like a more masculine jacksepticeye???
12 hours? bruhh
Just leave them to dry overnight lol
Just buy new ones every year. 20 bucks and 10 minute job.
This is also a nice option! Plus can try different materials on the pads, can really change up the sound and isolation:)
Or just wipe them with a towel lmao. What are you doing not showering for a week?
Lol, this was after a while of use, one of those, I'll do it tomorrow things for a while 😅
Some people just have oily skin and mixed with hair dead skin cells and oil it csn fuck those earpads up quite a bit.
I shower every day and mine get that build-up.
