I'm originally from New Orleans East but I enjoy the North shore area I like the outdoors and nature turtles 🐢and other critters, I like planting trees 🌳 and walking 🚶♂️on nature trails 😃
It really is an amazing area to live in. The growth as exploded, which could be looked at as positive or negative. The family friendly, outdoorsy vibes (and safety!) are definitely welcome!
I’m surprised the North shore has not extended its area to Hammond and Poncatoula; there’s large population of former New Orleans residents living there.
It has now. Its not called a metro but we are apart of the new orleans-metairie-hammond combined statistical area. It used to be 8 parishes included in the MSA with nola area but they added 2 more since 2020. Hammond is really a 45 min drive to nola without traffic. Just a 15 min difference from slidell. But she forgot to add the other bridge that goes through i-55 too
What u mean it already has she just didn’t include it ( New Orleans metropolitan area) of 1.2 million people is Hammond, bogalusa,Covington,la place,Kenner,chalmette belle chase and the parishes those city are located in just like Atlanta metropolitan area and Houston or Miami fla , Washington,tangiphoa, and Washington parish is all in New Orleans met area HANO operates all hud housing in those areas why she didn’t mention them all not sure but yes u correct they are included
Sorry that you feel that way. I'll have to agree to disagree. The Northshore has changed a lot in the last 10 years. Diversity is definitely here, and I still love the variety of restaurants too. 😀

Northshore caters more to a certain race , lack of diversity and bland food which matches perfectly with the people who live there 🙂
