- Working remotely while traveling is not what it seems. Ever since the pandemic hit in 2020, the discourse around working from home, or working remote, has been really glamorized and sold that it's this beautiful experience, without really touching on the challenges of remote work. I'm going to be chatting about what it's like to work from home, and the challenges that come with remote work - both when you work from home, and also when you try to travel and work remotely at the same time.

The big key for me, is that idea of working fast and efficiently. A lot of people think about how LONG they work, I think about how MUCH I GET DONE. Iâm a business owner, so if I really grind, I can get everything done in two hours.
This is great! I'm considering long-term travel since I have a remote job, the main issue I'm forseeing is being limited in specific time zone because of the meetings I have to attend
oh man I'm in the same boat. I'm actually going to Japan in Nov and while I asked for the time off, I'm still going to try a few practice days of a normal work day to see how feasible it is
@@MxAxMar That's a good plan!
Also I completely think that getting dressed is stupid idea for work. Youâll get less blood circulation in âdressy clothesâ, itâll be less comfy, and youâll be less able to think quickly and be high IQ. FOR ME, I like to drink a big glass of water in the morning, do a light 1 or 2 min jog and then stretch my whole body really good. That wakes me up, improves circulation and gets me ready to work!
Getting dressed nicely is only useful if you have video-chat meetings. If youâre just doing emails or online work that doesnât involve video chat, then itâs pointless to dress nicely. Dress COMFORTABLY so you can work better and be more comfortable/less stressed
Even during days when i work in the office, i wear comfy discrete slippers. It helps a lot. Also when i wear sweat pants i feel a lot more relaxed in the chair.
Itâs true. Traveling while working isnât gonna be all fun and games. However for me, *because I love to scuba dive* , I still think itâs great to travel while working. I like the sunlight, exercise, fresh air and excitement I get on vacation and by scuba diving, surfing, etc. Because I make over $200,000 a year, Iâm able to work remotely and travel quite often. I travel/am gone for about 3 months out of the 12-month year.

My job requires hard wired internet is there a way I can travel if my job requires hard wired internet only
do you have to have visa to work and live abroad?? if you are just there for like a month or two
Vacations are for vacations. I donât use them for working. I shut down my machine and donât connect my personal phone to work communication. However if I need to work for 2-3 days out of 3 weeks that Iâd be away then Iâd be ok with it if needed otherwise donât want to think about work.
If you think US has the best wi-fi... you clearly need to travel more đ
Right?!!! When I visited Europe. I had internet faster than the U.S. Xfinity and ATT Fiber in Germany and France.
