Unique Fonts In Our Print Shop Exhibit: Park Avenue

One of the most unique fonts that we have in our print shop exhibit is “Park Avenue.” The font was designed by R.E. Smith in 1933 for the American Type Founders. Around 1930, the ATF developed angle body sorts with slanted sides. You need special spacing material for these angle body fonts.
In this video, Howard explains the Park Avenue font, how it differs from standard body fonts, and prints an example.
