For Khorne Sanguinius was the trophy and Angron the wooden spoon.
That is not really supported in Lore.
I think that Jaghatai Khan would have been a more fitting "trophy" for Khorne than Sanguinus.
Sanguinus would have been a more fitting Trophy for Slaanesh (who did try). He has great psychic power, awesome swag and incredible beauty/aesthetics.
Tzeentch also eye-balled The Lion beside Magnus.
Nurgle had a soft spot for Perturabo but, imo, had he went for the best possible candidate to corrupt... i would have said Vulkan (plus his immortality would make him the next best toy after Isha)
Everyone is gay for sanguinius the space jesus
Rogal Dorn beat Chaos by being as boring and blunt as possible.
I laughed every time in End and the Death Part 2 when he's annoying Khorne by just staring at a wall and reciting warfare doctrine and law
His biggest strength is being able to "just say no". Like, if he ever got fat, he'd just stop eating. If he ever got hooked on Slaaneshi Crocodil-Fent, he'd just stop taking it. If he was on No Nut Nillenia, he'd just leave his dick untouched for a thousand years no sweat.
Curze is interesting because he said no to the Emp and no to the gods
Curze was just an all around bitter asshole. Absolutely insane and hated literally everyone he ever met
Guilliman should be on this list. Fulgrim and Mortarion both tried to tempt him to serve their respective Gods.
And Khor pheron tried to convert him in a similar way to Horus by stabbing him with that chaos knife Horus got hit by.
Heck now that I think about it tzeentch was probably gonna try to corrupt him after a whole lot of torture since he had Kairos take him captive instead of just killing him.
Guilliman literally went what Mortarion went through and said fuck you to Nurgle by burning his fucking garden.
@@JonyTony2018wasn't Mortarion has to also save his legion?
@@daothucanh9621 saving them by turning them into walking plague-zombies with little to no self-awareness or even understanding of the horrors that happened to their bodies?
Perturabo's response to Nurgle is why I still don't believe he turned daemon at all.
It's 100% confirmed.
@@AthosJosueit would make sense if it got retconned, bc perturabo has never seen the chaos gods as anything other than slavers worthy of his contempt. Why would he willingly sacrifice imperial fist geneseed, as in the older lore, to ascend to daemonhood when every time he's seen his daemon prince brothers he's realised that they are now nothing but enslaved shadows of themselves? Perturabo becoming a daemon prince just makes no sense
I think he did, either involuntarily because he was misled by his Word Bearers tutor about the true nature of the Iron Cage ritual, or because as that Nurgle marine says, he’s dying and Chaos can make him eternal, and said tutor gives him the means to ascend.
@@yerauldda6955maybe he went the same way Be’Lakor went by ascending through undivided keeping his free will by denying it to the Gods
Chaos Undivided Elevation seems to be a contest for said soul, rather than a contract with one Chaos God.
I won’t lie it still surprises me that Tzeench didn’t go for me, Alpharius (I am Alpharius) considering the Alpha Legion is all about lies, trickery and schemes, aka tzeench’s mantra
Or did he?...
*HYDRA DOMINUS*
You better be referencing that awesome Perturabo moment you showed us years ago
That was before Perturabo cucked out.
Well, yeah. Angron was never meant to be the way he was. The Butcher's Nails arguably twisted him into the antithesis of what he was meant to be.
If we're talking about notable Lion El'Jonson one-liners, there's one from Ruinstorm that sums up his attitude during and before the Heresy very well.
Lion, Roboute, and Sanguinius' fleet are carving a path through the Ruinstorm when they find an Imperial planet that's been under siege for years by chaos daemons. Lion is the only one to make contact with a high ranking member of the PDF, and from her he learns that not only have the planet's populace started worshipping the Emperor, but they have also been completely overrun by Tzeentch daemons. The conversation ends with her subtly asking him to do whatever it takes to stop the rest of them from being "changed" like the others. It's one of the few times that we see the Lion take a very somber and compassionate attitude, but once the call is ended, he returns to his brothers and immediately tells them they need to blow up the entire planet. Roboute and Sanguinius put up a fuss over killing so many Imperial citizens, but Lion not only reiterates that it's their wish to die before the daemons can get to them, but also that denying chaos another world could weaken the ruinstorm and offer them a path through. He asks them if they can think of any other way, and neither of the primarchs speak up. Finally, the Lion states:
"Your silence is consent."
And he immediately destroys the world in front of them. I believe it sums up his attitude as a cold asshole when it comes to doing his job, but it also shows the genuine motivations and beliefs behind that attitude so you can see that whilst he's very abrasive, he's right.
When I began this video, I was wondering if you were gonna mention Perturabo. I'm glad you did! He is my favorite of the Primarchs, and his refusal of Nurgle is one of my favorite parts of his lore. Punching out a gunship? With just his fist? Come on! Even the haters have to admit that's just awesome!
