If you use a high-end camera and your photos are good, there is nobody that can actually tell what camera they came from. I shoot Canon for the simple reason that I have big hands and I find them the most comfortable to hold - ergonomics made the choice for me. Although if they don't start supporting 3rd-party full-frame lenses soon I might consider living with hand cramps.

I have sold all my Sony gear and switched to Canon.
Used the R5 a couple of times an loved the autofocus. I had a way bigger percentage of shots in focus comparred to my A7R5.
Now I bought the R6ii a camera, it has lower specs on paper but i'm way happier with this body. I have made shots that i could not capture with the Sony.
It makes me shoot and that is the whole purpose of the camera. I miss the 61MP sensort of the A7R5, but love the 40 FPS of the R6ii. I might het the R5ii once it releases and use the R6ii as backup/second camera.

+1 for Pick the system that works for you.
They are all great (except for Pentax) and they all the have their pros and cons.
I used to shoot canon DSLR for years, then moved to RF, and now I’m in the Sony camp.
If you have larger hands, you might find canon more comfortable. Smaller fingers, Sony might be more comfortable. If you don’t have the budget for L glass, then Sony might be a better fit. If you are rich, then go canon. If you prefer compact, go sony. If you prefer an Apple style menu, go canon. If you like granular control of your camera, go Sony.
They’re all good, the same reason we all don’t drive the exact same car. Get what suits your needs. Not everyone needs an A9iii that shoots 120fps, for some an A7Rv with 61 MP is what they need, etc.
The OG R6 is still a great wedding, event body, just sucks trying to buy RF glass.

As a Canon R6 video shooter with a handheld rig setup, the wobbles are absolutely terrible. Even with IBIS turned off, it still wobbles, and looks unprofessional. The Canon C70 is amazing when video, and has five more stops of Dynamic range than the R6, but isn't great and low light. I tried the Sony FX3 last week for the first time, and I need to get one as soon as possible because I'm a wedding filmmaker, and the low light capabilities really helps with exposing footage properly in S-log3 when I can't use my lights.

I had the A7III; it was amazing! Then, after the A7III, I had the A7IV, which was slower and worse in low light compared to the A7III. Now I have the Canon R5, which impresses me every time, I wouldn't go back for 24mpix or 33mpix when I have had 45mpix in my hands, it is just different world with extra reach. I hope they will improve the video features with Canon; Sony is a bit ahead in that area. For stills, Canon is better for the price; it can keep up much better with fast-running dogs than the A7IV or A7III ever did with 20fps+real time eye AF whatever lens is attached have always worked better. The best hit rate I have had is with Canon, at least with dogs and wildlife. If I would get Sony again it would be used A9 mk2 or similar. Please wait for the R5 mk2 before switching systems; it is not always a good idea, especially when Canon has much better colors and good overall value. Also, better ergonomics than Sony has ever had. Or get them both.

With birds eye AF worked great but with people eye AF were in eye lashes or eye brows instead of eyes. Also with dogs there was this issue. Also sometimes there was issues to keep up track with fast running dogs. I didn't have this problem with the A7III. Also burst rate uncompressed raw was only 6fps and with A7III it was 10fps. I've been shooting Canon since the film days.... well, I got my start on a very ancient Minolta that my parents had, but I'm not sure that counts.
Canon and Nikon were camera companies from the start, back when cameras were tools for art rather than tech devices. Both companies excel at making lenses but have followed rather than led the trends when it comes to digital technology. When Sony entered the market, I had a hard time taking them seriously. They were a tech company, not an optics company. Sony is great at making digital sensors, lenses have since caught up. But their cameras still don't feel ergonomically designed for a photographer. Sony has led the mirrorless revolution. Canon and Nikon jumped in late. I feel like the best world is where Sony makes the electronics and Canon/Nikon engineer the lenses and body economics. I suppose that's what Nikon is doing since they buy Sony sensors.
Anyway, the best tool is the one that gets the job done, and obsessing over microspecs of gear gets in the way of creativity.

Nikon and Sony for people who want nice, clean photos. Sony for the better autofocus and nikon for better natural greens but ..... if you want images with amazing characteristics... canon seems like a way to go + the images are so much easier to edit compared to nikon or sony. I used to spend too much time getting basic skin tones to be for my taste. Sony seems like a workhorse but I find that all of the sony sensors have a similar problem with the files - very natural but more focused on people who want images that capture the view as it is vs canon or fuji that tend to make a scene look more interesting with colors and the way sensor reads gamma....

Once you’ve gotten one of these newer full frame mirrorless cameras there’s no point to switching unless you’re bored/have money to spend. They all produce great images and especially for photography it’s a waste of money. I’m Sony biased and have been on their cameras since the a6400 came out (now on the a7s3). If you handed me a canon camera and it had 10bit color just like the a7s3 and shot in 4k I’d be hard pressed to notice a real difference in final outcome for most cases (Outside of lowlight and that the jello in the bg on the canon r5 is crazy so maybe in those cases lmao)

Funniest thing I've heard lately was that Sony shooters are like vegans of the camera industry... annoying and are trying to force everyone around to believe in their ideology 😂

Best system for photog, any. Best or video, not Canon. I've been selling my Canon gear after I tried some Sony cams. I hate the L prices and sizes, IBIS wobbles, heating, lack of any Sigma/Tamron alternatives, lack of Canon Log 2 and so on. I'm out.

      Agreed.
Sony is also VERY aggressive with their marketing especially with social media "influencers" and that plays a big part in it too (and why so many CZcamsrs, etc switch).

@@77dris yeah u can see many youtubers faking video on youtube with title 'why i switch from canon to sony bla bla' as a normal human, i dont think a normal human would go such length to tell the world by making a dedicated video to say they switch system hahahaha

Time for a change: looks like Canon will charge a subscription fee to use it's coming AI in new models. I've been having on again / off again buyer's remorse since swapping from an a6000 system to an R10 (yes, I'm an enthusiast, not a semi-pro). It's a hobby. But yet another subscription? Nope. I just bought an inexpensive wide angle zoom for my little camera, but that's the last new Canon lens I'll ever buy. I'm voting with my money: no to subscriptions.
