For anyone who believes that reviewing watches is easy. The effort, time and knowledge that has been put into this video is incredible. It is important that a reviewer actually has first hand knowledge of the watch being reviewed and The Watcher with so many videos has to be taken at his word. Very well done and much respect :)
Go on John! appreciate it man 👊🏽👊🏽
Your both very good watch reviewers, I love watching yours show respectfully
This was a big job and you nailed it. Great synopsis and recommendations.
Great work. Most comprehensive review of Seiko homages I've seen.
Monster video! One of the best you've put out. Love the effort that went into it, so much knowledge on it all.
Thanks alot Vinny, glad you enjoyed it!
Seiko coming out with save the ocean dials has given the original Seiko watches a new perspective. Great review! Truthful and honest with so much knowledge gained.
Thanks for watching!
Well that’s one great video, what a lot of time and effort went into making it,many thanks. It’s certainly opened my eyes to what’s on the market the good and the not so good. Big thumbs up to your good self.
Thanks for watching Bev
Pretty much on point mate, great job 👍👍
Appreciate it 👍🏼
Great Job ! Thank you and keep up the good work! 😀
Thank you! Will do!
Watcher this was an awesome show. T.Y ( this is one show that amazingly i missed some how!?) Cheers watcher.
Thank you!
I like your choices, but I have to disagree with you on one watch. The Steeldive 62MAS. I absolutely love the crystal on this watch. I love the distortions at certain angles, I very much like the way it elongates the minute track markers when looking straight on. The fit and finish on my particular watch is very nice and of a high standard, love the large crown as well. But, it was the crystal that did it for me. Nice review.
I agree. Not that I own one, but the V1 San Martin and the Steeldive got this right, but noen of the later models or the 38mm versions get the crystal right. It’s a shame cause that distortion is one of my favorite things with the Seiko 62mas re-releases.
Each to their own gents, for me, while i agree on the crystal, overall for me its the case shape and size which is more important on a 62 mas and the overall aesthetic. While the v1 SM was a great watch, so was the heimdallr, i feel the fifty four 62mas is the most authentic followed by the seestern.
For me, dont know why, the steeldive was a huge turn off. But again, everyone can like what they want. Thanks so much for watching and joining in the convo, love it when proper enthusiasts get involved!
@@TheWatcherReviews dont get me wrong. I have no idea if the steeldive is good or not. I just wish the 38mm versions like the seestern had the same type of crystal.
Great job you are becoming a Master at this thanks !
Wow what a video. Any thoughts on doing another overview review a year later focusing on any new entries.
Really goes to show your knowledge man, thanks for the content
My pleasure!
Very good video it’s a great subject to cover
Impressive video. Respect!
Very nice content ! Very cool 👍
I love Seiko homages. A hole in the market I’d love to see filled (by someone other than a fellow living on an Island…) is SKX013 homages, smaller cases in lots of colors, and SARB homages. I’m shocked that SM or Proxima or Seestern haven’t given us a killer SARB homage with lots of dial options. Thanks for the list!
Believe me I've been asking for it. The best thing we have is from Islander
I think the SZSB014 and 012 are really nice (SARB alternative). 😢hey are $220 on Amazon right now (SARB was $350, but I got mine for $300). They do not have sapphire, but they are nice. I bought the 014. The bracelet is superior the the SARB033 in every way. For the SARB033 & 035 (cream dial), check out the Seiko SZSB series over the AliExpress homages I have seen (no comment on Cocktail and Alpinist as I never pended those)
Dear Watcher, I cannot thank you enough for this most amazing video. The amount of work, knowledge, research, expertise, experience and dedication you bring to the table are truly unmatched in the CZcams World. You Sir are just brilliant in the horology arena. Thank you as I know this took a tremendous amount of time which is in limited supply to everyone specially family time. You have done such a tremendous contribution and gift to our watch community. We have all benefitted so much, thank you mate. God bless.
