      @@stoodgain Use micro-fiber, same you use for glasses (extremely cheap on a local store), no products required but if for some reason they get too dirty use soap and water, and clean them the same way you would with your skin. When the micro-fiber gets dirty just clean it the same way you would with your clothing but give it a bit extra rinse. PD: If you only planning on cleaning them one or twice a year for good measure, alcohol won't hurt them, isopropyl alcohol mix with water is even less harmful but on a daily base avoid it at all cost. Give it a try, I was impress by how well micro-fiber deals with sweat and dirt and you can also clean your mouse the same way without messing around with the rubber grip they have on the sides.

    • @ThunderKat
      @ThunderKat Před 3 lety +4

      @@traeneversober Sound a bit extreme, I would just give them a normal clean same way you do with your shoes at that point, put it on a cup with soap, rise them many time with fresh clean water using the same cup and well, it might take all day to see them going dry completely since you should avoid direct Sun light, use cold water for the process and don't let them stay on soap for more than a minute or two. After that make sure to get that micro-fiber to clean them daily after use just to avoid that happen again. You can buy replacement if the headset are a well known brand, this should make easy fix to the problem of time-out during that drying period. Just threat them the same way you would with a plastic bag, avoid reactive chemicals, hot water or direct exposure to Sun light. Other than that you see this type of materials use on cheap shoes and chairs, ain't something unique or anything. I speak español so don mind any mispellins

    I stopped watching the exactly same time you applied alcohol on the synthetic leather on the earpads, you really have a great idea of what you're doing, great tip, bro :)
    For the ones that doesn't one to simply halven the lifespan of your synthetic leather earpads (they deteriorate over time, it's something that just can't be avoided, but just don't apply alcohol on it hahaha), just clean it with a clean towel with a neutral soap and it should be fine (remember to remove the soap after with some clean water), that is more than fine to keep it clean and doesn't mess up with the very low lifespan the synthetic leather has :)

    Don't use dish washing detergent or tidepods. They're for dishes, they can work but you are better off using cleaning powder or liquid you put into your washing machines for clothing, especially since it is primarily fabic based.

    I'd like to point out that the laundry machine uses a hell of a lot more water than that bowl or whatever a normal person would use, who knows how strong tide pods are so I would highly discourage the use of a tidepod. Especially since there's not an easy way to control concentration without using an excess amount of water. At least with regular laundry detergent or bleach, you can control the amount.
