    I do disagree with tearing open a proof set. There is just a certain nostalgia about a group of coins that have been together since they were minted.

    I know this is an old video but have a couple questions, I got a modern 2020 Weir Farm proof silver quarter for free so no initial investment, and under the scope it looks immaculate with deep cameo frosting over the whole thing. Its a stunner. Would it be worth sending off since theres been no initial investment already? I seen the same coin graded selling for around $70ish.
    Not sure where id find price guide for these modern silver proofs. I see nothing wrong with it but full disclosure i haven't dealt with a ton of grading. I only have a few proof 70 slabs but things like a proof 70 2024 W Eagle, a 2023 proof 70 Libertad, and a ms70 malta Golden Eagle that i feel are going to be good investment with a good value increase potential over the years to come. Would you agree?

      Great idea. See if Dansco or Whitman will donate collectible books to the club library via the school librarian. Sometimes it happens. Another thought- if you get the club started maybe to start the collecting mainstream stuff go for the statehood/territory quarters and Presidential dollars, might help build it and keep it interesting in the beginning as those coins are current, varied, and fairly easy to find. Just a thought. Good luck with that!

    What you want in older proof coins is cameo and deep cameo and the older (1950's and older) are what you want. Although it's highly unlikely that a common person could get one, proof 70 coins are utterly impossible for a common person to get in the older proof sets. It's better to just buy them at a certain grade or designation.

      Video should have answered that question, it's modern and even in 70 they're not going to be worth a bunch.

    After a year do you still look at the comments?
    I have a 1990 dime that was in cellophane, mint set I believe. I saw something on Roosevelt ‘s temple, so I took it put of the cellophane, I know I know I did it. Here's the thing there is a chunk missing, so I call it a suicide dime, my question is it a error? Better yet in grading would they note that and since it's a mint set, is it valuable?
    Also I have a 1909 s. VDB that I would like to show you, it is filled with controversy.

      @CoinHELPu  Před 3 lety +1

      I don't help in the comments, if you need help with a coin then post it in the coinhelpu community. I will forewarn you, I don't assist with coins people think are controversial. Coins are not a debating platform for me, if it's a mint error, then it's a mint error and if it's something that can't happen during the minting process then it's NOT a mint error.

      @@woollysammothscoins Ultra cameo doesn't but they don't put toning on labels. A toned coin can bring more if it's special looking.

    If a coin has daks marks around the letters it means it has double die

    • @CoinHELPu
      @CoinHELPu  Před 4 lety

      No, it doesn't. A doubled die is a coin with doubled features because it was struck with a die that was doubled.

    Just imagine have great coins to get graded and most advice is about how not to send in for grading. Then society switches from paper currency to digital and all those coins and grading submissions multiply there value exponentially lol. If you not taking money out of savings or the kids college fund and can afford a submission or two why wouldn't u. I've been to casinos gambling and lost thousands upon thousands and im only 32. If I have a decent coin amd want to get it graded I'm going to do so not to keep you happy but myself. I come for the information all you CZcamsrs give about coins. Not the advice you give about what I should do with my life not yours. Love your videos I come for the information not the life advice just saying no ill intention meant by my statement of facts

      Problem is you're giving me life advice on how to run my channel and shows, watching my videos is a privilege not a right. It's best to leave your pride and ego at the door when you come to this channel, so you don't read more into what I am saying than I intend.

    no more than i trust people , i have no intent to let anyone have any of my coins out of my direct eyesight. to dam easy for them to switch a dud in and claim it was mine. by the same token i have an antique 8 day clock that needs some adjustment but no way will i even think of leaving it with a repair shop, to easy to switch in junk clockworks and say it was no worth fixing and i have to pay them to steal from me no thanks. if you can't appraise a coin and offer a fair price same day same time. i'll just keep mine.
