Today we discuss the awakening of the Emperor of Mankind! And all the sightings of him thus far...
General Spoiler Warning to begin as we will be discussing events from across the Warhammer 40,000 lore universe! So you have been warned! As always I really recommend you read the stories for yourself first, as that's the best way to enjoy the lore for yourself! The Necrons got their Silent King back, Chaos got several Primarchs as Daemon Princes, the Eldars are on the very brink of bringing Ynead to life and they have Cegorach and several other surviving Eldar gods (Isha included, even tho she's a prisoner), the Tyrannids are getting more and more numerous as if the hive fleets started arriving in earnest, and the Orks are slowly growing up the largest waagh ever seen since the Beast under the leadership of Gazghul Thraka..
IT IS TIME that the Emperor wakes up!
I feel like it'll take another 5 years for it all to really come to fruition but it is exciting.
Dark eldar are some of my favorites, but honestly, the eldar in general are a dying/dead race. they're about as relevant as some random tribe deep in the jungle. they're just there. you know they're there, but they amount to nothing. I would love to see the eldar come back but its not really possible. I fully expect they'll continue to fade away, much to my unhappiness.

Ynead is a real hope for them, because if Slaanesh is gone, it will SEVERELY weaken the forces of chaos, and most importantly, the eldars won’t have to worry neary as much about protecting their souls from she who thirsts.
Also, Ynead as a god would protect them, ensuring their survival at the very least
@@anenfairy4996 Did you not pay attention to the new plot they just introduced that sets out a clear path for the eldar to become the strongest faction almost immediately? They probably have the easiest/most achievable win condition of all factions right now, save maybe the necrons.

I think they are going to get a little nervous, I bet the Emperor is gonna smack the shit out of a few of them for the needless slaughter of loyal servants for basically...They looked at us funny. I can't stand Custodes so up front I admit I am biased.
@@TheOldOwl8 The Emperor isn’t depicted as really caring about his loyal servants. If anything, he’d probably agree with them murdering for the sake of caution. Very similar to how he ran things when he was around.

I would say more Loyalist Primarch are likely before we see Big E but its all just specualtion at this point a lot of hinting at his main man Constantin Valdor coming back so maybe he will have a cure for Big E.

@THE EMPEROR The number may actually be even _higher_ than that since I did remember reading/hearing a couple times about the daily number increasing to *4,000* psykers a day. So like depending on when the amount needed to be sacrificed started increasing and at what rate it did so (continuously in a smooth curve, in steps like stairs, or some combination of both?). Now, I'll admit that I'm just going to pull a number from my butt here but in theory though it's possible that upwards of 10,000,0000,000 or more psykers being sacrificed by this point in time. Likely not the case, but it's certinaly not outside the relams of possibly (or at least being close) given that we don't really have a soild timeline about when the needed daily sacrifice of psykers started inceasing.
Of course I am unsure if these daily sacrifices mentioned in the lore actually accounts for those in the Chamber of the Astronomican (the 10,000 psykers known as the Chosen). I've read that if a psyker can achive this a of mystic state then they becone of the Chosen and afterwards they'll only last between 2 to 3 months before dying, with about a 100 or so Chosen dying each day. So assuming that the chosen are not normally counted as part of the daily sacrifice, then that's an additional 365,250,000 pskers over 10,000 years (asssuming that 100 of the Chosen consistantly die each day).
Actually on second thought maybe that 10 billion number isn't so far fetched after all.....
I guess the Emperor's snooze button on his alarm clock has finally broken after 10,000 years of constant abuse. ; )

Kitten hasn't been able to maintain the Golden Alarm Clock, being on Mars and all.
The biggest theory with the alpha legion taking the beacon is that they are under the orders of Omegon, atleast the theory im hoping for. Having Omegon slowly undermine chaos from the inside would be amazing and one of the best long games in 40k.

Apparently, according to alpharius’ primarch book, alpharius has actually been Omegon the entire time. Rho did a vid about it not too long ago

The theory that the Alpha Legion is secretly loyal because Omegan was secretly loyal makes the most sense. Which it makes sense for the Emperor to trust the Alpha Legion since he knows Omegan is loyal. Trouble with Omegan he has to pretend to most of his Legion that he is a traitor, only a select few who have been loyal know of Omegan's loyalty to the Emperor.
In truth omegon is alpharius and alpharius is omegon. The one who died by the hand of Dorn is Omegon, not Alpharius

The chaos gods. I can't remember which novel it is from but there is a book where an AI from the future came back to warn humanity that chaos wins but since it was an AI they destroy it.
I feel like this whole time the emperor has been building his power and just waiting for the right moment to reawaken and with guilliman’s return that moment is now when humanity finally has a chance for hope he’s going to unleash his power for one final push to save humanity

im inclined to believe this is the emperor himself because guilliman spoke directly with him, this may have awakened him from his slumber in some shape or form and would explain why hes become so active after thousands of years dormant.

