- Firing up my home made Chevy V8 diesel 6,2 L snow blower for the first time.
See the Snowblower in ACTION: • My V8 Diesel Snowblowe...
I got this engine from a friend of mine some years ago. Original the engine comes from a Chevrolet Suburban, and it had some years in a Chevy Van. It had bad compression.
I opened it up, repaired it, painted it and decided to make a real fat massive snowblower :)
A hydraulic pump is driven from the engine with a belt, a hydraulic motor is connected to a little diff from a Subaru Justy. From there it is chains from a Honda 750 connected to the wheels. Stepless moving forward, reverse and totally brake in neutral.
The blower is driven from a belt direct from the crankshaft. The total weight is about 600 kg.
With chains on the wheels, it has real good traction.
I am going to make a video of it moving snow. Where I live there is too little snow and because of the noise of the engine running 3-4000 rpm I need to find a place where there’s few people :)
To get away all doubt: It is a 6,2 L V8 diesel, it has no distributor, no carburettor or electronic fuel injection. Only mechanic fuel injection, diesel pipes and wires for the glow plugs.
And the most important of it all:
I have had a lot of fun making it :) - Auta a dopravní prostředky
Perfect example of “just because I can”.
@ Tom Gates: the best part is he lives in Florida....LOL
you know with all the climate change due in part by this kind of '' ingenuity '' it could be usefull .
Isn't America great?
One of the neighbors of one of the people I used to do yard work for complained because I was blowing snow in her yard late at night I had Advanced the governor on my snowblower and it burned its exhaust off he said I have to get up for work well I'm not sure how soon he has to get up me myself I was there at 11 and I had to get up at 3 in the morning so how do you think I felt but whatever, this snowblower would have sure set him straight.
@@randymiller3949 To build junk???
V8 Binford snowblower, Tim the tool man would be proud.
More power!
Arghh arghh arghhhh
@Rene Drew actually it was 6100
True that Arrr Arrr arrrr
Binford King Snow Master 350X
That's the exact thing I was going to say. LOL 😆
neighbors must love this guy when he's snowblowing at 2am .
If you wanna put snow on the neighbor's yard 2 blocks away this is the right tool for the job
2 blocks? Maybe 2 miles away.
🥶
lol..
Just rolled out of the garage and scared all the snow clean away! Wow.
Hank Henry yeah he didnt even have to start it and it scared it all away
I feel inadequate with my 13 hp snowblower now...lol...this is awesome!!!
Tim Taylor would be proud
Great job getting her goin. SHOW IT MOVIN SNOW!! C'MON Man...
Nice job. Point the exhaust pipes down towards the ground it will melt all the snow.
DO A VIDEO OF MOVING SNOW with that
I doubt it would be practical.
Exactly what I was thinking, that thing would have enough power to throw snow into the next state.
Who the fuck cares about practical at this point?
Yes I would impressed if he worked the junk pile in the south.
@@aktrapper6126 not with that oul burner.
No idea why this showed up in my feed but that snow blower is Bad Ass!! We need that for New England Nor’ Easters!!
"I'm up, neighbors are up too!"
Reminds me of Randy Quade's pushmower in that Richard Pryor movie "Moving".
How many sidewalks to the gallon does that thing get?
Hey I know what gets great mileage a shovel!
That's gallons to the sidewalk
It eats the side walks
Hahahahaha
1
That is definately gonna wake up the neighbours at 6am
Best use of a 6.2 diesel I’ve ever seen. 👍🏻
I have tried it with snow, works nice. But it's too little snow to make a video where I live. I will move the blower to a place with more snow to make some videos :)
Jomar Navarsete Thank you for that! I had to subscribe to you hit bell too and I watch all of your videos!
I bet it will walk on water
This is the machine you need when you live next to someone who is a pain in the ass so you can blow all of the snow from your entire property onto their driveway and clear up to the roof in front of their garage.
I live in New Hampshire, I’d be happy to film blowing snow with that if you need someone to take it off your hands
I can use that here in Northern Montana!
I SEEN ALOT OF THINGS IN MY LIFE BUT THIS TAKES THE CHEESE !!! AMAZING.
Hey, you are a BEAST!! Way to go! As long as you had fun making it, that's what's really important.
That is what America is all about, Creativity, design, follow through and success. Great job! Find a way to market that machine. Outstanding!!!👍
put a seat on it, make a sulky , don't forget to add a cup holder for your beer or coffee!!!!
john hodg it's not self propelled
Why not?
Cruise control too.
Now that's a snow blower
That is one Kick Ass snowblower. Great job building this beast!
Absolutely incredible machine. The smile on that guys face says it all.
I bet it throws tons of snow and rocks and asphalt and bodies and cars......etc.
