Official music video for "Asbestos Lead Asbestos" by Meat Beat Manifesto, taken from their 1996 album 'Subliminal Sandwich', released on Play It Again Sam.
So I was watching tv and I saw one of those commercials for the baby powder lawsuits, and when it said “asbestos” out of nowhere, I started singing this song. I had to google it to see who it was by, and I literally haven’t heard a word about Meat Beat Manifesto in so damn long...at least 20 years. And yeah that’s why I’m here. It was cool reminiscing about the era in which this song came out...I remember it well. Hoping the mothership will come bring me home tonight. 👽 🛸 🖖
World Domination Enterprises version was also a cover. The original Asbestos Lead Asbestos was created by a band called THE 012 from 'Lets Get Proffesional' album!
Omg So true. I miss how MTV had AMP and turned us on to good tracks like this. I was already a MBM fan but I loved that #MTV played these tracks. Now it's just crap like Siesta Key. Such a shame.
When I was 9 I got a music sampler cd from Blockbuster Music featuring this song along with Walflowers, Cardigans, Reel Big Fish, Sublime and a lot of other bands - I don’t think I’ve heard this song in 20 years,
I became a MOM hahaha! But hey, once they've went on to college or whatever, I can be one of those cool old folks at the party dancing with the youngsters & eatin some psychs ;)
Love these guys. Im blessed enough to get the see them almost every Halloween in SF at their private partys. Great fuckin music, great fucking guys, insane parties. I hope theres a Halloween next year.
I love subliminal. Man u guys helped me design my life when I was sixteen years old. I'm now 44 years old. Three major federal investigation s against me with major mc 1%clubs did fed time and still kicking I hope meat beat comes out with some new shit like the old shit cause that moved mountains ty again guys u rock
We were warned about this shit over 20 years ago. Many "alternative" artists at the time went on and on and on about how we were slowly being more and more compromised by corporate powers and nobody did anything. Now we have a post modern matrix problem of epic proportions. At least in the 90's people had fight in them, nowdays, they've don't even know they need to.
MBM are one of my favourite bands, their “Radio Babylon/Helter Skelter” 12” is astounding, and one of my Top Ten 12 inchers! But I have to say…I don’t think they did this song justice, it’s a bit anaemic! The original World Domination Enterprises 7” is a kickass record and I expected more from a MBM version.
Agreed, the WDE original has a visceral quality, reminds me a lot of Big Black The MBM version is still quality tho, but yeah the original is a perfect snapshot of mid 80s UK post punk noise
Lets take a nice, gritty old single and make a sappy smooth dance 12", cos we're really awful people. I hope World Domination Enterprises got enough money to move out of the squat, cos i dont think their lp did beans.
Maybe this is mentioned in one of the sub comments, but the original is technically not by WDE. It was first done by the earlier version of that band...back when they were 012: czcams.com/video/x2WyuPCSseY/video.html
I saw this video in the 90s watching MTV in a truck stop, high as a kite at 3 am.

Believe it or not, this is a cover. Original is by World Domination Enterprises. I still get chills listening to the first disc of Subliminal Sandwich

Well, they wrote a wicked bassline on this.
I have the original on 7" vinyl 👍👏👏😳

@@ZackCZcams The 012 evolved into WDE. Both were Kif Kif's bands. Kif Kif wrote the song.
I don't know how many times I've seen this video and just now realized the lady at the podium waving her arms is playing a theremin 😂
Man, brings me back to long summers in between high school years. Bong rips and mtv2 a to z all summer long.
Take me back to seeing Jack in concert, running around the stage messing with keyboard and sequencers. Absolute Magic.

Tranquility Bass - we all want to be free

I had the same one! That's exactly what brought me here. I'd love to find that. Edit: I just bought one off eBay for $10.

I used to listen to this while on acid many many many moons ago...💜
Good times.

Molly Lenore me too baby...hee heeeee

I've always had my suspicions and have come to the conclusion that this vid exposes Mr. Dangers as alien.
I love the spooky of this track.
Man this takes me back... They used to play this up in the club! :D
Love these guys. Im blessed enough to get the see them almost every Halloween in SF at their private partys. Great fuckin music, great fucking guys, insane parties. I hope theres a Halloween next year.
That sounds like heaven...✨
I am a professional asbestos expert. Love that there is music about asbestos out there! “Asbestos - the magic mineral!”
Did you get the lead out?

@@Optimissed as president he was commander in chief.
I play this song when signing a lease at a new apartment complex....
MTV had a late night techno show called "AMP" check it out.
Ah the memories and Jack is still killing it in the studio.
240 people recognize some true originators. 1 person has bad taste. 25,000 have no idea what they just watched.

Current mood...5/16/2020...
I'm fairly certain this is the Jeff Bezos origin story. The video clearly captures his likeness. ... "Besos Jeffe Bezos"

Why is Restricted Mode enabled on this video? Point to me where this would warrant this video needing restrictions?
Oh shit this is relevant again!
Not a good thing but at least I get to listen to this song.

Why do I feel like I'm one of the few who actually understands what this song is saying?
I'm not narcissistic.
Someday, someone will point out to you that you're not as smart as you think you are. And it won't be us, because we're the smart ones.
GauntLife Exactly.
