BETWEEN SHADES OF GRAY! I read that book in middle school and I remember being blown away by how inspiring it is. I actually frequently remember one of the scenes from that book, and it has been about 5 years since I have read it. So amazing you'll love it!
Between Shades of Grey is phenomenal. I've read it multiple times and each time I fall further and further in love. It centers around humanity's ability to persevere and it's just absolutely wonderful.
I am such a fan of the amulet series! I was actually in the middle of helping my family with something while this video played with no sound, and when I turned back, you were holding it and I gasped so loudly that my brother actually thought something was wrong.
I swear whenever I watch you guys I am like "take my money, give me da books". Its really great that through a load of booktubers I have gotten back into reading after my thesis (which kills your will to want to read the written word ever again!)
Omg!!! Best book haul ever!! I like literally just jumped up and down when you showed Heir of Fire!!! So excited for you!! Happy reading!!! :) can't wait for all the reviews!!
So jealous you got Heir of Fire! I know it's going to be amazing. Also, The Crucible in a boarding school? YES PLEASE. I can't wait to see what you think of it.
I love Simon omg it's so cool that more german people are on booktube now like go germany!! :D I just read The Murder Complex last week and it was soooo awesome! It's one of my new favorite dystopians
You're so lucky to get an advanced copy of Landline, I haven't read a Rainbow Rowell book but the premise to Landline seems so cool. Great haul, you got so many books that are on my wishlist right now
Rainbow Rowell and Diana Wynne Jones in one haul - yes! I adore the Howl's Moving Castle film but it kind of weirded out my brain when I realised it was meant to be sort of Welsh/British countryside and not Japan. This, despite the fact that I'd already read other Wynne Jones books and, well, duh. :D
I love The Crucible too! And I read Between Shades of Gray in 2011 or 2012 and it still sticks to me today. Really love that book and hope you enjoy it too xoxo
Howl's Moving Castle is probably my favorite book ever. I kind of got out of the reading habit for a while, but when I read Howl's Moving Castle it renewed my interest in reading and made me a bookworm again!
I love reading about World War Two and I've read so many books about it because my grandma and grandpa were there! You have a lot of great recommendations and it makes me want to read in English again !
I remember loving the Septimus Heap series when I was younger! I hope you'll enjoy it too:) Sometimes I forget I'm not the only german person on the internet ... YAY FOR INTERNATIONAL CONNECTIONS
Between Shades of Gray was one of my favorite books of last year. I even did a book talk on it for my English class (I think I was the only one excited about the project lol). I hope you enjoy it!
Yay for Septimus Heap! I loved that series. I still have to read the last one, Fyre, but the first 6 are amazing. They always give me that feeling of being a kid again and believing in magic and adventure. The covers are epic. I just finished Ruin and Rising and loved it. What? You got Heir of Fire!? Man I want that so bad. Awesome haul
Regan totally nailed apocalyptic! Wait... does this mean the apocalypse is about to happen? Where's my apocalypse hat and glove. Oh, and £1.99 is equivalent to $3.37. I'm a maths magician!
I love love love Howl's moving castle. I read the book first and was so excited when a movie was made and I loved the movie too. It was such a good adaptation. This book made me start reading Diana Wynne Jones' books. I just "read" the book again in audiobook and I still love it.
You are such a funny and lovely person!! =) I really love watching your videos!! It's a huge haul! I bought just 5 books for the next month.......Ok, let's be honest, it's 7 books....and i think it's all i can read during my short summer! AH AH AH! Have a nice week! PS. I love you top! It's so beautiful!
Sweet Evil is so AMAZING!! It's one of my favorites! And Kaiden 😍😍😍 I can't wait to read Ruin and Rising I've heard such good things about it!!! I CAN'T BELIEVE YOU HAVE HEIR OF FIRE Im so jealous :)
Ok, I just watched further! The Stonekeeper graphic novels I also loved when I was a a little bit younger. It was my first graphic novel series, and I was obsessed with the illustrations. So beautiful! The other ones are great too. I'm so excited! Throwback Thursday for me.(It's thursday lol for those in the future who may read this.)
So many great books!!! I'm so excited for you to read Maus. It's so good!! I also loved Magyk. I stopped reading after the first three but they were awesome! I also loved the artwork in Amulet! I believe he was the illustrator of the new Harry Potter covers but I'm not sure. I need to get my hands on Locke and Key. It sounds amazing!
Definitely need to pick up Scandal! Also very, very excited to hear your thoughts on Landline. Maus is one of my favourite, favourite things of all time so I really hope you enjoy it - I think the fact that it's an autobiography/biography really makes it even more awesome. (Separate note: I absolutely LOVE your top!)
