Sometimes they're responsible for a team losing and instead of manning up and admitting they may have been wrong they just start ejecting players and managers. Of the two, the manager is the one most easily substituted for, and he can even keep doing his job from the clubhouse. The player can't catch fly balls oe take an at-bat from there. And even if the player already got tossed the manager will want to get in between to not have the player suspended, further hurting the team.
