    Looking good Rick!
    I've been eyeing this for a little while. I just got my 125 vortex in 25cal and enjoy breaking the rules by plinking with ultra magnums. I hope they make a proxima ultra magnum too but I'll still probably get one of these. Really love the 125. I want it in 22cal too.

    In this video as he is loading the clip he does not show that the clear plastic piece has to be turned counter clock wise all the way around with spring tension on at to the 1 oclock position and held in place . If you were to let go of the clear piece it should spend back clockwise all the way back to the 12 oclock position . Once you spin the clear plastic piece counter clock wise all the way around to the 1 oclock position and your holding it nice and tight so it doesn't spin back then flip it over . When its flipped over you will see that the pointy piece of the clear piece is not straight up lined up with the black pointy piece . it is off set to the side and a open slot is ready to drop a pellet into the hole . Once you drop the pellet into the hole you can let go of the clear piece and it will not spin back now like it did before when it was empty .

    The weakest link on this rifle is that magazine. Mine failed to index to the next pellet causing me to fire through an empty breech. Or when the barrel is tipped up to work the lever a pellet will fall out of the magazine and into the action causing a mother of all jams. I will stick with a single shot underlever from now on.

      Yes!! Me also. Lets petition that to Hatsan. Really!! Get enough people to encourage Hatsan to produce that product then as a product promotion offer a free year membership to Planet Fitness. I have a Hatsan 135 .30 cal. I can cock it about 18 to maybe 22 times. Then I switch arms and do it another twenty times. As long as I have enough muscle I can shoot about 50 rounds single shot. But would love to shoot more rounds quickly with the 135.

    Its so big and under powered! I like hatsan products but this thing is huge for its power out put, where did the power go??? It looks like a 125 or 135/155 size and weight but it producing hatsan edge power i saw that on the first look and was assured ill be happier with the gamo swarm. Not to mention the price... i think hatsan springers dont exceed a 300 dollar value, i think if your going to exceed 300 go for a R9/hw/tx200... heaft helps with recoil ya sure but my swarm weighs about half this and its recoil isnt even something to mention. Its not just the walnut stock either, that gun is straight up huge. That is just my thoughts.

      Shot placement, why do you need excessive energy down range? Can't put the pellet where it needs to go? In the UK this would still be too powerful to be legal for a regular citizen and they do just fine.

The 1400s stock is my favorite stock but the action and quality definitely the 125. That's not even counting the fully adjustable match grade trigger OR the 31fpe I get in 25cal with air arms 25cal in 25.40gr pellets.... I can get 1 hole groups with all my air rifles but with the 125 I can do it effortlessly and QUICKLY

      The company must have been designing for a multi-shot, was more interested in a platform that would not risk wrecking the feed mechanism that might have been the case with being too powerful (recoil)? The Gamo multi-shot does not boast much higher energies in .177, either, maybe a fpe more?

      Full power in the UK is 12 ft lbs but most rifles are set at 10/5 to 11 ft lbs to err on the right side of caution and the law. And yet, we still hunt successfully at ranges up to 55 yards. As Pirelli said !Power is nothing without control!. Skill and good shot placement is what makes a clean kill, not outright power.

    • @rahowherox1177
      @rahowherox1177 Před 6 lety

      mitchell nix lol ... try hunting pigs .... moose .... elephants ... etc with your sub 13 ft pound rifle. Anyways you could stretch 55 yards out to 100 with decent power.

    • @mitchellnix5274
      @mitchellnix5274 Před 6 lety

      We don't have moose or elephants in the UK - you may not have been aware of this fact. As for pigs, wild boar in the UK are rare and protected and we are not allowed to shoot them. Any air rifle over 12 ft lbs requires a firearms certificate and most shooters would imply swap to a live fire rifle under these circumstances. FAC air rifles are not common here. I still maintain that whatever quarry you shoot and with whatever type of weapon, accurate shot placement comes before power. it doesn't matter how powerful a rifle is if you either can't hit the target or can't kill your quarry cleanly and ethically with a single shot.

