This method makes so much more sense than the laborious labor I have put into other techniques. And it would appear that if you have left over "powder" you could just seal it up too for future use? Thanks for a great professional video with very clear instructions. Very much appreciated. New subscriber because of it.
Great video. 😊 Could you tell me why it needs to be dried first? If we took wet clay and added water to it, then mixed that up with a blender or something to make the same whippy texture, would that work?
Thank you! Once it's dry, you can turn it into powder. That way you can control the final consistency a little more precisely by slowly adding water. On the other hand, when you start from a wet piece and add water, the final consistency will most likely be too liquid/fluid, in which case you should wait for the water to evaporate so that the slip is a little denser. You can get slip in both ways, and both have their pros and cons. But this way always seemed more practical to me! I hope my answer is helpful!
perdón por mi ignorancia... pero, se puede usar para beber algo? bueno, ya que mezclas arcilla y agua... pienso que si tomo agua con ella se derretirá haha
Hey I'm sorry but I think it's better to just mix clay and water. Let it sit for a while and it'll be easy to mix. Airbone dust from dry clay is dangerous for lungs 🥺
This is the most efficient way to do it and allows you to really control the density of your slip. Do not be afraid of dust, it's an intrinsic part of ceramics, just be very careful, I recommend using a mask and safety glasses!
Could you do a video about all the tools we need to start working with clay please ! 🤎🤎
Hi, yes! I'd love to!
@@UmiCeramics thank you ❤
That looks like perfect slip.
Muy buen video! Muchas gracias por subirlo!

Hi! How long did it take for the clay to be bone dry? :)
Forbidden peanut butter 🥹
how many grams of clay did you use to make this amount of slip? :)
Can I put colors and what is the quality of the colors?
Que tela es la que usas como mantel? Recomendarias usar un plástico para que la arcilla se seque menos rápido?

this is works with ceramics too?
Where do you store the slip when finished?
In an airtight container
hiii can i know what table cloths did you use??
Hi! I always use canvas, a very thin one that has almost no texture!
It last a long time ?
hi!! May I know where did you buy the clay that you use please 🙏 Thank you 😊
Hi, In this video I'm using a low temperature white clay manufacturated by Arcillas del Sur, a company from Argentina!
@@UmiCeramics
Thank you for replying 😊
Can you conserve it ?
Where do you store slip when finished?
I think any airtight container will work, Tupperware is what I use
Is that a slip we can use for mocha diffusion?
Hi, for the mocha diffusion technique, the slip must be more fluid, neither too thick nor too runny.
how long can I use this or is this for only one use ?
Hi! I've used it for weeks. This particular container is quite airtight. But once the slip starts to dry you can add water again
May i ask... what's a clay slip?😅
Its glue

Composition???
The recipe the clay dough
I wanna eat it so badly
I would like you to cast that, it looks way to thick.
Hello, this clay slip is used to join pieces, it's not the one used for plaster molds
