    I adore double gauze and bought several yards(!) when I started learning to sew two summers ago. I quickly decided I wasn't ready to tackle it until I learned a lot more. Now I'm ready! I can use my walking foot, make french seams, use seam binding and sew without pulling and stretching my fabrics. I appreciate your tips on stay tape etc. I'll add this to my tool bag as well.

    I have that Simplicity 8910 pattern and love it. I made one so far but I altered the sleeves to make them shorter for our Texas heat. I plan to make more for the coming summer. It’s a very flattering pattern for those of us who no longer have that girlish waistline. 😂

    • @Threadquarters
      @Threadquarters  Před 3 lety

      Oh that’s good to hear! I must admit I made a toile and it came up so tight 😆 I haven’t been able to go back and make a larger size yet...🤣 But I really want to make the dress, so I must get around to it!

    • @loriar1027
      @loriar1027 Před 3 lety

      @@Threadquarters my upper arms are also on the plump side so I actually made a larger size for the bodice than I normally take. That helped a lot.

    Thank you for a very clear video. I used double gauze a few years ago for a Bettine dress and Im keen to use it again for something else. I think I must have intuitively realised the pitfalls but didn’t stabilise the seams which I would do next time. Your dress looks beautiful.🤗

    Well done! I have a few yards already, and will put your tips to good work. Do you know of Susan B Anderson, the knitter who owns Barrett Wool Company? She has started quilting, and discusses in her vlog how she loves using double gauze as the backing on her quilts...they come out so lovely. Thank you, janet
