I have been enjoying my 2018 V4S for close to two years now. Did 18 track days on it. I keep up with the latest by upgrading to R fairings, dry clutch, Evo2 software, etc, etc. It is an amazing machine. Interestingly enough, for me quick shifter was never ideal, even after installing tension type sensor, it was only after installing Evo 2 race oriented software package on it, which does include upgraded QS logic, it was operating flawlessly in the last two track days. COTA in USA is very hard on brakes, all that is needed is some Vesrah race pads - solid feel all day any temp. Good review !

GREAT review guys ! You confirmed my belief that purchasing new 2017 1299 S a year ago was the best decision I could have made. 14,000 fun reliable miles , my daily driver I LOVE the untamed power, Always in race mode. The 1299 WILL chew you up and spit you out IF you let it ! It begs too be ridden hard and demands respect makes me feel alive ! I have a 2020 V4 S street fighter on order in memory of Carlin Dunne, what a lose to the motorcycle world. Probably in 2 years get a Panigale R . I do a little track time and a lot of street racing . The 1299 with Akra full race exhaust , only modification , 197 rear wheel horse on 91 octane pump gas, ran a 9.8 1/4 mile 138.8 mph and I had a terrible reaction time. OH, I'm over 70 LOL

Was introduced to 44 teeth a few weeks ago by a friend and have since been going through the extensive back catalogue of videos. I am hooked! Who ever would have thought that Jason Statham and David Walliams, on bikes, would make for such excellent viewing.

Thank god, cuz my 19' V4 S is a nut cooker for sure. I will say owning the Previous V4 S is definitely the tops as far as Pride of Ownership, and it was as lively as you said, especially in Race Mode, where power wheelies are possible.
All Panigale’s will roast you 😂... I’m starting to think thats the reason their so fast because the rider doesn’t want to get burnt 🤣

I have 2019 Panigale v4s, love it, is a beast and for few dollars can stick on the wings, only for street riding.

Wheelie control 3 on my 2018 V4 will get some decent air, you've gotta turn traction control down or have it in race mode
Like you said, if you had more time to try different combinations I bet you could get something you'd prefer settings wise.
Also the 2018 had cylinder shut down also, even my dealer didn't know about it lol

Great review guys as always. Just a quick addition, the rear cylinders shutting off is also on the older V4's. It was actually one of the first updates for the V4 back in 2018.
The video quality is epic. This is the only channel I cast to the TV.
After watching all the reviews at Jerez for the new V2 being a bike that is easier to ride and less ball breaking compared to the current V4S, I was like great a bike for me. Then they bring this one out with its smoothed off edges and less ball ripping maniac setup and now I am thinking, do I really want a V2? I do definitely want to keep my balls from being ripped off though. Nice vid as always gents.
The previous v4 shutoff cylinders also. When I sit in traffic, you can literally hear it and feel it shut the cylinders down.
My 2018 V4s back cylinders cut off in traffic it was a dealer recall update for the first gen V4. It was part of a £1500 recall to help with the heat generated So it isn’t a new thing on the second gen.

The reason the RSV4 kept winning SBOTY & group tests etc. Was because it was useable, no point having the most power if it was a wild Stella infused council estate tart to ride ! This bike is awesome ! I wanted the 1st gen but I really want this one ! Shame I can’t afford it this year 😭

Entertaining as ever but very eloquently explained the differences. Refreshing to hear Ducati have responded: maybe so not too many buy the more manageable V2 over the V4 given that most of us would be intimidated by the former version £££££. 👍🏻

Awesome video guys great content, one thing though is the b-roll shots on the track should perhap be shot in 30 fps or matched in editing just imo but i reckon it'll smoother when cutting between trailer footage and the main shots of you guys talking. Cheers

Just watched the v2 video and seriously thinking of getting one next year. I wonder if many would down size to have more usable power. With a young family I cant justify the 20k v4 price tag.

Won’t be swapping my 19 V4s for one. Made the panigale even tamer, no thanks... and the back two cylinders turn off at lights on the 19s too, not sure about 18.

I went from only riding Honda’s (f4i for a month back in 2000, then to a 929 etc etc) to buying an 1199 tricolore in 2015 without ever riding it. Best thing I’ve ever done in regards to Motos... then to a 1299s 3 years ago and also picked up an s1000rr. Both bikes with full akras and the basic must do mods, dyno tuning. The 1299 is just the bike I want to be on. The bmw was good, but being 30-40lbs heavier it just never really got me going. The 1299 is a great bike, just wish ducati upped it to a 1499 like every mad rider wants. I’d trade it tomorrow for one. Should probably start a pole and get people to put deposits down for a 1499 so they’ll actually make one😂🍻

The back cylinders turned off on the old bike as well, I have a 2018 one and here in italy in summer I'm always running on 2 cylinders when at lights

I finally was able to get a face to face look at a 2020 V4. I ride a 1299 base.... I swear that 2020 version has to be 15cm (half a foot) wider than my bike. Almost reminds me of some old school bikes that were wide as a MAC truck. I guess im use to the skinny V-twin. On track my 1299 is so much work but its pure joy for me... I never get tired of the hard hitting mid rang punch.
