Suspension travel on the 2RS looks like it’s been adjusted for street comfort, and 100% is what’s costing the GT2RS the great launch it can do

Why instead of look?
Guy who owned both cars racing them on Nürburgring said that GT2 RS might have the quicker single lap time, but in a race over many laps, the GT3 takes it every time because- easier on the tyres, no turbo to overheat etc. It's a shame that a large amount of car culture gets reduced down to this American straight line stuff but, it's interesting all the time and great video.

Nice vid. Drove a GT4 at the Porsche Centre at Silverstone a few weeks back. Epic handling and 80mph in 2nd gear. I can only imagine how well the GT4RS goes especially with that JCR exhaust.

What is the primary difference between the GT2 RS and GT3 RS? I'm new to the Porsche fandom community. I thought the GT3 RS was the best of the best but this just proved my thoughts wrong!
@@grahamkracker456The gt2 rs is the ultimate track Porsche followed by the 3, then 4. The 2rs is in top 10 on the Nurburgring I think..For a production vehicle...
@@grahamkracker456 the gt3 RS is a naturally aspirated track weapon focused purely on the driving experience and an utterly incredibly engine sound. The GT2RS is a turbo charged track weapon that is far more lairy and is monstrous in a straight line. This GT2RS is also the old model as they haven’t made a new comparable 992 GT2RS yet. When that arrives, not much will keep up with it in a straight line.

I was surprised the GT4RS got the GT3RS, great show.
The JCR GT4 RS was rapid ! Without the exhaust I think it would have been closer.. I also wish I had played more with the diff settings etc on my GT3RS .. but on the day the GT4RS won fair and square.. it’s a great car.. thanks Johnny for letting me have a go too 🙌

Nah, the gt3rs has so much drag, it's obviously slower in a straight line but quicker around the track because of the formidable downforce

@@MinatoNamikaze-se9tm The GT2 RS is slower than the GT3 RS on that circuit 6.47 vs 6.44, you might refer to the GT2 RS MR which is a modified car. But any circuit is different so it would be great to watch.

Ouch ! but I’ll take that !! It was my first drag race and first time using launch on the car.. I’m sure with a pro driver it would have been slightly closer.. but not enough to catch that GT4RS on the day.. it was pretty much same power as my car, lighter with a pro ex racing driver and better aero for drag racing.. my wing looks mega I think… but it’s for track downforce not drag racing !

It would be great to see you taking them all out for timed laps as Top Gear used to do. Invite viewers to bring their stock/ modified cars along for you to take out on track and compare times.

It would be interesting to know on what tires the cars were running on. All in all there was very little tracktion, may be a 2nd run on a more dry and warm surface provides other results.

The car has a tune and an aftermarket exhaust as well, they mentioned it at the start. Because the 4Rs really isn’t that fast

@@domonokun Carwow did just a race with the GT3 + 4 variants and the GT3 RS beat the 4 RS by a couple car lengths in the 1/4 mile.

Man, how'd you guys expect to have any chance against the GT2 RS? hahahaha it's just beastly, on another level! The GT2 RS is the proper 911 RS car, insane handling with insane power. The GT3 RS and GT4 RS are crazy cars no doubt but they have "only" around 500 hp which isn't enough by today's standards. Hope Porsche puts at least 600hp in the next GT3 RS version in some years...
Depends on the emissions regulations of that time, Porsche engineers have said that it’s no problem to get 600hp even from the N/A 4.0 - but they would need a less strict exhaust system and a bit higher rpm redline. But the regulations become harder every year and we should thank them a lot only for their efforts to keep n/a engines in the gt3 line nowadays

If the GT4RS was stock, do you think it would be closer with the GT3RS? Seems kind of odd that it's so much faster than the GT3RS, doesn't it? Although having said that, I was watching a track drive between a 992 GT3 and a GT4RS (both stock) and the GT4RS consistently pulled away from the GT3 on the straights.
Probably not, the downforce isn’t good for drag races, around a track? Hell yes.
Gt3rs has a huge wing that creates alot of downforce hence slowing it down. And where did you see gt4rs being faster than a gt3😂😂.
Stock for stock they’re very similar, once the 4RS has some JCR mods, well.. This is the result

As a owner of a GT2RS and 992 GT3 MR, I’m not surprised. Love both cars but the GT3 hits around 150 mph in the same distance the 2RS hits 169 mph. That’s the acceleration difference. Braking is amazing in both cars, but slightly stronger in the 992 with the Manthey spec.
If you want a fast car, but love tech in cars which is better 2023 gt3rs, 2023 gt4rs, or 2018 gt2rs?
After the first go on 09, I would have switched to 27…
09 has had its numbers hit to many times. That was a bouncing ride.

GT3 RS is set up for downforce, not outright speed. It would eat the others alive on a circuit.
I would pick the GT3RS(not because of looks, but the engine) for track, and GT4RS for road (THE CABIN SOUND IS BETTER THAN THE GT3’s!! It’s imo the best sounding new production car in the world!)

Turbo s would easily win starting from 0 and pretty definitive too since little to no wheel spin and would be far ahead. Rolling start would be closer to 2 RS

This is what massive down force does to a GT3 RS. Built for the corners, not so much straight light acceleration.

great video and comparisment. but the only thing I see is: is anything goes sideways no one of those drivers will hold their cars with that mich power in that seating position. way to far away from the stearing. (accept of the dude in the GT4RS - that's a proper seating position for that amount of car/power)

The crazy thing is the gt4 ie they Caymen is nerfed because the mid engine layout with an equal engine would exceed the 911
