My three sons was the classic family TV show when I was growing up in the sixties nice to see it again thanks
You're welcome
I'll bet there were a lot of laughs at those ridiculous costumes 🤣
Such a sweet show. Nice to just enjoy a show.
LOVED MY THREE SONS!
Sweet episode, great characters, nice morals - thanks for posting
Clean, G rated family oriented....and I still love the show!😅😅😅
Classic Gold 🥇🥇 Television 📺 at it's Best PERIOD.
Love " My Three Sons.' I love when Katie and Robbie had the triplets..
Love that guitar playing. Music was part of the Douglas clan.
This show went off the air 50 years ago, after--are you ready--12 seasons.
I had no idea that "My Three Sons" was on for 12 seasons....
12 seasons.
Oh that Ernie ! What a rascal ! Who knows what wacky shenanagins he'll get into next ! I remember watching this series as a youngster in the 60s & early 70s. In the last couple of seasons there certainly were a LOT of changes (Rob getting married, Katie having triplets, Chip getting married, Steve getting married, etc). Thanks for uploading for us to enjoy.
My 3 sons a legacy of love n understanding that will live for ever within our lifetime ❤
I know! I skipped a couple of seasons and was COMPLETELY CONFUSED! Triplets?! Whaaat? Dodie? Barbara?!
It took a couple episodes to catch on. 🤓
When does Chip get married ?
That dream Barbara had was beyond weird.
I remember Chip does wear brown harness cowboy boots with stubbed (square) toes in 1971. These boots are popular in the early 1970s.
Dodie was the Cousin Oliver of My Three Sons
Beverly Garland is a babe!!!
😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍
As much as I hated Dodie, Ernie should have had more responsibility toward her at that time, since Barbara ordered him to take care of her while she was gone.
It's a shame how these old shows are chopped up and edited for TV. Minutes lopped off so they can cram in more commercials.
They always chopped out Fred MacMurray saying "Hi. Welcome to our show" before the opening credits.
Amen
Fred's HI was left intact back in the late 70's and early 80's when the show was run here in Chicago on WGN. 3 cheers for WGN-TV9 which ruled here Back in the Day!!!
I miss Mike the original older brother
The shows with Tim Considine were, in my opinion, slightly better.
Tim Considine has recently passed away 😩
@@maddyhayes617 I heard he passed away
@wb3381, I agree with you 100% Percent!
@joecool97 Robbie barely smiled and was always serious
brings back memories
Awesome tube amp with what looks to be a Gibson 335.
Steve has great legs!
Thxs!
I love Dodie - she's such a cutie and funny! I also love her doll Myrtle.
I love her too - she’s a riot.
Ugh seriously that's when I stopped watching!
@@Talletc GROuCH!!!
When Dawn Lynn got older and grew up she became quite a beauty. Her brother Leif Garrett was a huge teen star in the late 1970s. Sadly he passed away.
@@oldgordo61 Leif is still alive.
These episodes were rerun during summers when I was a kid ‘78 or ‘79. When nickat nite started airing the black and white ipeisides around ‘85, I was very confused
2:40- Amazing that father-of-hyperactive-triplets Robbie didn't so much as acknowledge either Dodie's or Barbara's presences much less advise Ernie on keeping a closer watch on Dodie until Barbara's return - and only Chip acknowledged Barbara having spoken to Ernie!
Robbie was not there in the Living Room. It was Chip's friend repairing the amplifier.
@@car-less-ness6770 No, it was Robbie himself repairing the amplifier not 'Chip's friend'. There were no guest performers credited for this episode AND no one called Ernie 'Ern' besides Robbie. I think this was somewhat mimicking how the late Don Grady would encourage his co-stars in their musical pursuits . However, Robbie totally ignoring the need to watch Dodie (and Barbara talking to Ernie) was rather neglectful on Robbie's part.
@@wardarcade7452 yeah it was definitely Rob.
@@irisfryer6531 Thank you!
I agree I wish tv was the way it used to be not to many commercials nothing but garbage today tv back then only showed one or sometimes 2 Commercials at a time have some old DVDs I got from a private collector that had DVDs with the original commercials intact nothing like this garbage that’s out today and I’m only 56 years old
I grew up watching this show when new.I liked Ernie the best of the boys, and preferred the eps before the dad married. That Dodie was a pest. This show was on every Saturday evening, when new.
I cannot understand why everything fell on just Ernie and Chip and Robbie were let off the hook. They all should have gotten it.😮😮😮
Robbie was not there.
@@car-less-ness6770 Oops.
Robbie was there.
never see that coming
Like my three sons
Ernieeeee!!!
Dodi was adorable.
Glad I watched this new. Ernie was adorable, Robbie was cute. I hated that Dodie, she was so babyish, in behavior and talking, even worse than Cindy Brady, and she was 7! Also surprising is how quickly the three boys accepted Barbara as a stepmom, they were used to one parent.
It was interesting to read your comment. I never have thought that Ernie was adorable except when he was a little guy. He is annoying to me especially in this episode as he is completely irresponsible and quite arrogant. I've always liked Robbie. While Dodie's character is not my favorite, I like her better than Cindy Brady, whom now that I think about it, annoyed me with her baby talk and I think she was worse than Dodie. I enjoyed the shows with Dodie in it prior to Steve and Barbara marrying. I think she was a good little actress but we all have different views of things.
I'll take Dodie and Myrtle any day over the saccharine "Buffy" and her annoying Mrs Beasly or whatever her name was.
@@amyfitts2447 Yes, Ernie is quite unlikable in this episode.
