- A special surprise for us on day of Goodwood as we arrived at Porsche’s secret location outside of the FOS. After our last video of the GT3 on track, I simply couldn’t resist the opportunity to drive the new 992 Touring PDK on the road! And spoiler: it might be the greatest car I’ve ever driven.

So say hello to the 992 GT3 Touring, spec’d by head of GT product Andreas Preuninger himself, in a lovely dolomite silver. The touring’s first impression is even wider than the wing car, you notice the stance more!
Now incase you don’t know, the Touring is identical to the winged version on both a technical and performance basis. Like the GT3 the touring produces 503BHP, 470NM and a claimed 0-60 of 3.4 seconds. Crucially, it’s now available in both Manual and PDK!! As with the winged car, the car now features a double wishbone suspension that we will explore. And the touring still provides the same downforce as the winged car, again technically identical.
There are some cool unique bits to point out too. Gone is the black plastic front end often pointed out in the winged car, replaced with a fully painted one. This now sets the touring apart and I think makes the whole front flow better. Our car also has the optional touring pack darkened lights, window trim and exhaust, and carbon exhaust.
Insidelongside the steering wheel, our arm rests, door panels, centre lid are all in leather, and GT3 logos replaced with Porsche Crest. But you can also get coloured leather and two tone arrangements too! My favourite bit was the leather with dragon scale like embossing.

Just get a GTS. They're amazing too. Mine still sounds fantastic from inside the cabin. That flat 6 shrieks as you approach redline!

I agree and it's less complex. Not sure what happens or aero balance, however. I'd like a 1973 "ducktail" spoiler as long as I could get the Op-Art seat inserts.
True. I think it would be a better option to order an aftermarket duck tail for the touring since it's already adjusted for the lack of a rear wing
It’s a shame they took away the little “duck tail” that sits under the GT3’s wing, that would look great on the touring, though maybe mess up the airflow with the extendable wing. Would look great though, and defo, rear seat option is a must!!!! 🙏🏻
you're probably right about the airflow. That duck tail is designed for the swan neck. If anything they could have designed another duck tail that's designed specifically for the turing.

Agreed Stefan, a duck tail designed for the touring would finish off the back beautifully. Even just a small lip like sits below the wing on the gt3 would make the rear of the car that little bit more aesthetically pleasing and special looking.

i think because of the seats it is configured in, there is no rear seats. he got the performance seats, not the 18 way adjustable seats

Great video. I totally agree with having rear seats! That’s why I’ve still got my 991.1 GTS because of the normally aspirated engine and the rear seats for the times the Mrs needs the family car and I need to take the kids out. Please give us a family GT3!!! 😄

I have a 2016 GT3 and totally agree with those who would like a rear seat. I may not need it often but it would be nice to have when I do. It's not like it's going to take away from it's track-focused theme, it's already pretty apparent. Want really track-focused? Go GT3RS.

Absolutely love your passion for Porsche, and this new model! Terrific review, i am trying to get on a list here in the states. For me I want the wing and PDK version. I absolutely see the value in the touring version but my dream car has always been the wing version. Keep up the mega work.

I always wondered why Porsche didn’t offer rear seats for the GT3 touring free of charge… it makes a lot of sense. Daily car, kids to school, and race car when you are on your own… please Porsche, listen to our demands!!!!!!!

Back seat option, Yes
In terms of the front facia, it's all gonna depend on your spec of paint color. In certain colors, especially in the lighter shades, the front facia looks better in the black matte finish. But in darker colors like Black Metallic or Gentian Blue, then the body color fascia looks quite good.

One thing that's cool about the normal GT3 and GT3 Touring PDK version is that you can basically turn off the soft limiter. The way to do that is to pull both paddles at the same exact time, at a standstill and then you can rev your GT3 all the way to 9,000 rpm.

8:03 this is actually a great shot. I always knew the PDK is pretty quick but apparently it isn't as quick as I thought it would be. It's not instant, but the delay is pretty short

I have a 992 2C 7MT on order. Dec delivery. When this came out i had time to switch. I called my guy and was told. There are 24 ppl in front of you on a car that was JUST released. I guess its being passed onto non Touring ppl on hold to choose leaving everyone else on the curb. Makes me want it that much MOOOORE!!!! *shakes fist screaming to the sky*
Why did i not order the regular GT3? Oh i would have. And dont let anyone who had the option fool you. They didnt. Again id be 2023 deep.