    Hatsan, I love you but the HATSAN name to me means power with style. This to me is a Lamborghini with a four cylinder engine. Yes, it's got a market, I get it in just asking if you'll consider a HATSAN PROXIMA MAGNUM?
    I'm getting a mean average of 802fps and 37fpe with the air arms 25cal in 25.40gr pellets in my HATSAN MOD 125 vortex 25cal.... I stack up to ten pellets with fair enough ease up to 25yds and can further out.... dime size at 50+ on a good day....id looove a proxima ultra magnum 25cal and 30cal.... get the 30 up to 650fps legitimately and own your market all over again.
    Yeah, accuracy I know... well I'm not at a 12fpe limit and I can shoot bees off flowers at 50 with all my magnums even the "inaccurate" ones (truth is accuracy when a gun isn't fubar) WILL be there if you learn your guns. Yeah the little mousefart guns are easier to shoot well but I'm not personally into the mousefart trade off for apathy ymmv. I'm just speaking to MY preference but I buy hatsan for power and finesse but power is what made me willing to pay for the break barrel airgun in the first place as everyone has a mousefart gun at mousefart prices... but, a springer that smashes brick tiles?
    Yeah 125/135....
    A proxima ultra magnum 25cal and 30cal?.... id wait a little longer to go pcp for that....
    And yes I have a 1min 10sec clip showing the 125 vortex 25cal smashing the poop out of a 1in brick tile..... absolutely smitten with it!

    Rick, I am looking for a accurate spring or gas ram airgun in the $300 price range that would be excellent for hunting small game in the cold out to 40 yards. There are a lot of guns in this price range and it is tough to pick one out of the pack, any suggestions as to what to go with. so far I have looked at the gamo swarm, hatsan 95 qe vortex, umarex octane, walther parus, and various rws and diana airguns all in .22. I have a leapers accushot mount and mantis 3-9x40 from my last gun and have previously learned the artillery hold. Any advice on the matter would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks Again, John

    • @mrnickbig1
      @mrnickbig1 Před 6 lety

      You NEED a 125 in .25 cal. There are many options for stocks. Velocity in .25 is around 750 FPS, and around 30 FPE.

    • @AirGunWeb
      @AirGunWeb  Před 6 lety +2

      John, realistically, there are too many good PCP options in that same price range. Hand pumps are way under $100 on Amazon and something like the QB Chief is a 50 yard gun all day long. Light, easy to shoot, good power, and under $200. The more power you go with on the spring / gas ram guns, the more you'll need to really have excellent technique for repeatable accuracy. Take my word for it.. PCP is the way to go. Don't let the hand pumping turn you off, it's well worth it.
      Cheers
      AGW
      p.s. if you are looking at a spring / gas ram gun, the Gamo Swarm is a wonderful choice so is the Walther Parrus. Hatsan has some good options as well. (125, 95, etc). In the end it's not all about power. If you can't hit what you are aiming at, power does you no good.

    • @johnbeilhartiv1042
      @johnbeilhartiv1042 Před 6 lety

      Expert Airgun Reviews / AirgunWeb / AirgunWebTV I'm not really looking at a PcP yet as I would go multishot and get a really good gun. Also not a big believer all the hype about "power" in an spring airgun as that will lead to inaccuracy. Really all I need it for us rabbit or smaller game like squirrel. Accuracy should not be an issue if the gun does it's part and I do mine and gives 1" groups at 30 yards. Rick, as you stated many of these gun are good choices but what would be the best for my budget? I hear good things and bad about all of these and that's what makes it really hard to choose.

    • @mrnickbig1
      @mrnickbig1 Před 6 lety

      The 125 easily groups 1" at 50 yards. The .25 is powerful enough to take out game and pests much larger than rabbits and squirrels. This exact combo is $333 on amazon. The spring (non vortex) is $265. czcams.com/video/EmsKDtCj2rk/video.html The .22 vortex version combo is only $265 and get up to 1000 FPS with lead pellets.
