- Nikola Jokic just won his 3rd MVP trophy in 2024, joining only 8 other players in NBA history that have 3 or more. That line alone said about any player, can mean that player must be one of the all time greats, and must have a great story of success, where they had some DNA or pedigree in them at a young age and dominated at all levels throughout their lives, continuing to have success into the NBA. Except for Jokic he wasn’t exactly a child prodigy or expected to even play basketball as a young child, growing up a harness racing lover, a sport he competed in intensely as an ammeter, and passion he still enjoys today, maybe even more than winning championships. Not to mention he somehow fell not just to the second round of the NBA draft, but late second round being the 41st pick overall. Late spots usually reserved for stash over foreign prospects, which Jokic himself was, or guys that will likely never see an NBA floor. For him to grow from that to where he is today, were he’s literally turned himself into one of the most dominant players to ever play the game, and arguably the best player in the league currently at 29 years old, to me makes his story #1 when it comes to unexpected growth spurt. To me if the Nuggets win the championship this year he is better than LeBron, Durant and Wade, because he will have won 2 NBA Championships, 3 MVPs, 2 Finals MVPs and he never had to "take his talents" to another team or team up with any other all stars to do it.

Rule changes in 2017/18 season, no defense is allowee now, higher tempo and shots taken like 1960s and 3rd reason would get into conspiracy, but many notice the game looks and feels fake now, Multiple 70 point performances looked fake. Embid, Mitchell, doncic, lilard, etc

You know what? I always wondered how it’s possible to have a draft every year!? But the crazier part is that it all works out in the end! Because so many players get drafted YET only a handful are truly successful in the league and stay In the league. A lot of players either go down to Gleague or china 😳 it’s just insane thinking about how ur dream is to be in the nba and once you get there, you just aren’t good enough to stay

I respect Jokic but the humble narrative is crazy IIRC he picked himself self on a allstar team when Lebron and curry coached he just walked on bron team that aint exactly humble.
