Amazing machine. I initially thought it would top out at 290 kph, which would already be super quick. But for such a large luxury limo to do 321 kph with ease is simply outstanding. I would love to see this test again after you guys tuned it. Keep it up lads!

290 kph would be pretty low. Pretty sure a 40i can already do 280 easily

@@MrMk82 I haven't set it to the 320km/h scale but on the normal 260km/h scale with the M Performance look since the car is an MSport package, they just do blend better together imho

I was never a fan of it. Make noises, a lot of problems, bad aerodynamic and a lot of weight in a wrong position.

You just gotta love BMW. They even let you put a final touch to their car, that masking tape trick to alleviate the noise caused by the sunroof. Never seen that one before.

When you code the speedometer to work past 263 I believe the only other option is 321kmh which is handy
The sunroof does not make that sound on the m760. I had it up to 172 mph once and it was very quiet. However, there is a rubber gasket that is on the driver and passenger, outlining the edges of the roof which lifted up. Had the dealer replace it under warranty a couple of times but it seems at sustained high speeds it lifts. I put invisible tape on it and it’s been fine since.
I can't wait to see what will come out from this little build. I am sure it will be interesting!

Two things id suggest to you: firstly, after the last service it got a softlimiter while it didnt have one before, and also the exhaust valves dont stay open anymore like they used to. So in case yours has the newer software which it most likely does, it recommend you get that coded differently aswell. Also, the rear M Sport spoilerlip would suit it.

hahaha the sunroof !! reminds me of my 2018 SL63, when I hit 270 the passenger window seal let go a little and it made a noise which scared me enough to decide not to go that fast anymore.

About the comment with gaps between the 2 phones - I would think the one in km/h is more accurate - taking into account that until 263 (when the dashboard speedo hits the ‘limit’) the km/h phone app and the dashboard speedo are more or less in sync.
I would be curious what tires were used in the test; I assume a winter model taking into account the external temperatures but for G11 LCI I am not sure any brand provides a RunFlat winter model guaranteed for speeds higher than 240. Most probably the Alpina route is the winner here - give-up RunFlats and easily install non-RunFlat winter tires for 300+ (with a slight suspension adjustment).
Would do 2.6 front and rear, the tyre pressure will rise as the tyre is heating up

The G11 is like a modern E38 to me. Never owned anything above a 320d F30 but I love BMW.

Did this once with a BMW760 (former modell F01). Also reached about 310 km/h on free German Highway; but that speed is not really fun; pure stress. 250 is a nice maximum speed at empty highways.

Unbelievably and effortlessly quick for such a large and heavy car! This while remaining in complete comfort. Quicker than any supercar just 10 years ago. Also 530hp? More like 600hp BMW :D

Great video - the duck type on the roof made me laugh hard..😂 Also funny to see that the tire presure sensors seem to be not really accurate.. I have exactly the same thing with my 5 series (G31).. Driving me nuts... Filling up, checking at the gas station -> all fine.. Starting the car: 4 different results from the internal sensors... Made me check again at another gas station (result: the integrated sensors are not 100% correct).
My E39 540i wipers adjust themselves at autobahn speeds,have seen 270 easily with a simple ECU reflash and steady as a rock...it is from 1997.

For brakes, you just need better pads, brake lines and brake fluid. Put some Endless ma45b endurance pads, steel lines and Endless racing brake fluid. With this setup you can even do Nurburgring laps with this boat. 😂

How does Alpina solve the issue with the sunroof on the B7, which is based on the G11? That model officially reaches 330 kph and that noise would be insufficient. Any chance of adjustment of the sunroof in closed position?

I have a 2014 750i and...yeah I want another one. Within 2019 and 2022.
The double-phone setup might be an inconvenience for you guys, but it's really nice for the viewer.
That even without being that purpose is useful information to the consumer. Basically it is not recommended to buy it with a sunroof if you try speeds beyond the limiter.
