Took a lot of 3’s because he shot a very high percentage. I would have too. That means you are a marksman. But to say he “didn’t have killer instinct” is not entirely true. Toronto management sucked and never really help VC with talent. VC was carrying the teams all the time. It’s only so much you can do by yourself. Look at MJ as well. His nicknames should be on his hall of fame jacket tool!! Vinsanity, Air Canada and Half Man-Half Amazing.
How did you not include the biggest stunt of his career ...injuries? His ACL/ jumper's knee injuries kept him out for a lot of games thus resulting in the Raptors losing. That was why the Raptors failed to make the playoffs during his final 2.5 seasons. It also stunted his growth as he lost a lot of his lateral quickness and some explosiveness that he had earlier in his career. VC was headed down the same path as Penny, Rose, And G.Hill from 02-04 when he was constantly getting injured. Thankfully, he changed his diet and incorporated pre and post game routines to salvage his career.
His longevity will get him in, I think he's pretty far up there on the made 3pt list too. But he doesn't deserve to be first ballot because he never beat anyone when it mattered.
You obviously don’t know enough about Vince. He was just not part of a great team. He was clutch and very talented. Vince sacrificed to get a ring for playing time. He didn’t want to win riding the bench. He was way more impactful than his numbers. He stepped aside and mentored younger players.
I've struggled with this subject for years and gotten into heated debates on Carter's place in the Hall of Fame. The man was largely responsible for lifting basketball into major prominence in Canada. His dunks were legendary, unbelievable charisma, excellent shooter, and can take over a game when needed. The way I look at his career is as gifted he was in basketball, there were times he lacked the desire to become even greater than Kobe Bryant. Carter admitted that he didn't play hard to his ability at times. His teams didn't win enough to warrant HOF status. But also he left Toronto on very bad terms. From my perspective, Carter doesn't cut it as a Hall of Famer. But I believe he'll get in because of his good guy reputation, plus Tracy McGrady got in on the first ballot and underachieved even more than Carter. It's a very different subject and I know many people will have different opinions.
There are a lot of things wrong in this video: 1. You said at the 8:27 mark that VC was traded from the nets to the magic and then to phoenix all within the same season, that is completely wrong. VC got traded from the nets to the magic in 09 offseason, played an ENTIRE season with the magic, went to the ECF with dwight howard as second leading scorer on that team, and then half of the magic roster was traded the FOLLOWING season, at the end of the year. 2. You say he joined bottom feeder teams at the time, "atlanta hawks, sacremento kings and memphis grizzlies". Again wrong, the memphis grizzlies went to the western conference playoffs in all 3 seasons that vince was there and even made it to the 2nd round in 2014-2015, and took gsw to 6 games that season, the only team to do so. 3. You fail to mention that out of VCs entire career the only time he's ever really had a Center was his 1 season with Dwight Howard (made ECF that season). Before that VC never had a true center, AI had defensive player of the year dikembe mutombo in 01, Wade had Shaq, Kobe had Shaq, who has VC had? I didn't think that I'd have to call you out on a video before, but this just makes me feel like your videos may have other errors like these. He also was not waived by the suns, he had a contract year with them and played out his contract with them then in the offseason signed with the mavericks for 3 years. Get your facts straight man.
He put my city on the basketball map!!! He put the whole country on the list as well... The only time I’ve EVER heard the lyrics of the National Anthem get a remix was the first Toronto home game after the 2000 dunk off (the second last line got switched from “oh Canada we stand on guard for thee” to “Vince Carter you are amazing!!!” Truth be told... He was!!! Hall of Famer... First Ballot!!! I hope they don’t fuck this up.
His biggest stunt was chasing a check over a ring. He took roster spots on bad teams where he could have helped other guys who weren't NBA material get a shot to make some NBA money then play overseas after they get expose in real NBA games.
um he wasnt chasing a check over a ring, where did that come from?? He just wanted playing time which was promised to him, and isn't promised on a championship roster. He was playing on vet minimum and getting 20-25 mpg. He didnt want to ride the bench his way to a championship.
He was the face of the league for first 5 years, a star for another five years on nets, and a respectable role player for 12. How huge he was in his prime combined with his willingness to stick around forever to fall from stardom but still be respected for his skills on the court at 40 should all be easily justified as a YES
Vince definitely the best underachiever in the history of basketball. He was athletic, but had absolutely no heart. Despite the obvious, he might be able to sneak into the hof based solely off of the length of his career.
Toronto Basketball wouldn't be where it's at today without Vince Carter. 8-time All-Star, 2-time All-NBA, and 2000 Olympic Gold Medalist. Definitely a Hall of Famer. First ballot is debatable, but he should get in.

I remember during when I was in Middle School at the Steve Francis Basketball Camp in Takoma Park, MD(I won MVP for my age bracket as we won the Camp Tournament). Anyway, Steve Francis and David Vanterpool(who is a MoCo MD legend and former NBA Player and Coach), had a Q&A for us at the end of the camp. It was asked was Kobe or Vince the next MJ. What they said stuck with me-Kobe wasn't as stylish as MJ was at the time but can grow into it, Vince had the exciting play style but lacked the drive and hunger to hit the levels he was expected to. Vince is a HOF but that lack of drive to be the face of the league which Kobe became more or less sums him up. Great job @StuntedGrowth
For sure Vince is a hall of famer. Perhaps he should have accomplished more, but what he brought to the game during his career is more than enough to get in.