@@65wiseman I had forgotten about Buffy. I loved Buffy in particular because I was young when Family Affair was on and I even had a Mrs. Beasley doll. 😊 But I respect your opinion cuz we all have different preferences. Definitely see the difference between Dodie and Buffy and can see why you liked her more than Buffy.
Hate a 7 year old for doing what her parents wanted to, and acted the way she was coached
Beverly Garland had plenty of experience for the boys by being in all those monster movies of the 50's. Dodi is another story.
Steven Douglas dressed as Little Lord Fauntleroy.
How is the mom being so casual about her child missing?
Because it was 1971, and the likelihood of her really being 'missing' would have been very low. We can't retro-judge those times in these times which of course are horrible.
It is the 1950s - 1960s. People trusted everybody and everything.
I love that: " I could spank you if Your life depended on it".
Ok to wander neighborhood but not cross streets!
It was a different time, and children were allowed to roam more than today's youth depending on the culture, economic upbringing and ethnic backgrounds.
It was a long time back!
It was a Different Aera Back then I Used to Walk by myself at 7yr to School and it was 1.5 miles from my House but still in my Neighborhood with House's all around we also Knew that when the Street Lights came on that ment you where Supposed to be in the House 🏠 🏡 or Yard or Driveway but some places on the Property no Cell Phone's back then and very few Microwaves in Homes Kid's actually went Trick or Treating like in the Charlie Brown Holloween 🤡👺👹🥸 TV Cartoon Special and had School Christmas 🎄⛄ Pagents and plays can't do any of that in Schools today.
@@gwb7875 I grew up in an age before you and my mother would only let me go to the end of the block at 7 years old. We went trick or treating too and you definitely had to be in the house before dark, or yes you would not be sitting down for a week.
I had to look it up, but Dodie is only 2 years older than I am and yes, I can remember wandering around quite a bit in my grandma’s town when I wasn’t much older than 6 or 7.
I remember the frightened reactions when my cousin and I mentioned we had gone to Freedom park instead of Liberty park. Which confused me because Freedom park was actually closer and did not require actually *crossing* a street like was needed to get to Liberty park. However, there wasn’t a sidewalk to get to Freedom park, so you had to walk along on the side of the street to get there. It was the main drag coming in to town and curved some on the way to Freedom park, but crossing that street at a designated crosswalk was not seen as problematic.
11 YEARS WOOF FÀAAAAAAAAAAAAA
I think they were too harsh om Ernie. How was he supposed to know where Dodie's friend lived? How far it was and the busy streets.
I meant Erine.
It’s a shame that Tim Considine never returned to the series for occasional guest spots. And for the series finale. I thought I read somewhere awhile back that he was asked to return and he declined or there was some kind scheduling conflict maybe a money dispute? Anyone know why he never returned? 🤔🤔
Yeah weird that Mike didn't come home for his brothers wedding
I always wondered what happened to the boy's biological mother..🤔
They never said. Ernie was an orphan and lived with foster parents until the husband got transferred to another country and Ernie came to live with the Douglases and then Steve adopted him.
@@janieg8287 Thanks for the update. 🌝
She died when Chip was very young (maybe2), and he doesn’t remember her.
Robbie and Mike do though.
Step parent in 60s very progressive
Folks help me out here, when did Beverly came onto the show and did Steve told the boys to call her MOM!!??
I'm not sure what season I'd have to look it up but Steve was dating and ended up meeting Barbara as she was a substitute teacher for Ernie. Ernie got in trouble about something so Steve had to go up to the school and that's when they met. There are several shows about their courtship and I can't remember if it shows their wedding or not. The boys liked her and were happy to have her as their new mother.
@@amyfitts2447 Season 10 Barbara comes into the picture season 11 chip gets his girl and 12 it's overm
@@amyfitts2447 Robbie didn't call Barbara mom.He called her by her 1st name.

How Come Barbara Didn't Spank Dodie In this Episode?
📺 ❤🎉😊😊😊
Season 11 ep 22.. yaaaawn..🥱.
Nerd Ernie is no way getting a date with a cool chick.
Boy Erin's can be a real jerk sometimes..
What a poorly written episode. Weren't we down this road before in "Dodie Goes Downtown" with Ernie in charge and Dodie wanders off and is punished? Okay, she can go to the market by herself (which I am sure is more than three streets away as the Douglas' home is in a suburb and the market looked to be in a city when she and her friend took a bus), but now she can't go three streets away to a friend's house? And Ernie is punished for not being a mindreader and know this rule that only Barbara knew. Steve didn't even know it and he's the father. And would Dodie disobey yet again when she was punished the first time she did that? The dream sequence was cringeworthy.
I agree with you. This was not a very good episode.
Nobody cares about Dodie.
Nobody cares about Myrtle either.🤮
I always took the spanking;it was over in a minute, and was better than being grounded for a week. You’d think Chip and Rob would have said something to Ernie before Dodie wandered off. What’s the point of making a child stay in their room if they’er allowed to play with their toys? 10:51-I would have spanked Jodie right there. 🤦🏼♂️Don’t tell her THAT Ernie;tell her “something came up”. What was the age difference between Kathleen and Douglas? I swear THEY could be father/daughter. What season did they get married, and Kathleen adopt the boys? Kathleen said “In those days,(meaning when SHE was a kid), we didn’t do much talking, just spanking”. I was around Dodi’s age when this aired;seemed like WE didn’t do much talking THEN either, just spanking, too.
Spanking isnot the answer. It just results in violent children.
Ernie was such a cute little kid. But, around 14 or so - forget it!
I totally agree!
The day Ernie hits the Jackpot (gets laid) I will win the Powerball.
Why would getting "laid" be the Powerball ?
That whole spanking thing seems borderline inappropriate.
Spanking is a former discipline.
Problem with the world today: not enough spankings!