Julius Mcday lmao
Julius Mcday there's an easy way to prevent it from throwing rocks and asphalt and other things like that you adjust the tabs on the bottom of the machine there are two scuff tabs on the bottom of the housing for the auger assembly and those adjust your height for removing snow
but what about the bodies and cars?
Holy crAp
I beat it has cracked heads, and the famous for the crank breaking in half.
You, sir are badass ! Now weld a bung into the exhaust and plump it through the handlebars for hand warmers. Lol
Don Rutter holy fuck. Lmao
I did notice he has the radiator right in front of the operator -- would keep you plenty warm...
That thing is sick! Love it. Great work
Now this cottage is a rare opportunity. Basically no neighbors around - except for this single one right there
That's Randy Quaid's mower in the movie "Moving", minus the flip out chain saw attachment. Needs ape hanger handle bars. Sweet!
Awsome snowblower. Greetings from Andreas on Off Grid Sweden
Offgrid.se can’t be much off grid if you have internet access
Jorge Z. You are right. Im not Off Grid.... yet. We are on our way to a more sustainable way of life and on the way we document what we are up to. One of our goals is to be Off Grid. In the cabin in the woods our sewage and water is now off the grid and we heat by wood. The Internet connection is wireless. We don't got any telephone cable in to the cabin any more. We still got electricity in to the cabin but we are not dependent on it. The plans are to install a solar system there to, but right now we have prioritized to install the 12KW solar system at the urban homestead that will hopefully save us some. The plan is to sell the urban homestead in the future and only live at our land in the woods. Hope you want to come with us on that journey.
Good luck Andreas from Bob in Minnesota or as we like to call it, Vikingland! Nine months of Winter and three months of poor sledding. Take care and Merry Christmas🎄SKOL!
Well Done!!!
Had a 6.2 in my 83 blazer plowtruck. Great old school diesel made before electronics.
That was awesome! Sometimes imagining it at work is just as fun.
I bought the same model at Home Depot
I bought a V6 version from Lowes.
I got the puny 4-cylinder from True Value
:/
I got one from Walmart that runs off 2 AAA batteries. I think I bought the wrong one.
I bought the 3 Cylinder Version from Big Lots.
I got the cheap V4 nockoff from Walmart
The next time someone asks "Why does anyone need and AR-15?" I'm gonna show them this video! God bless America!
@be wary for i am the S T A I R S it is sport use i hunt animals as a sport and eat the rewards
If you need power, go for the V12, ------ Sutherland Springs Texas ... gun for gun round for round face to face showdown ... St James massacre is another one. I love searching "Armed Citizen" and reading all the great reporting you NEVER see ... unless you look for it. And who wants unarmed citizens ? the very godless "democratic socialist" who are responsible for genocides all over the globe ... I recommend being prepared while you are FREE to do so, or hide under the S T A I R S
I apologize for commenting so late on this thread, but that's one of the most amazing things I've ever seen!!! Probably just sitting around the garage, couple barley pops, sharing some stories and wham! Hey, let's throw that V8 on that snowblower.... Why??? Because we can!!! Merica
Neighbor - Damn! sounds like Bill next door got himself a new muscle car. Gonna have to go over, and check it out.
Neighbors Wife - Nah, that's just Bill's new snow blower.
You're never gonna move snow any snow with that puny engine, a real man has a v12 diesel with heated handgrips, a beer dispenser, American flags flapping in the wind, and I don't see any guns on it anywhere
@herr haller I'm pretty sure he was joking.
Yeah right it will move snow alright remember when Chevy trucks had that engine they could pull 187 tons
A real man has non heated handgrips and a V8 Chevy the greatest motor ever
Rich kid
Good one Andy
The redicoulous things people do. I love it.
Bravo Jomar! Love it! Badest snowblower I have ever seen!
That’s just bad ass. There’s one grown man that looks forward to the first snow!
I love it, but then again you don’t live next door to me 😯
Lol. We'll said!
Too bad, he could do your walk and driveway in about 30 seconds.
Some random person- LS swap EVERYTHING
This mans- Hold my beer
Dude has the most bad ass snowblower ever !!!
This is the coolest thing I’ve seen in a long time
Anyone remember that movie w/ Richard Pryor and Randy Quaid called Moving? Pryor's next door neighbor with the souped up Lawnmower? Well, the comment by sancoffsr, along w/ the replies, Priceless! Not a bad idea at all! Using your imagination on this aspect is awesome!
Exactly what came to mind. Thanks for the title.
Third that. First thing I thought of.
Moving day was name of movie
Was just thinking the same.🤗
It'll do the quarter mile in 4sec flat!!! Lol
Dude...now that’s making the job fun!