Nurgle predicted Perturabo's defeat and the joke is he might well have been defeated if Nurgle had said nothing. But he essentially went to Perturabo. Perturabo of all beings and said the equivalent, "There's no way you can do this without my help". I mean. Dude beat angron just to prove a point.
It would be so damn cool to be a primarch, and tell an emissary of the chaos gods to go kick rocks.
Sanguinius is, of course, a first round pick.
As a sacrifice to the almighty algorithm i just want to let you know @Wolf Lord Rho, that you convinced me to buy scars and path to heaven again as physical copies (couldnt find warhawk) just to see the khan hand out some burns another time.
Keep up the good work, i really enjoy your vids. For the Khan!
If I am not mistaken, Nurgle tried to tempt Perturabo. Ultimatly failed, but it did spell out the fate of traitors. Night Haunter was just too far gone in his madness to be approached by one of the Chaos Powers. One of Lorgar's followers tried to turn Guilliman & failed.
"That guy is f-cking nuts." -Tzeentch telling the other God's that Kurze is just doing his own thing
Rho, it wasn't a librarian. It was a Nemiel, the Chaplain. He tried to command The Lion and the Lion punched his head clean off for the insubordination in front of everyone on the bridge. Sorry, but you got that wrong Hoss.
I love how there are so many implications that loyalist primarches were the 4 gods' first picks, and that the traitor primarches barring Horus (and maybe Magnus) were second or even last picks.
Thank you man I've been looking for a comprehensive guide for the primarks that were tempted by the chaos gods
Perty becoming a demon primarch was so fucking stupid. It would've been great if he was the one to join Horus but also steadfastly tell the Chaos gods to fuck off for ten thousand years.
Perturabo has become one of my favourite Primachs such a bagasse without even trying ,the Lion incorruptible and loyal to his father man this was an awesome video
14:15 Nemiel was a chaplain, not a librarian.
Thank you I was checking the comments to see if someone else had put this correction before putting it myself
@@seanp5600y a Redemptor, if memory serves.
It's funny realy when you think about for all their power, forsight, scheming most of them had to sttel for their second choice.
Lovely subject for the video and a great listen. Well done❤
All chaos gods looking at Konrad- "hmm maybe not that one"
Lithium must not be a thing in-universe, being none of the interested parties tried treating him with it.
I’m not a fan of retcons but I’m still mad/confused that they made Perty a demon primarch
Great video. Your last few weeks of uploads have been really good mate!
The Emperor Protects
Has any primarch lost more than Angron? Going full demon really only gave him some exploitable weaknesses and the ability to respawn later (only to be whooped again).
14:00 small nitpick, but was it not a redemptor, Nemiel , who was killed by the Lion, and not one the Librarius?
All I’m hoping is that we get a seen that ,shows us the lord of Iron as a somewhat corrupted cyborg primarch.
nurgle fits with the iron warriorsgiven their stoic mindset, and i think tzeentch fits the dark angels too with their penchant for secrets.
everyone wanted sanguinius though and it makes me laugh to know that he was khornes first choice, making angron the rebound who was just there to pick up the pieces hahaha.
Great video.
The fact none approached Russ also says a lot about Russ
"I can tell you the emperor's name and it would surprise you"
Either its a famous name, a stupid one or a very common one... I choose to believe the second.
14:06 It was not a Librarian, but a Chaplain, Nemiel.
GW needs to retcon Perty going demon. It doesn’t make sense.
It makes for a tragic arc. All those principles twisted in ambition or desperation.
Chaos undivided, a willful compromise.
perty is the only fallen primarch that I wish stayed loyal.
I wish that Magnus had kept his wits and stayed loyal as well, but between the two I favor Perturabo in the extreme.
If Pert had been in charge of the Palace, the walls would have never fallen
Glad this popped up. Just realized I haven’t seen your channel in months and I was unsubscribed for some reason.
Hydra Dominatus
I see you too are a person of culture
Tzeentch and the dark angels makes sense, but nurgle and P-bo seems like grandpa was just taking a shot.
2:54 ..the CERAMITE sheath of his Gauntlet
I hope in the future that it turns out to be simple rumours that Perty is a daemon primarch and he's still legit
For an being supposed to be smart trying to corrupt The Lion is quite dumb.
Unless that was the plan all along... 😅
Mortarion says the same thing to Khan about the implied planet swap
Nemiel was a chaplain. Not a librarian.
We going to over look Rogal Dorn? being asked by Korn?
Kyros, Here Lion I have a deal for you....oh wait never mind.
The warp already knew it had Mortarion in the bag so it made no difference if the offer was made to others before him . He was always steeped in pestilence.