The Emperor must be a perpetual so by pulling the plug The Emperor should be reborn anew....... In theory anyway ... ?
Well his current physical body is too badly damaged to regenerate, so he'd have to respawn himself elsewhere. Problem though is 2 fold:
1) if you pull the plug earth will be destroyed by Vulkan's Doomsday bomb under the throne (a last fuck you to chaos so earth doesn't turn into the Eye of Terra).
2) The emperor's psychic power has grown too far to be constrained to a physical body. If his body dies, his soul will ascend into the Chaos God of Order and Hope, which he doesn't want because it'd prove Lorgar right.
The Emperor doesn't want to be a God.
Funny because that is becoming inevitable. The Golden Throne is failing not because it's old, but because the Emperor is becoming too powerful and he's the one breaking it. If the throne shuts down, he ascends. If he ascends, Chaos loses. He'd become more that strong enough to delete Nurgle, Slaanesh, Tzeench and Khorne from existence

@@phantomwraith1984 Vulkan was thrown into a starships enginarium core and disintegrated and he reformed. If vulkan could reform from nothing then the emperors body should be no issue if he does not have to hold the webway closed and power the astronomicon.

Alpharius Lives!!! He was the first primarch found not Horus. Omegon was the last primarch found. Black Library designed it to be this way hence( alpha- omega). Alpharius switched places with Omegon when he was found and they pretended to be eachother to confuse everyone coz thats what Alpha legion does. So it was in fact Omegon who was killed by Dorn and Alpharius is stll alive and still loyal to the Emperor, hence why the Emperor allows them to take the beacon. "But this too, may be, a lie" - Alpha Legion.
Honestly, look back to GW's line. It's all canon but not all true. Seems like a spin on the Alpha Legion Standard Operating Procedure
I would say otherwise. More like Alpharius was last while Omegon was first or even never removed from Terra. In the novel it is said that Omegon felt his brother die, killed by Dorne. Even if we add that XX can switch bodies apparently Alpha is dead. From my headcanon Alpharius pulled most of XX into Chaos due to Cabal and Omegon remains loyal and undermines all Chaos actions while remaining undercover. But hey, it's Alpha Legion and they are known for doing everything *JUST AS PLANNED*

Bit late on the draw here but that gives me the idea that Big E sounds like abridged Alucard.
I would very much enjoy it if the that Alpha Legion war band ended up doing the emperors biding, only realize it after the job is complete. A taste of their own medicine.

OK seriously. The main reason the emperor is awakening is because the hope that Gullimen brought.. The hope of finally reaching the big tiddy space elves in the webway 😂

Honestly that might not be too farfetched, they might be the solution to bring the Emperor back to physical form, although they'll need a very good reason to do so knowing full well that bringing him back would relight the imperiums flame and the Imperium might be able to return to Pre-HH state, a force that might spell the end of the Eldar if things swing against them so they'll keep that tucked well away until they've got literally no other options
@@Voron_Aggrav The only reason the Emperor was all mass-genocidal when it comes to aliens was that none of them could be counted on to coexist with Humanity in the long run. If, however, the Ynnari and the Imperium can be made to rise together and complement each other in the grand project of finally defeating Chaos, that attitude might be reversed. Hell, the Tau Empire's nascent "God of the Greater Good" (created by their client and slave races, not strictly Tau but whatever) might also be amenable to joining the project. If things continue along this trajectory, I can see a "pantheon of Order" arising to try and pull the galaxy in a *slightly* more noblebright direction.