DEFINITELY HOFER...If not 1st ballot, then 2nd or 3rd easily. He was better than TMAC if we being honest, at least longevity wise. TMAC had higher peaks (scoring champ, etc), but Vince was more consistent for a longer period.
I remember watching the 2000 dunk contest and losing my mind when he put his whole arm in the rim. I tried to duplicate it the next day and almost broke my arm. 😄 Hall of famer? Eventually.
As a Raptor fan and a West end Native, He turned the city up. That body on Zo is unreal..he is a top 3 game dunker IMO..I think it's MJ overall, because there were real centers. if TMAC got in, especially 1st ballot..Vince should get in as well. That situation in 01, with his graduation before Game 7 v Philly will always hurt.
Top 3 in game dunker? Definitely Number 1 overall in game dunker. The bodies he has are insane...That one you mentioned on Zo (even though he was on the nets for that one :) ) and the one he has on Mutombo are just insane.
If Mitch Richmond can get into the HOF based off of getting buckets on lottery teams then VC shouldn’t be an issue to be inducted with all he’s accomplished and his influence.
Vince was a great player but what declined his comparison to Kobe & Jordan was the lack of defense & leadership. Throughout his career, I was hoping he would add more to his game but he didn't. Nevertheless, I'm still a fan!
Kobe and leadership in the same sentence?🤦♂️ Jordan?😭...I'll admit Vince didn't have that mean streak or assh*le gene in him. In his prime he put up numbers, and at one time he was the most popular player in the league, a perennial allstar, went to the NBA finals and became one of the best 3point shooters of his era.

Vince Carter is without doubt first ballad HOF. He was one of the many players that was considered the next Jordan
He'll get in on the first ballot. Dunks are so important to the popularity of basketball that of course the best dunker of all time should be in the hall of fame. Also, playing more seasons than any other player is reason enough to be in the hall of fame.
Do this for Robert Horry, me and my homies always debating if Horry will go in HOF...
💯
Horry on stats isn't getting in lol. Horry playing on three franchise level teams to get 7?? I'd say 50/50.
Stats wise hell no
WITHOUT A DOUBT HELL YES
Vince is definitely a hof ...that boy was cold
I think he's maybe HOF, but only thing I know for sure he's the best player to come out of UNC in 4 decades
This is the basketball Hall, he will get in.
I love your videos! You deserve so many more subscribers. Thanks for what you do. So in depth. Plus I love the music. I've literally gone to bed after your videos before and hear it in my head. It's very relaxing lol.
Eventually.
Salute to Vince Carter💯💯
His dunks overshadowed him foreal
It’s people in the hall less deserving than Vince , He def first ballot
If Mitch Richmond can get into the HOF based off of getting buckets on lottery teams then VC shouldn’t be an issue to be inducted with all he’s accomplished and his influence.
As a small forward ,his handles is pretty decent but one thing that frustrates me when it comes to his game is that he loves to settle for jumpers
He played 20 games in the 04-05 for the raptors before going to the nets that year
Great breakdown and I totally agree that he should be in the hall even if not right away
I will say because of his dunking ability which makes him very rare and unique yes he is a HOF player for sure just off his athletic ability to dunk!
Vince belongs in the Hall
I'll put it like this, if T-Mac got in then Vince Carter will get in. He is memorable, has some good moments and people like him. So he'll get in.
You cannot tell the story of basketball without Vince Carter...he first ballot Hof
Kobe was such a great marketer.
Sorry, but for me. He's absolutely a hall of fame basketball player. Carter is definitely a player that shouldn't be forgotten . He's positively influenced 1000s of young potential basketball players. I wouldn't be surprised if that number was over 100,000 young people.
He is definitely a first ballot, but what might hold him back is the rings.
What kind of question is that, is Vince Carter is a HOFer, did Bishop kill Raheem?
If tmac and Webber just made it. Vince is in.
DUNKS, 7footer, thru the legs= classic moments = HOF
Wait a minute....20 seconds talking about his NJ run smh?...probably his best stretch hooping alongside JKidd.
Excellent job sir 👏
If Yao Ming is in the hall of fame...then Vince Carter most definitely is!
Great video
I use to pray to be able to dunk like Vince lol.
Vince Carter is definitely worthy of The Hall Of Fame.
Vince is hall of famer. Vince put the Raptors on the platform!
Of course Vince Carter is a first ballot hall of famer. If he had played for the knicks, Celtics, Lakers, etc. this wouldn't even be a question.
In my opinion the greatest dunker of all time
Big Dawg I think you should do the Ray Mercer Story
No question!
Put some Respect on vince Carter names all time greatest dunkers of all time and plus the all time Tornado Raptors ever Idc About The Claw Had gave there first title Vince Carter put Canada on the map
Yes he is a Hall of famer!!! in My opinion
Although I do think Vince was an underachiever, he still is a Hall OF Famer in my book...Side Note....Shaq was an underachiever too in my book
I'll agree with you on that.
He put Toronto on the map let’s start there
I’m shocked that he went to only 2 all league selections
