I wonder if he knew that it's an automatic ejection in MLB to point and draw a line like that? I don't know if it's legal in Japan's baseball leagues...Just curious.
@@rilian226 Yes indeed. Lee MacPhail upheld the protest and awarded the home run and ordered the game to be replayed from that point. Billy Martin made a fool of himself by protesting that Brett did not touch all 4 bases, which was quashed with a signed affidavit that the home run was legal and Brett had touched all bases. Martin then threw a fit and was thrown out of the game. The Royals went on to win 5-4.

I paid $80 for a very sick friend to have his enlarged face placed in a seat at Citi Field. He loved it! Unfortunately, he passed after the season. Wifey told me I gave him a coupla more months looking for his face at the games. I miss you, Teddy... ❤
Despite initial controversy, it seems that the introduction of AI for ball-strike decisions in the KBO League has been met with success. The AI ball-strike decision system was named ABS (Automatic Ball-Strike System) by KBO, and the emotional fight between the umpire and the players has been significantly reduced, which shortened the game time even more than stuffs such as the pitch clock.
Nothing that you'll notice on-field. Weaker umpires get less prestigious positions, and fewer good games. In particular, they don't get to work playoffs. Might not seem like much, but umpires do notice when they don't get quality games. A basic problem with anything more serious, such as say sending umpires back to the minors, is that they would have to build and maintain a much larger (and well paid) pool of umpires ready to rotate in (and risk being rotated out) when other umpires fall short.
I always loved that Ichiro clip because Ichiro was completely right. He drew the line exactly where that ball was.
Still a no no
Yep drives me insane that it still can’t be reviewed.
It was probably off the plate, but closer than the line he drew. Still, the way great hitters like that can see the ball so well always amazes me.
if someone like Ichiro gets ejected you know something is wrong with the Umpire clique

Ichiro is a legend. Leave it to him to get thrown out when he was dead-accurate on where the pitch was.
My favorite was Brett getting chucked for the pine tar. I remember when that happened.
I'll tell ya; I'd luv 2 c a "lost interview" RE: the "Pine Tar" game (especially where George Brett ripped George Steinbrenner).
That call was later overturned too...

Why did they even have the rule if the league wasn't going to enforce it?

So the quickest ways to get ejected are
1) Argue balls and strikes
2) Be Josh Donaldson
Didn't know the strike zone extended below the knees. Majority of umps suck.

The same thing happened between Earl weaver & Ron Luciano just before the 4th. of a four game series.
Player: Throws bat down on the ground.
Batboy: That's my job security!
Harper was pissed his hair got messed up
I was expecting a 4th clip in a row to either be broadcasted by Toronto or have the Mariners in it again for whatever reason, lol
Only one involving Angel? Wow
I was just as surprised
How fitting that the very first clip is Bryce Harper.
The Brett clip will live forever. Billy Martin was a Sumnabitch!
But he was right.
2:05 grown man raging 😂
It's going to come to a point where a bum umpire gets decked Then things will change
Can't wait!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Man, covid baseball was awful.
Covid sports period was awful but at the time its what the world really needed. I hope to never experience a time like that ever again

TBF every player knows of you argue balls and strikes, you are thrown out. That is not even an unwritten rule, it is in the rule book. So they know.
This is why A.I should take umpire's job

Right or wrong arguing with an umpire, you always lose.
That's right. Umps are control freaks.
NOW WHY WOULD I FORGET ABOUT LOU PINIELLA? THE GUY WAS KICKING DIRT ON THE THIRD BASE UMPIRE BECAUSE ANGEL PAGAN WAS CALLED OUT! 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Umps are wrong 100% of the time. Eff 'em
Is there a penalty for a misjudged umpire?

Fastest way to be ejected is to be AJ Burnett.
What adolescents!!
Umps are little kids, not more mature than that.
Pushing the umpire works EVERY time!

Funny you dont see much of this before the days of roids.

can't blame them tbh
Umps these days are beta males around alphas.
