I'm not a beginner but I'm still learning so much from her in her courses - there's A LOT of good stuff packed in there and spoiler alert... there's a ton of freebies, which is worth it given that this academy is so affordable. Not only that, but getting access to the exclusive/private SIA group on Facebook has been a great source of inspiration on my sewing journey.

I joined Sew It Academy on day 1 and what I can say is that you will NOT find a better platform offered anywhere that includes what Mimi offers. If you've been sewing for years you will still learn and improve upon the skills you've already learned. If you've never sewn anything take the courses like stepping stones and build, stick with it and you will improve, you will be proud of yourself and you will see growth. i found my sewing machine intimidating at first but as soon as you start it feels like riding a bike. I fucked up my thread and had to take my machine apart and now I know every in of my machine

I love your channel. I sewed thirty yrs ago on my grandmother's machine and made about twelve outfits altogether. I stopped because I was too busy with my kids and work. I just started back, I now also use a server, and have learned soo many new tricks and ideas, clothing recycling..which is my favorite. It's great to be back

Ok....I joined the Academy when it first launched. I stopped for a while, canceled and rejoined a year ago and never looked back. Step by Step instructions, may I add detailed instructions. I am over the moon that I can draft my own patterns, who knew!!!! Also, I love the FB group support system. I really thought that everyone knew about the SIA. Do not hesitate to join, you will not regret it....I had zero, nada, zilch sewing experience (and my mother is a seamstress 🤦♀️). In conclusion and I'm being totally honest....I may not "go to class" as often as I like, but at $11.97, I don't feel like I'm wasting my money, because I frequent the FB Page and get the needed boost and encouragement I need. Do you have to start at the beginning or can you skip around?
@@MarieS6060 It is definitely recommended and designed for you to start at the beginning and follow each course at a time. This sewing class is designed to build on the previous lessons. In this way what you learned in Lesson 2 and 3, you will already know when you reach Lesson 4, 5 and 6, etc. I hope this helps and hope you join. The best class for your money AND you can watch over and over again, as long as you stay a current member. I always watch the videos first, maybe 2-3 times before I get started.....that's just the way I do it. I wish you well!

I love the sew it academy have been with you since the beginning. What I wish though, is that there was another way to communicate in the sew it academy besides the FB group, I maybe one of the only humans on earth or in the world without a FB account. I love your work, keep doing what you do, but please include an interactive area in the online program for us to ask questions. I referred friends who have joined and they share the same concern...

Yeh, I get that. I bet they use it because it's easier for them to manage and there are few other options that are free and that many people already have. I do have a FB account but have everything disabled and hidden and rarely post things. I just use it for private groups.

When you get old n on a little income it's hard to do anything elsr. My thrift store lets us fill a 13 gallon bag with cloths are material pattern s what ever people donated n they charge $5 abag. You are so relatable. I am strongly considering the academy. Does the school have accreditations? I am in theater and struggle to get fitted for costumes and have had to do some... interesting things to get stuff to fit. I have considered design school but can’t afford it. Other costumers in the Chicago area want accredited pupils/apprentices.
