- I have besieged the Rohan capital called Edoras, I am one of the two armies attacking the city in my Isengard campaign. I love it how you can hear the orcs yell "COME ON!!!!!" during the formation.
This is an excellent mod. Already playing 3.1 and its just keeps getting better and better.
I recommend this mod to any LotR fan. Its really awesome.
Nice job with deployment and taking the gate/walls, it is refreshing to see that I am not the only person that does that

@toyy7675 The mod is called "third age total war". It's a mod for medieval 2 total war: kingdoms. (you really need the kingdoms expantion, otherwise the mod won't work)
It basically passes time from morning to afternoon and such, and can change the weather. You can only do night battles depending on the attacking general's traits (I know, long time to respond lol)
Well in the third movie the orcs and the uruk-hai fight eachother in that watchtower place near the end.

I actually got all the evil fractions to ally with me, all you had to do was give them trading rights, then right after try to ally them and they would 95% of the time. And yes, Rohan is the least of my troubles in the campaign, I didn't want to start a war with Eriador yet just because my main barracks and troop producer was to far away, so just to get more income and production for troops, I quickly invaded Rohan as quick as possible with a decent sized army. I did finish off Rohan though

Besides this one, I basically remade the video, except this time I was Rohan including a new version of the mod which had similar settlements like in the movies. I actually had a mic around that time so I give some commentary, even though I wasn't really good at it. Reason why I don't make videos is cause I am in college and also I have been working on getting a better computer to actually record better games like Rome 2, ARMA vids (I am in a group), and a variety of games like Payday 2 and such

And I thought Lord of the rings battle for middle earth 2 was fun. This game looks amazing.
The thing is not to keep your army packed together keep the infantry in the midlle and archers,crosbowmen at the back keep cavalry on left and right of your army And ur set to crush enemys
@decepticoon you are right. everybody knows that one single berserker carrying a torch i more effective than a siege weapon. this was no sarcasm.
@rydomart911 it's not for sale, it's a free downloadable mod for medieval 2, though you need the kingdoms expansion for that first. Shouldn't cost more than £15-£20 :)
this mod is freaking genius work, if they have any brains over at CA they would make this into an oficial game
You can find the patch by navigating through Moddb (seeing as though it won't let me send you the link directly). look on that for any of you who want to get the game. it also has custom settlements made now, adding to the class of this Mod :)
the makers put lot of effort into making this game, and would as a result love to have you playing it!
you do however need Medieval II: Total War Kingdoms installed, this game is a mod for that. hope it helps :)

If they all die it would be so unrealistic, which is the entire point of Total War.

these Orcs look a bit like the Mongols in ME2TW. when they arrive in big numbers, they have quite the same reputation and culture.

Did not have a mic at the time, I made a similar video like a year later of this video with a mic, but this time I was on a newer version of the mod, and I switched sides from the vicious Uruk-Hai to the people of Rohan.
I am sorry to say that the logistic model is not sufficient to model the orcish difficulty.
Orcs don't eat grass, they eat flesh (and so do Wargs), and don't like vegitables. If orcs run out of captives & cattle they eat their dead, and if they run out of dead they eat each other. Rohan survived the insane Gondor Stewardship, by cavalry raiding orcish lines, which limits orc range away from a fortress they may move without pillage.
ROME/MED2 neglects logistics, so it's not a model.
Also, if you can't find the game, Medieval II Gold Edition is around £5 on Amazon.
if you have the game the Mod is completely free by the way, so i wouldn't bother paying any extra to get the game directly, especially when Medieval II alone is an amasing game!

this mod is soooo much better now that 3.0 has been released with custom settlements like helms deep and minas tirith ah epicness
It's not just moral. It's about rewarding those who put hard work in this game. I pirate games. Not often though, and when I really like the game and have the money, I buy it anyway.
Also, if everybody pirated the game, Creative Assembly would go bankrupt and never make great games again. It's not sustainable.