Totally appreciate it Felo, thank you for leaving ur comments and support always !
Totally in agreement with you there :)
@@TheWatcherReviews 👍👍👍
My Steeldive 62MAS was excellent. Kind of thick for a 62MAS homage but beautiful.
I had the Merkur, but sold it when times got tough. If you ever want to sell it, I’m your first call!
I would be remiss if I didn’t recommend the 35mm Escapement Time hi-beat quartz, which is likely an homage to an early 70s King Seiko. Great video, thanks for giving me the full length!
I love watching the watcher watch watches
I know you probably haven't had exposure to them but the best SKX homages are supposedly from Long Island Watch.
I believe you're right but the focus was aliexpress watches. Islander have the only sarb homages out too
@@TheWatcherReviews ... very true ... oops lol.
I'm a bit late here, obvioulsy. But great work. You always do interesting videos, but I really appreciate all the extra work you went through here. There are so many brands hommaging various Seikos. I own the SD Willard, SD Tuna, the Seestern 62mas and think all of them are great value for money.
When it comes to SKX I have one little odd Heimdallr in titanium and a cool orange dial, which have different indicies and hands (forgot which Seiko model that have those) and I think that's a cool summer watch, and differs nicely from my real SKX009. It was a good price at an AE sale.
Not sure if this counts here, but the Escapement Time dress watch which seems like an old King Seiko is great as well for the price. I'm awaiting the Rmlti GS homage with that grey linage dial from latest 11.11 sale, and am quite excited about that one (your fault lol, your review made me get it). Keep up the good work.
Appreciate it man, yeh these vids take alot of work to make but they are quite fun too!
Another killer video Thanks and I have to finish putting up my hurricane shutters Again Stay safe Florida and entire east coast Prayers go out to all being affected Stay Frosty my friend 👍
Love to see some Presage Cocktail homages.
Superb video was very interesting, i really like the Proxima mod you did fantastic. I never really did catch who does the best bracelet? Any thoughts ? Thanks
Mm300? San martin
I enjoyed the video!
Glad you enjoyed it!
I'm really interested in that Rmalty MM200 but two things irk me and that's the blue AR to the crystal, and the clasp. Being a watch modder, do you know of an aftermarket crystal with clear AR that would fit it? Maybe it takes an SKX007 crystal? I am OK doing crystal swaps. Also for the clasp - do you think there's another clasp with more microadjustments that would fit it? Thanks.
Hy, wich one is the best skx homage?? Steeldive or tandorio?
I purchased the SMITHS Willard homage
why don't you just buy the real willard?
@@donkykon2094 I picked mine used for $250 Canadian so price was one factor and I like SMITHS
Well done
That special edition green tuna can!! Looks like something an anime protagonist wears
Yeh its a direct homage of the seiko zaku gundam series
Hey brother. Great review! What was the watch you were wearing? Are there any of those left available or are they all sold out?
Thanks!
Not sure if all sold out, check the site. Its called hexmariner by revelot
@@TheWatcherReviews thank you very much brother. I greatly appreciate you letting me know. Awesome looking Diver!
Where did you get the dial for your 62mas from? It looks great!
Aliexpress
I saw the Proxima MM300 SBDX001 homage after your excellent video, I noticed three version: nh35 (U$ 204), pt5000 (U$ 240) and sw200 (U$ 354), which one will you choose? Give me reasons for your, choice, please.
Nh35 is reliable and will work for a long time, pt5000 is high beat and from proxima is comes well tested so I would go for that considering the price difference isnt alot. Benefit of nh35 is that u can replace the movement cheap if it goes wrong
@@TheWatcherReviews I was afraid to go to service soon when using pt5000 instead nh35
@@TheWatcherReviews thanks a lot for helping me to take a better decision, as well as to share your knowledge with us
Hey. I just ordered a SKX007 Marine300 Dive nh36a black from heimdallr to start my jouney in this rabbithole :D peace from germany
I wish someone would make a decent Alpinist homage (with a black dial!)
