Remote working is such a blessing. 👩🏾💻
THIS!
Most of my career has been remote but I wouldn’t change it for the world... when I think of morning and rush hour traffic... looking at people daily that I can’t stand spending money on food and clothes.. i totally remind myself why I love it. But these are great tips for someone just starting out. ✌🏽 what I can’t stand is ppl that think you don’t have a job because you work from home... yes flexible but its a hustle too especially if it’s a major corporation.
lmaooo "looking at people daily that I can't stand" 💀💀💀 And that's so real about people thinking you're not doing work! I don't have time to chat in the middle of the day, I have deadlines!!
What kind of jobs do you have? I’m looking for remote work, what are some good places/sites to check please?
I agree I'm 47 and all my life I been in office. I'm so ready to be complete remote for all same reasons.
Just like Keza, I have worked in a office all of my life. I worked in a toxic work environment with two coworkers who were bullies. I left that job and got another job. Fast forward five years later I am in another toxic work environment!!!
At 44, I'm ready to work remotely. I worked 1 year remotely during COVID Stay at home order and it was something new for me but I absolutely loved working at home. I always left my laptop on my desk in my living room along with my work phone. This worked for me to separate work and my personal life.
Working in a toxic work environment with cliques is not great.
- You're not going to be close to your coworkers (0:51)
- People can't see how hard you're working (2:12)
- It's easy for work to blend into your life (4:18)
1 - who cares
2 - they never notice anyway
3 - no it's not
Wth!! Beware of being blessed enough to be able to work from home, especially if you’re a mother! 🙄
Yes .. @ROTTER yes the comments explains my soul🙏🏾🙏🏾💯
Results speak for themselves. Even when I am at work, I'm one of those who make the job look easy - so I never really felt appreciated anyway.
Once people realize that mistakes don't come from you and your work is quality, not being seen isn't always an issue.
Also, there is always an occasion when there is a group conversation - this is where you really need to be prepared to engage with Accurate and Interesting points.
Really well said! Hope you've been getting a bit more appreciation lately!
I want a remote job…..I’m so damn tired of commuting to work….I’m at my breaking point
You deserve one!!!
yes understandable!
just waiting to have a phone interview for emote work, thank you so much for your wisdom !!!
So what happen you got the job ?
Did you find one
So helpful! I start my first day in a remote role next week.
Yay, I'm glad!! And CONGRATS! 🥳🥳
So helpful! Starting as a remote Art Director tomorrow. I onboarded on site last week, but tomorrow starts the remote work. My team is already doing a great job of having group calls and one on ones with the team-a lot of us are remote. Great tips to consider!
Congrats on getting the remote job! Working remotely has totally transformed my relationship to work and travel and opened so many doors, I hope the same for you!
Do u use ur own laptop or did the company supply one? Starting my remote job in 2 weeks
Girl I wish I worked remotely and could control my schedule. These are great tips, and I will keep them in mind because I sure my next job will be part remote (speaking it into existence)!
You better speak it girl!!
Amen
Keep it up lady. I appreciate the content and it's generally very helpful. I'm thinking about working remotely myself.
Oh thank you, much appreciated! Yes, definitely go into it with a clear understanding.
Love the advice, I just started that remote work life. I honestly love it, but having a little trouble adjusting to a routine that is in line with my partner.
Congrats on this new journey! Yeah, it's definitely tricky when your partner has a different routine, but it's possible to create a balance that works!
How did you find a remote job?
I celebrated my 1 year working remotely. I enjoyed it alot! 😊 But the problem I can't asks some company history, who were their previous employee, why they leave etc. Is it okay if I ask that? My work is in the US and I live in Asia.
@@RoxiLog very good point
This is great! I'm hoping to get a remote job soon and this is absolutely new territory for me.
Yay, glad it was helpful!!
I want one so bad but I don’t know where to look
@@WatchingMyFigures On Upwork, Linkedin etc.
@@WatchingMyFigures you will get one, I list legit remote jobs on my channel daily
Loved this video thank you!
I'm so glad Lauretta!!!
Setting up one on one conversations is smart! I want to work remotely one day..because I plan to go back to school and I think that would be more convenient for my schedule. I’ve teleworked before though so I kinda get the process & like you said even on those days, people assume I’m not doing anything lol. Great informative vid 👍🏽
hahaha I know right! It's definitely best for scheduling, and so much work these days can be done remotely. Good luck with school and getting a remote role!
Well done and well said!!
Thank you girl!!
As someone who receives significant stress from social situations due to autism I've been considering remote work much more seriously, and your video helps with forming my view on it, thank you for the video.
I'm so glad! I hope you're able to find a working situation that doesn't trigger your stress response.
Please do some more remote job vlogs real soon! Thanks*
I'll see what I can do! 🤗🤗🤗
Nice tips, I relate to them
Yay, I'm glad!
Even when you work in the office, nobody sees how hard you work. My Supervisor does not pay attention to who is working and who is not working.
That sounds kind of frustrating!
That is so interesting-I’m quiet the opposite I always assume that everyone is super busy and if they are late or call out it’s always for a legit reason. I realize after a decade of being a “working person” LOL that’s not ALWAYS the case but it is my first assumption
I love that Tylean, it's a better way of thinking than my more cynical outlook lol
Me too and im in the military..I learned that ppl are “skating” so after being used & abused, I’m out.