Yeah, I am too. I guess some people like me don't know the history of Japan, so that kinda ruins the immersion factor. Thats why I liked Medival, Empire, Napoleon, and Rome so much. I know all the historical things about the periods.

@MrYazoo155 it was already at the hardest difficulty and I already fought most of Rohan's forces before hand. But I'm looking forward to getting a new disc for MTW2 and redownloading the mod. I might do a Lets Play of big or important battles during my conquest of ME

That would have been the death of the Rohirim! The narrow space of the gate way would have trapped the riders between their friends behind and the invading forces to the front. The only way the cavalry could be effective against a force like this is if they charged the second the gate fell or let the orcs over run the gate then attempted to retake it. The close spaces and style of fighting renders cavalry useless! Just easy targets for crossbows. plus Isengard equipped many of t

@kylerobles i deleted it, i dont think ill do a commentary on this for a good time, maybe next month or so. If you like ill do a commentary on a epic campaign battle i have should have saved on shogun 2 total war. Im doing that commentary very soon probably this weekend or next weekend

@38602 He's already general of 1 of your and he should be in isengard when you start the game with isengard faction.
@thejoshknight i liked shogun's avatar online campaign, but im going to be honest that it was a nice game and it dealt everything with morale. it was mostly spamming of horses, monks, matchlocks, and that was basically it. You couldnt really find a good matchup at all really. im looking forward to Rome 2 though
The Rhohirrim army should have charged the Uruk forces while they still controlled the small narrow space of the gate, that way, they might have been able to somewhat nullify the superior numbers of Isengard..... but that's coming from someone with limited tactical knowledge, and who has never played this game before... so I am probably wrong... if someone wants to correct me please do.

one time i was playeng this game, one of my catapults did fail on a tower, but the good thing was, that the catapult shoot killed the general

Better attack Edoras with 2 armies at once than sending one army one by one,this is what i did and i lost 3 armies like that until i send 3 armies together and fucked up Edoras and then send the other 2 armies to destroy what's left of them.
Do not shoot flaming missiles with the catapults. They do less damage to the walls and towers.
When? Last I remembered only Isengard had Uruk-hai
Hey, is there any way i can make the squads bigger? Like in this mod, they are 150 but in the normal game they are max 75. Can i change it somehow?
@Thrall1157 didnt have mic during that time lol, tactics on third age for evil is really just hammer and anvil

@MrYazoo155 if it was a custom battle or an online battle then yes i see your point but this is a campain map battle having an advantage against ur enemy is inevitable in most cases cause ur richer and well you dont want to go unprepared...

do you need MTW2 orginal or the kindoms expansion? Ive got both...and if I downloaded the mod and installed it and played, would I still be able to access the orginal version? Basically, if I had the mod, how would I play the regular game if I wanted to go back?...Sorry, a noob question but I dont have experience with mods, not sure how they work

@thejoshknight yeah i know how you feel, no one takes the time to learn about the history of Japan in school. I just got done with a history of warfare and we didn't do any type of history of Japan one bit. Only closest thing with Genghis Khan. We learned Medieval times, Romans, Napoleon, and a bunch of other things but yeah. Like there was nothing. I'm more into the pre-gunpowder ages

Dude I like this video, it's great. But if you ask me I would play a harder kind of game...See that blue/red bar which shows strenght between ally and enemy forces? Well at your game it is about 70-80 % for you 20-30% for them...I like to play otherwise. It is more fun, trust me :) I admit that i first played games like this, bud with time you wanna make some changes. I must tell that i lose every third game because i make small chances of victory for me before the game... ENJOY BRO :))
@kladkakan11 Any total war isn't really your standard "Select your whole army and tell them to beat the shit out of this one guy" RTS. It requires positioning, correct unit counters (I.E. Spear man for Calvary), and having your army entirely upgraded and having at least one general on the field with your army.

I installed that mod, but the unit cards didn't work. They were all blank and useless. Nobody knew what was wrong so I just stopped tryin' xd and the sounds were messed up.