OVERKILL!! I Still love the snowblower and your crazy idea and I left you a like
That sure is dope
QualityMuffin ya darn tootin
take the toyota wheels off and throw some small cragars on there. awesome job, sounds nasty!!!
fabiolas4 or some old school mag wheels
Why not some American force wheels😂
getting ready for winter is an understatement winter better be ready for you, you mean winter doesn't stand a chance with that bad boy
That had to be a fun project. Just awesome man
If I am not mistaken the governor in the fuel pump should be set at 3600. It's been many years since I ran one I think if you run it about 2800 to 3000 you still have some room for the governor to pick up load.
You're my hero!
I love it!
That thing could probably clear gravel, and any rocks that would fit through the snow chute.
6.2 GM Allison, yeah! Well done sir
That's a damn snow plow
Randy Quaid be proud 👍🏼
It's not how well you move snow, it's how well you move snow FAST! 😎
That is classic!!!
Nice job!
When a snow blower has a nicer engine than your car...
Smoke its burn oil
this is more fucking like it fuck yeah. This is extremely Murica.
Just WOW! Thank you for your video!
Overkill but freaking awesome!!!! Need to do a video of it in use
That thing could take on an avalanche!
I heard about those V8 Ariens...
Now we have a party! Next addition a skid you stand on while you blast snow at God speed! 😎😎😎
Since you don't see much snow around, one can only assume that the sight of that monster scared the snow away! Talk about overkill. lol.
"How dare you!" - 🤣😂
of course completely unnecessary but I would like to see it in action.
There is someone in Buffalo NY that needs this blower.
I think all of us would have loved to see it in action
ME
THIS IS EPIC! All it’s missing is the tank treads. I SALUTE YOU SIR! 😆
love to see this in action in the snow
Overkill is underrated
Do you think the auger transmission can handle that power? If you have altered it, please explain. Thanks. Nice job.
looks like it running off of accessory belt
500 ft lbs of torque to send snow and rocks into the next county! wish we could see it in action
Cut that in half lol it’s only a 6.2.
"More Power! *Grunting noises*"
-Tim Taylor
Wow, sure are alot of haters on here.
If it's not your thing...why are you here in the 1st place?
I keep seeing, "too much time on his hands." And ,"global warming" shit like that...
Seriously, shut the hell uo already, the guys out his time and energy into successfully building something he set out to do with his, time & money!
Personally i think it's cool as hell to see others doing things, that only other people dare to imagine.
amen brother, this is exactly what I think too! If we were to point out all the things that are time wasting on CZcams, boy would we be in for a long night.. Rather commend people on reaching their goals!
I'm sorry, what haters? You must be reading something I'm not. I'm reading admiration with some jelousie and a bit of light-hearted sarcasm thrown in for good measure. Lighten up. You must be a liberal who doesn't want to hear anything other than what you're thinking.
I think it's over the top crazy, a complete waste of resources and one of the coolest things I've ever seen. I want one. I guess this makes me a "hater".
Is that a snow blower or a smoke blower? Cause I don't see any snow but I sure see a lot of smoke.
That machine could create it's own polar vortex . Nice build.
Love it! Just the right amount of power 😎👍
You need to put some big knobby snow tires on it or you'll have no traction.
Or put chains on the tires.
It weighs over 1000 lbs. It will have plenty of traction
PLEASE DON'T EVER LEAVE OREGON.........
@@Livereater I also pay Oregon road taxes to a liberal state that won't even salt roads in the winter.
*Hey honey I put a v8 in the toaster*
You what?
*I PUT A V8 IN THE TOASTER*
LMAO!!! Priceless! Love it!
U R a very talented engineer!
I swear there is a Chevy v8 in literally every application! They truly are modular lol
6.2 diesel
ill loan your neibors a gun
I bought one for my wife it was a messy devorce
Sorry that was really dark id never do that
Your neighbors must love you
This thing just makes me so happy!
Do you have to push it or is it self propelled?
I can't push it, It is too heavy :) It has a little hydraulic motor connected to a differential from a car. The hydraulic pressure comes from a belt-driven pump. There is chains from the diff to the wheels. I use a hydraulic slide-valve to infinitely decide the speed forward or reverse.
Jomar Navarsete sweet
Glad to hear it's powered. I could see it sucked in to a snow drift and you'd never pull it back.lol
Jomar Navarsete Wow. You are really talented. Amazing invention. Maybe a 4 cylinder motorcycle engine would be more compact and less smokey.🏍️
The smoking will calm down when it either warms up or runs out of fuel. A fine machine.
Now THATS a snowblower.
Wickedly bad ass.
IT will be great to see you post a video of the machine in action
My hero! More power!
This thing makes blowing your driveway out at 3 00am all the more fun.
Now that is the blower we need in Western NY.
Great job. More power . Tim the tool man would be proud.
Love it!!! Rolling Art Work!!
I bet the neighbors love him on Saturday and Sunday morning
I want to see that in action! Awesome!
That smile on his face says it all.
The smiles per gallon are what really counts tho!