Proxima GS?
I love my san martin bronce tuna lovely 300m diver
I know the sstern 62mas homage is the best but I'm wondering if it's worth getting it with a bracelet?
Yes it is
@@TheWatcherReviews is the font of the lumed bezel more green shifted than the font of a non-lumed bezel? I'm considering getting the 62mas without lume bezel because I want my bezel font to stay white...
Its closer to white
@@TheWatcherReviews thx watcher but if I want the whitest white on the bezel, should I just go without full bezel lume?
No lume, but full lume looks awesome at night
Just got the seestern 62mas homage...excellent quality and fantastic lume. The new bracelet has female links.signed clasp and lume on bezel and date window.
Much better than any seiko below 600$
Where did you get that Seiko 62MAS dial loose?
Aliexpress
@@TheWatcherReviews oh so fake?
@@nintendokings no, real
Are there any Samurai homages?
Not that many, we have one from proxima.
Sorry bro , can you find any watch made by japans which includes some features like gmt , diver's , date ? Thanks a lot .
Seiko / citizen
@@TheWatcherReviews grand seiko sbgv245 $ 6600 :( , vostok komandirskie k-39 $313 :) but warranty 1 year :( , ballwatch dg3000a $3300 :( .....
Holy shit Watcher. We are not worthy!!! :D
Sorry man, what watch did you show on your wrist on the min 3:00 ?
Hexmariner by Revelot
@@TheWatcherReviews looks amazing!
For the longest time I've always wanted an Alpinist homage but none have made one yet to my knowledge but I could be wrong.
I was going to ask the same question
There is a seiko tic tac homage but no alpinist
AliExpress must be pissed you didn't do this 8 days ago. 😆
🤣🤣🤣
In steeldive movement are original or chinese replica?
Original
@@TheWatcherReviews Thank You ;)
❤❤❤
All good fam, but the real question remains... How many of those bracelets can peel a potato 🥔? 😂
None in my collection fam 😉
My God just realize about your thumb, can you tell me what's happened with your thumb just out of my curiosity? Hope you're alright
Yeh all good, just cut it off in an industrial accident years ago
Super,🙂
Just buy the real deal. I mean if you can't even afford a genuine Seiko you should collect Casio's and otherwise quit the hobby and earn some money. Video greatly done but I do not recommend to anybody to buy a Seiko Homage...
Turtle Time, my Guy, nearly all my collection is Seiko, but you can't knock them unless you tried them right?
Also, no everyone has money to throw on watches specially if these homages provide somewhere better specs for alot less. It allows alot more people to get into the hobby and also allows many different types of watches to be enjoyed and designs which the OEM didn't make.
You have to respect all elements of the watch hobby, even the super clones. My opinion anyway.
If you buy a good seiko homage there's a better chance you're going to get an aligned bezel at half the price with a Seiko clone movement in it.
@@violinmke no Seiko clone movement, original seiko movement
@@TheWatcherReviews I've spend some wrist time with a San Martin and a steel dive and it's not bad, but it also isn't great. far from it. because you're missing out on history, true craftsman ship, WARRANTY, and originality. And of course you should ask yourself, am I okay with sponsoring Aliexpress....
@@MisterTurtleTime absolutely ok with it 👌yeah i agree with the rest which is why i have my seiko collected
I didn't realise the steel dive had dropped in price.great value
The Tandorio 62MAS Homage is a fantastic timepiece. I have the one with the PT5000 movement, but it is also available with the NH35A movement. The only drawback is the Luminescence. But still recommended. JANBOY. RN. Rtd.
Hi Watcher. You clearly put a lot of effort into this video and I thank you for putting in all the effort. Just a comment: the fact that you waved your right hand around in front of the camera constantly throughout the video, was extremely distracting. It kept drawing attention away from the watch that you were trying to show and the observations that you were making about the watches. The randomly waving right hand unfortunately detracted from an otherwise excellent and comprehensive video.
