In the movie Osgiliath was originally a market place I think, well an abandoned one, turned into a fort. So in Total War the walls for a fort aren't meant to as impenetrable as a castles walls. I guess it's just the design.
Thought you were going to lose that as you got yourself into an archer versus archer shoot out whereas you might have been more prudent concentrating your fire on the Orc numbers once they were through the gate. Good use and placement of the wooden spikes. Well won in the end but for a minute there it was a bit touch and go ......
well if that was the case, the spy stole the gates. I'm saying that the gates were completely missing, not they were open which is the case when a spy is involved.

Yes and it would make sense to allow them to fo that but I guess the game developers would count that as cheating though in the battle for middle earth games the Goblins were able to climb walls. I'm thinking the enemy army is so big that it would make the game cheat if a goblin army can swarm your defenses.

Yeah, In know, it would be a pain to defend. There's been too many times where that gatehouse made an excellent chokepoint for my defenses.

Osgiliath was once the capital city on Gondor. Minas Tirith was just a fortress to guard them from anyone coming from the north or west.
they can't. It's wall rubble, so it registers to the AI that that certain area is impassible

you can't buy it in stores or on steam... the original game is called Medieval 2 total war... third age is only a mod for the original game