I'm not very good with computers but I think working remotely would be ideal for me do you have a video of any tips and tricks to get started??
Hi Shawn! I don't have any videos but definitely practicing navigating online is a first great step. I got my first job by starting as a part time intern with a nonprofit and I feel like nonprofits are always looking for folks to support them!
This is so good
🥰 Thank you!!!
Thanks for sharing
Thanks for watching!
Thank you !
You're welcome Monroe!!!
Thank you x
Of course Lisa!!!
I am currently a junior in school learning some app development and considering to enter that field in college or through a course after graduating for more experience. However, I do not like spending my life sitting home just typing some code although I liked writing code during summer holidays before junior year. I just do not feel like it will be a good experience being isolated most of your life. Also, my country rarely has any available on-site as well as remote jobs and I am most likely not going to immigrate after graduating for personal reasons.
I definitely struggled with working alone, getting out of my house and working in a cafe and co-working with friends has really helped me. I know you'll find the role that allows you to have the lifestyle you really want!
whats a good job anyone can recommend me to apply to ? i don't have experience working remotely but it's my goal! if anyone knows any link i'd super appreciate it. i'm currently looking on indeed
I’ve been working remotely for a year now and I was wondering how you deal with sitting all day? Do you have a standing desk? If so, what brand/type? Thank you!!
I've never been a standing desk person, but normally I just make sure I get up and walk around/stretch, and I try to incorporate yoga to help with my alignment!
U and I are on the same page I much prefer the ability to stand while I work or even gaming for that matter
please do more!
Sure! On this same topic or something else?
@@chimdi both but I guess now that world is upside down its pretty relevant 😁
I don't have a college degree as I have been working in manufacturing jobs and I wished that there was a job like customer service like for Amazon to help sell musical instruments as I am a professional musician.
I picked up the guitar during quarantine and I bought it from Amazon! I had no idea what I was really doing, so I know your services would add value to people.
Patrick, make a CZcams channel about how to select the right musical instrument for newbies. Do reviews for different budgets, sound quality, what to look for when buying a used instrument, good cheap finds, where to search for instruments, benefits of instruments, where to buy sheet music, quality of reeds or strings, etc
Wow. I’ve been actually considering working remotely. What are the odds of you making a video about it lol maybe it’s a sign
Listen, once you start it makes ZERO sense to go back into the office!
Gotcha gotcha 🙌🏾
Got you on the thumbs up
❤️❤️❤️ I appreciate you!!!
@@chimdi same to you!

How do you know what jobs are real and not just scams. I am currently looking to doing remote jobs so I can be there for my kids, but I can’t just not work. I’m dedicated and hard working, but not a clue on how to start.
I use Google and LinkedIn to tell which companies are real vs. scams! When I worked for nonprofits, I would use job boards like Indeed.
This was helpful! Keep up the good work.
@@pamelawalker3799 ❤️❤️❤️
Can you start remote working with only a high school diploma? I don’t know where to begin.
You can try the different online sites and see what resonates! I think leveraging real life connections if possible goes a long way too
@@chimdi thanks so much! God bless you. 💕
I’m lucky because I work in small businesses remotely. I don’t have to prove myself because if my Boss wants to know what I’m doing and how long I work on it he just checks my sent folder in my mailbox.
What kills me has nothing to do with my co workers. They’re my little Gerbils and so long as they are happy my job is super easy. Even if I have to do coaching we still make it positive.
The things that suck is while the government demands taxes no one else sees your work as “legit”. Banks HATE remote workers. God forbid I don’t work 40 hours a week. I even showed 2 years work history and taxes and it wasn’t good enough for the banks.
PS: fuzzy pjs for the win ;-)
Whew that bank struggle sounds so real!! But its great that your manager has that trust in you.
I wouldn’t even mention that it’s remote work.. I would just act like it’s a regular job
Working from home is hard af these are great tips
ha it definitely can be, still improving after doing it for 5 years! thank you for watching!!
Me searching on CZcams: pros and cons of working remotely.
*scrolls through videos and randomly click yours*
Then the first thing I hear is “hey y’all, it’s Chimdi!”
My mouth dropped! Namesake🥰
Yes, I know it’s a Nigerian name, but it’s very rare for me to meet another Nigerian girl with the name Chimdi. Is your name shortened or is it just Chimdi? Mine is just Chimdi.
💃🏿🕺🏾
CHIMDI!!!!!!!!! GANG GANG!!!!!!!
Mine is also just Chimdi and I've NEVER met another female named Chimdi, the closest I've gotten was when people congratulated me when Chimdi Checkwa was drafted 😩
Should we start a club???
@@chimdi looool! Yes, the football guy, right!?
Let’s do it!!!
@@lilspongie44 haha yaasss
How did you find your job?
I'm pretty sure I used Indeed or Idealist, both are job boards for nonprofits which is what I was focused on at the time.
@@chimdi interesting...
Lol, I'm sorry I was watching multiple videos back to back while working, that wasn't for you, I meant to put: You are better than me because when I was going to school for my technical project management certification I didn't go for the 1 on 1 before discussing the project, I prefer to observe more while being respectful to them.
hahaha I was very confused but I always appreciate when people comment! And I get it, for me I needed to simulate a human environment as much as possible 😂
@@chimdi Lol, well your appreciation is appreciated, it's great that you know what works for you.
