I'm a pastor of 30 years. In my suburban parish of 2100 families, when we opened after the covid lockdown. I started immediately administrating communion along the rail. Over the last few years more n more kneel and receive on the tongue. It has had great fruit.
I also offer the TLM (along with the N.O.) no one who has tasted the old wine would say the new is better.

I went to confession and mass last Monday on my day off at another parish,my priest is away home due to family bereavement, please pray for him and his family. At this parish there was Benedictions, haven't seen that in years at ours and,two kneelers in from of the altar to take the Eucharist kneeling down and in the mouth. I almost cried. It was wonderful and very reverential. Bring back the old traditions.

My priest does the TLM and NO. I have to say it seems so weird like it's two different religions. Everything at the NO seems geared towards the laity and it's so loud with all the songs etc.

The mysterious death of PopeJohn Paul was either caused by a heart attack due to a loud intense argument w/Bagio when JP I asked Bagio to leave the Vatican and to fill the vacancy that he left in Milan or of poisoning as presented in Taylor Marshall’s book, Infiltration . The pope was found dead lying in bed with a book and his glasses nearby. (How odd!! A setup to look like a peaceful death?

Yes, I would very much like an investigation as the opposition to the Church is “too” powerful and is in the hierarchy. Too many of them are political priest who do not believe in the Teachings of JESUS or in GOD. They NEED to be ousted.
Please help us return to the Liturgy of our forefathers, which so HONORED our GOD, the words in the TRADITIONAL MASS.❤

Our parish just reinstalled communion rails along with instructions and request for Communion on the tongue. We attend a Latin Mass as well and know, but it has been so long, only the old people know how to line up so the priest is not waiting! Father does not need any more Eucharistic ministers and he also moved the high altar back to the center several years ago and celebrates Ad Orientum regularly. We have requested that for all our weddings!
The high altar containing the tabernacle, got moved to the side, secretly at night in 1965. I am now 72 and feel so privileged to have lived the full cycle of things returning back to how this church was in my youth. We must be faithful and patient. All our 7 children remained faithful Catholics and married the same, so our 30+ grandkids are being raised in our beautiful Faith. It can still be done!

it never left, Unfortunately it just became less important to "busy" people. I grew up with it. people who couldn't be bothered to learn a very few prayer responses in a TLM Mass, were happy to have the church sanction an "easy way" to attend the required Mass, complaining that they didn't know latin anyway. I thught that it was ironic that people said it would be better for people to hear the Mass in their own language, but I say, before Vatican 2, you could go anywhere in the world, and know exactly what was happening in the Latin Mass. Sorry I got so windy, Anmarie

Some interesting facts about Bishop Bruskewitz and Bishop Conley: in the 1990's I was involved in the Prolife Rescue Movement in Wisconsin. Monsignor Bruskewitz was the pastor of a parish in Milwaukee Wisconsin that hosted our group the night before our Rescue at an abortuary in Milwaukee. I will always remember that Monsignor Bruskewitz had a Perpetual Adoration Chapel in his Church, which was quite rare at that time. Bishop Conley was a priest/chaplin at Wichita State University during the "Summer of Mercy" Rescues of preborn children in 1991. He celebrated a special Mass for us on the Feast of the Triumph of the Cross prior to the last Rescue attempt performed by 12 of us. This Rescue landed us in prison for 4 months for contempt of Federal Judge Patrick Kelly's court. In my humble opinion, there is no coincidence that these were/are outstanding faithful Bishops

Yes, yes, yes! Fr. Murr is absolutely right about receiving Communion while kneeling, in the mouth. I grew up in communist Poland, church was the only place where you could feel like a human, not a cog in a machine. We always have been receiving kneeling, on tongue, remembering that our God is worthy of all reverence and glory.
That needs to be brought back to church, not some happy clappy pep rally!

The bishops are weak because they are bureaucrats They think all scandals/problems can be handled through administrative acts and public relations. This is the way they are trained. When it comes to getting what they want or covering up scandals, they suddenly gain strength. They are still trying to cover up things that they might find embarrassing.

I am a lapsed catholic and unfortunately because I am gay I can never return to the church I love. However, the thing that turned me away from the church I love was that devotion to the Eucharist was being devalued. The use of the vernacular mass, the introduction of lay ministers and special Eucharistic ministers giving out communion was abhorrent to me. I believe strongly in transubstantiation the body and blood of our saviour and lord Jesus Christ. No person other than an ordained priest should administer communion and the Host should only be placed on the tongue. None of us are clean enough to touch the body of Christ except from the hands of an anointed priest. May the lord bless all those who keep to the true traditions of faith. I pray for forgiveness for my sins. Holy Mary mother of God pray for me and those souls who like me have lost their faith in the church but not in your beloved son our true saviour Jesus Christ 🙏🏻

What a great interview subject! Thoroughly enjoyed the listen. A constructive comment - there were so many instances where the host (Joe) spoke over or interrupted Fr. Murr, which was disruptive to his storytelling. Please be mindful to listen more and speak less going forward, even if it means you ask less questions and plan another follow-on interview (always welcome!) to address them later.

Fr. Murr's book is excellent and I highly recommend it as a fascinating peek into what was going on in the Vatican in the 80s and 90s. But if I were Fr. Murr and valued life as I'm certain he does, I'd be "vague and uncertain" about what exactly happened to Pope John Paul 1 on his 33rd night as pope too.

No person should ever touch the Holy Eucharist. A priest's finger and thumb are consecrated in order to touch the consecrated Host.

Excellent conversation. I could not agree more with everything you are both saying, especially on reverence for the Blessed Sacrament. My only mild disagreement is with regard to Deacons. When Deacons are formed correctly... of course one could speak a long time about that all by itself... they are a great asset to the church. Deacons are not the savior of the church only Jesus is, but there are many generous Deacons who give their all for the church to lead souls back to Christ and back to reverence. They get next to no respect from the laity or the Bishops for the most part. They work tirelessly and for no recompense. Work definately needs to be done on formation in many dioceses. When the vocation of the Diaconate is taken more seriously, the church will be more likely to form them similar to the way Priests are formed. When that day comes, Deacons will become a greater and greater help to the Priests and Bishops. Leading souls back to reverence and back to God.

The Papacy is the institution. The PONTIFICATE is the period of service as Pope. John Paul I's PONTIFICATE lasted 33 days. The Papacy has existed since the time of St. Peter.

As it is said in scripture every knee shall bend in the presence of the Lord Jesus Christ, now isn’t that what all Catholics should be doing if they truly believe that our God and Lord Jesus is truly in the Eucharist and In all the other sacraments of the One Holy Apostolic Catholic Christian Church Of Tradition and Worship