To be fair, the beacon would be at least safer (alive) in the hands of the Alpha Legion. The World Eaters would kill it on sight.
The one thing to note is that the Emperor didn't seem to start acting until Gulliman stood in front of the Golden Throne, Gulliman went through a lot of trouble to make it to Terra while he seemed to move far quicker then any Crusade should be able during the indomitus crusade. This would imply The Emperor was unaware of Gulliman's Revival while the Chaos Gods did notice immediately implying to the Emperor's consciousness being scattered and broken still and it wasn't until Gulliman stood before the Thone, the very physical anchor of the Emperor that he truly became aware that one of his sons was with him again and in turn after 10,000 years caused the Emperor to finally focus on something. This in turn has allowed the Emperor to finally begin pulling himself together in a spiritual sense as for 10,000 year's all he's been turn is trying to keep the millions of brush fires from burning Humanity to the ground and keep the lights on. Now he see's a path that he didn't know would be a option for him and is now beginning to move in one direction rather then a thousand.

The Doom Slayer killed God. LITTERAL God, as in the one who created all of existence. Granted said god had a little over half his power stolen and that stolen power was given to the Doom Slayer, but even so he would be a multiversal threat at MINIMUM. So the Doom Slayer stomps the Emperor in terms of raw power.
As for general toughness, the Doom Slayer fought the Demons in Hell non-stop for eons until he was tricked and placed in his cursed sarcophagus. And the Slayer Testimates litterally state, "He chose the path of perpetual torment, and in his ravenous hatred he found no peace..." meaning he was suffering the entire time he was in Hell yet he just kept killing. So I would argue his will is just as strong as the Emperor's.

It's gone from 39th to 42nd century this has taken a while... I doubt 40k will ever end. There stocks are kept by there CEOs and directors; 50k will just be another generation. 40k can be dragged on and on.

I think Cawl already confirmed that the Emperor is not bound by linear time. In one of his flashbacks/dreams he speaks with the Emperor - it's not clear if he is actually remembering past events of if this is the Emperor speaking to him in a dream - but Cawl notes that the Emperor is outside of time and space. And it's true that potent warp entities exist outside of time. Once a chaos god is born, it's like they have always existed, so we must assume that the Emperor too will always have existed once he ascends to godhood.
Are we ignoring that the emperor spoke to the Sisters of Battle in M36, turning them against their (heretic) master.

One of the things I would love to see, if (and hopefully when) the Big E becomes a Warp God, is how would Gulliman and any other possible primarchs react? Gulliman has been struggling enough knowing the Imperial Truth and seeing what has happened to the Imperium, how would he take his god-hating father becoming an actual god?

WH40k really needs a timeline for all novels. That would help a lot of people enter this amazing universe. Having such a huge lore without a clear info about when each novel happened (or at least its position in the books) is really discouraging to beginners.
Honestly late, but I keep watching lore videos and it's made me want to read the books. But this is exactly what I feared, in that it's so extensive that there's not a really clear timeline to follow.

I listened to the audio version yesterday. It was ... meh. Andy Clarks characters are excellently done but behave kinda weird. Its the 42nd millenium and at times you'd think its a HH book. It feels too much like an introduction for beginners bc the discussions especially the custodians have are just plain stupid. 10000 years after the HH and they still act surprised if someone regards big E as a god or traitor marines being only now slowly corrupted by the warp although they hung around in the eye of terra for 10000 years??? I mean yeah i get it. Time is fucked up in the warp but much of the stuff in the book makes zero sense to me.

When the girl that was talking to Guilliman was being described in the video, she sounded to me a lot like the Alpha Pariah from the videogame Warhammer 40k: Inquisitor - Martyr.
Been watching your videos for awhile and had no idea i wasn't subscribed, that has been corrected.
I know everyone believes that geedubs wont move the story forward, but they did run the end times on WH fantasy. Then they retconned or reworked or whatever everything in a way that kept things going. Its likely they could and maybe will do the same for 40k. It would be pretty interesting to see them do end times for 40k, rewind, and go through a victory for every faction in the future after more stalling for a decade or so between each.
They can end the story and keep the game going

I suppose that its a huge galaxy and they could tell stories of the past similar to how they already do, but a flat out ending for any one faction would turn the fans of other factions into screaming maniacs... As they saw when they gave chaos the win in fantasy. So theyd likely give one faction a win, rewind, give another faction a win, rinse and repeat as it seems theyre doing with fantasy. It also brings in more ability for more merchandise and stories and models and stuff.
Gw Will create another status quo. The difference is that the setting Will mostlikely become fantasy in space. With Eldar God comeback for example.

And even then I understand how momentous, how universe shattering the Emperor’s awakening would be.
Given that in 40k the chaos gods were created from beliefs and emotions I think after that many people believing and sacrificing for him for that length of time he's essentially become a warp entity to rival them in his own right. The saints and the girl mentioned are the angels to the daemons of the warp.