Perturabo is such a pissed off badass
"Could you imagine a demon-ascended Sanguinius?" Aesthetically it would be super cool, but he wouldn't necessarily be more powerful. A lot of people mistakenly think that Primarchs turning demon means they are Primarch + Demonic Gifts with no drawbacks, but that simply isn't true. They often have to give up a lot just for a few physical advantages, and at the expensive of being enslaved entirely to powers they can no longer resist once the transformation happens. Dorn still kicked fully ascended demon Fulgrim's ass; Sanguinius still kicked fully ascended demon Angron's ass, Perturabo kicked fully ascended demon Angron's ass and in the 41st Millennium, the Lion did too. Heck, Horus didn't embrace demonhood, but Russ had Horus Ascended 100% irrefutably defeated; it was only his love for his brother that stayed his hand and bought Horus time to get out. Demonhood maybe gives them cool sorcery, extra strength, regeneration, etc., but they have to completely surrender free will, most-if-not-all of their sanity, punishment for not carrying out the orders of Chaos (Mortarion is locked away in the Garden of Nurgle indefinitely, for example), and have to continue serving and fighting even if they don't want to anymore. Always in pain, always tormented, always a self-seeking coward who lost the understanding of things martial, the art of craft and forging, and gave up tactical acumen in favor of a new tentacle or bigger wings for themselves.
Chaos, much like evil in the real world, preys on weakness but offers no reward. There is no actual ascendancy for those who accept demonhood. They are just stuck outside of reality, tortured and forever enslaved to do the bidding of fickle Chaos deities who wanted them so they could brag for having stolen an otherwise marvelous creation.
If khorne took Sanguinius and Peturabo to Nurgle, the Hunanity Loses... especially Hawk Boy...
Sanguineous as a demon prince of Khorne would have been the end of the Heresy, right there. Angron is a very poor substitute in comparison.
I kinds get why Nurgle went foe the Iron Hands but that was always a long shot and if this speech convincing Perturabo is from the book he had NO shot
"Hey, man who loves iron. Have you considered your iron is weak and you're a little bitch boy without my big mans help? Your iron is rust (not rn but imagine it was he can do that I swear) your iron is rusty and weak and you don't smell enough loser"
*gets shot*
What did he expect to happen?
I was surprised not to see Konrad Curze on this list. Granted, we do not have any examples with him, so that's probably why he's not here. ;/
The new end and rhe death books insinuates that the souls of fallen primarch are still there .... will big E snatch one of those or he dosnt give a shit about them ?
if the khan was to go with any god it would be tzeentch. by nature he is meant to be mysterious and unpredictable. that fits tzeentch perfectly.
If Jaghatai was sent to Chemos, he would have been deprived of the plains, the freedom to roam and hunt. I am still to Fulgrims early day on Chemos, but from what i understand he had to help rebuild a lot of the planet, because it was miserable state. Defnitely not something to allow rides the Khan enjoys. It would steer Khan towards personal pleasures, since there couldn't be enjoyment outside.
fabius bile vs kanathara, whose hooves shatter mountains, easily the best books in the black library.
The lion for the win !!
The Lion beheaded a Chaplain, not a Librarian.
Pertarabo is the Primach I would love to root for as his skills are better then any others imho. However he is damned by choice and I can't see him ever coming back to the light of the Emperor. :(
For the Khan and Emperor !!!!
Brother- redemptor Nemiel was a chaplain..who was the librarian that the Lion killed?
It's Nemiel that the Lion kills
He kills Nemiel because Nemiel objects to the Lion trying to restore the libraries despite the edict of Nickaea.
The libraian you are thinking of is Nemiels cousin Zahariel who was exiled to Caliban
Tzeentch been linked to Caliban
How did a perty become a demon lord?
Vasshtor
There is only one God, and it's name is Iron.
Perturabo: Eww god is cringe. Lol said Perturabo LMAO
Comment for the algorithm 😅
where is dorn?
they made Settra a primarch?
Nemiel is a chaplain though. was.
Damn kairos is a switch fr fr
A Primarch is NEVER unarmed.
Incidentally, Tzeetch was actually recruited to become the Chaos god of change and mystery and wacky nonsense by Alpharius
I wonder if the reason for the large number of Alpha Legion daemon princes is they were inspired by Omegon going DP himself.
Is there a high number of Alpha legion Daemon Princes? Can't say I've ever heard of this.
I think the opposite of this video would be interesting, which primarchs that are missing could give into chaos in the 41st millennium?
Or in other words... the Losers who missed out on sweet Immortality and Daemonhood!
Perturabo has been a daemon prince for 10k years.
Thank you for playing.
@@jonharrison9222 I know. It was said in jest.
Perty as a demon prince is so they can sell another demon primarch model
he can just be alive by some sort of life supported power armor and be sold as anew chaos primarch model. Just not deamon ascended.
That is a part of the lore way older than the Primarchs having miniatures (miniatures less than 25 years old, I mean)
Theory: what if the body on the golden throne isn't actually the God Emperor but is instead the body of the lone soldier who confronted Horus aboard the Vengeful Spirit, who is most likely that one Perpetual the Emperor knows from his days uniting Terra?
Considering how that plot thread concluded in The End and the Death Part II, extremely unlikely. That confrontation doesn’t actually happen.
Error: aKeeper Of Secrets is a Greater Daemon of Tzeentch, not Slaanesh.
First!
To be fair, I suspect you coming first is a recurring theme in your life.