If you're looking for Historical Fiction, I would recommend: The Devil's Arithmetic by Jane Yolen. It is a children's historical book but it's so deep. It's about a teenage girl Jewish girl named Hannah who is joining her family for the Seder meal on Easter. A big part of the Seder meal is remembering all that Jews have gone through, and Hannah is tired of remembering and sort of fed up with being Jewish and wants to be Catholic like her friend, Rosemary. When she opens the door for Elijah, she is teleported back in time. And if you've ever seen the movie The Green Mile with Tom Hanks, you can just imagine the setting even though The Green Mile and Devil's Arithmetic are in no way related. But anyway, she is teleported back in time and is headed to a wedding and she and her new family plus everyone at the wedding is taken by Nazis and put on a train with no food and water for four days and then are put in a concentration camp. Yes, it'll make you cry. Also, The Watch That Ends The Night: Voices From The Titanic by Allan Wolff. It is a poetry historical book, but it reads like a regular book. I swear, if you read this book, you'll fall in love with it. It's about different passengers (and not just passengers, they are poems from the kitchen rat on the ship and THE ICEBERG THAT SANK THE TITANIC AND THE UNDERTAKER WHO TAKES THE DEAD BODIES FROM THE WRECKAGE) on the Titanic and how they feel about being on the grandest ship in the world. YES IT IS AMAZING. YES IT WILL MAKE YOU CRY AND FEEL ALL THE FEELINGS. And Pearl Harbor by Randall Wallace. If you've seen the movie with Ben Affleck, Josh Hartnett, and Kate Beckinsale, it's like the movie but better. And more historically accurate. It is heartwarming and it will make you so proud to be an American. It's just so good. It's my favorite book, it'll make you cry.
Awesome haul! Oh, that "Percy Jackson" box set is so pretty. The spines are lovely. I really hope you enjoy "Maus." It was actually the first graphic novel I read (ironically enough, for a literature class) and it got me into reading more graphic novels. I've heard so many fantastic things about "Between Shades of Gray." I'd love to get that in the future.
So many awesome books! That graphic novel looks great, I've added it to my wishlist and excited to buy it :D Also cannot wait for Landline, I'm really looking forward to it being a more adult read.
Oh my gosh! You will not be disappointed with reading Howl's Moving Castle!! You should definitely read the other two companion novels: Castle in the Sky and House of Many Ways. Both of which are fabulous!!!!
Howl's Moving Castle is one of my favorite books!! I've read it seven times since 2010 and every time I discover something new about the story and the characters... It's the greatest "show, don't tell" book I've ever read. And it's much, much better than the movie.
I absolutely love Howl's Moving Castle. I have the same cover as yours except my copy is well worn and read. It's definitely one of my favourite books. So damn good.
My words are incoherent because the moment you mentioned Howls Moving Castle, I fangirled. I fangirled because the Howls Moving Castle movie adaptation is also my favorite film by Studio Ghibli. Which then spurred on my need to read the book. Upon reading the book I learned that the film did not stick completely true to the book, which is sad because the book is phenomenal! But nevertheless, I completely adore this book and I hope that you enjoy it too! (I'm so happy for you!! :D) I hope to see your review of this book soon!
Great haul!! I'm so excited for you reading Heir of Fire haha :) historical fiction for me is a nice in between fantasy reads because yeah sometimes the story doesn't latch on if all i read is fantasy... Oh! Septimus Heap i have those, it's a cute middle grade series :) HAppy Reading! and your birthday is so very near!!! xo
Lol when I got Heir of fire. I had the same reaction. Like I didn't stop smiling nor did I put it down . Amazing haul I so want to read sweet evil series
The Septimus Heap is really great, I hope you like them! And I can't wait for Landline, I love Rainbow Rowell. Ruin and Rising was so great, I know you'll like it (the ending was a bit off the wall, but it was still cool). The Murder Complex was really good too.
I actually enjoyed magyk! I just finished it! There are parts in the beginning that are slow , but it was just explaining so the ending would make sense! The ending was fast paced! I really want to continue the series!
A Gift to Remember by Melissa Hill is such an amazing book. It's cute but not sickly cute, the love story isn't shoved in your face all of the time. Her books are always fantastic and if you like this one then you should read Something from Tiffany's by her. I hope you enjoy the book.
Amulet looks so good! Please do a small review on Prince of Thorns, I'm so interested in this book. Love the new background by the way! And your blouse, beautiful!
If you're into witchcrafty type books, I would highly recommend the Blue is for Nightmares series by Laurie Faria Stolarz! It's basically about a girl who has premonitions that help her solve murders.
Fun fact, Shadow & Bone by Leigh Bardugo was first published in the UK under the title "The Gathering Dark" and a completely different (but beautiful) cover. I bought it solely from the cover without knowing it was actually the Shadow & Bone-book everyone was talking about, haha :P
I'm so jealous of Scandal and Landline!!! If you like Landline, you might want to try Gimme a Call by Sarah Mlynowski. Landline sounds a lot like it so yeah :)
I love your book hauls! :) I hope you'll do a review on the first Septimus Heap book because I'm also super interested in it! And I'm totally excited for Landline. THE PERCY JACKSON BOXED SET IS SO PRETTY!
