HEY GHOUL BOYS! I HAVE SOME SUGGESTIONS!
- Suggestions for more clinical/scientific investigating:
I believe the only way to truly determine that your reactions to locations (senses, feelings etc) and your "evidence" are really due to paranormal activity is to do some controlled testing.
I'm no scientist but here's my suggestion to have a more clinical approach to these paranormal investigations:
Have the crew take you to nine different locations and film in groups of three. Three of the locations will be supposedly haunted, seven will be regular old houses or forests or wherever. Shane, Ryan and the filming crew won't know which houses or locations are the haunted/paranormal ones. The person arranging all this can write made up histories/tragedies/theories about the non haunted locations and they can hire actors to be interviewed on camera telling about their "supernatural experiences" at the houses/locations and where they supposedly happened within the buildings/ locations. Having listened to the "history" of the locations and learning about where specific instances "happened" Ryan, Shane and the crew can set up filming and paranormal equipment in certain areas to see what evidence they can capture.
The staff could do:
Group A: Haunted, Not Haunted, Not Haunted.
Group B: NH, H, NH.
Group C: NH, NH, H.
Or... cruelly they could have all the haunted locations always be the first in the group lol. Have the crew do all the filming and editing etc and post. Ask fans in the comments to try to figure out which of the locations were actually paranormal and then a member of the crew will reveal which location was actually paranormal in the following Postmortem.
It'd be really funny to see if you'd freak out in a non paranormal regular location and it'd be interesting to see if you find evidence in those locations.
Lastly, you might consider bringing along a female on investigations that involve children ghosts. Perhaps a woman with a kind voice might be less intimidating theoretically to a kid ghost? I'd volunteer if you came to Ontario Canada.
Filming locations in Ontario Canada:
If you did come to Ontario Canada there's a few places you might like to check out such as the Old Kingston Penitentiary, Fort Henry, Bolt Castle etc.
Have y'all tried to play annoying music really loud throughout a building to see if you get a response??? I would be curious to find out and try different genres maybe from the time of the spirits.
Where is the next week's location?
Would you guys ever come to Toronto Ontario Canada
and explore the the mackenzie house?
It's apparently pretty haunted
When did Ryan get married?
I love how past Ryan was like "I'd be a nice ghost, I'd fold laundry for the people I haunt!" and now he's like "I'd lick my hands and slap people." Growth. We love to see it.
Hey, maybe he can be both, like a helpful but mischievous ghost 🤣. (Honestly I would 100% put up with a ghost that gives me a wet slap now and again but also folds my laundry hahaha)
A pandemic can do things to people😂🤣😅
Freshman vs Senior year
Well he changed his mind immediately after the first to GHOST COP.
I thought Ryan was wearing a werewolf costume. Didn’t realize that it’s just his hair.
love how during the "fire" incident Ryan went "oh shit there is a fire alarm!" and them circling the tiny fire alarm in the corner as if there isn't a huge fire extinguisher right there lmao
This was BS, I couldn't believe they left it in as evidence. Funny though.
@@Mockthenerd Anyone who's been in any college building will know it's harder to find a spot without a fire alarm and fire extinguisher within line of sight. Also weird that claims of there being fires but no evidence is being taken as anything but that, baseless claims. But, as you said, always fun to watch Ryan freak out.
@@SapientGalaxythere's evidence of the fires occurring - a large number of witness accounts, fire brigade call outs, etc.
The fires occurred. And honestly, you don't need supernatural goings on for them to burn themselves out with no damage, fire is weird. But yeah there's evidence for fires occurring, there's quite a few accounts, there's a local news report about them, etc.
I feel like Ryan is becoming more insane while Shane becomes more tame. The dynamics are turning.
Oh how the turned tables
Nighttime dan is possessing Ryan to turn the tables
So then what was that at 40:19 in the investigation? Since no one brought it up is it safe to assume that some crew member did that?
I went to the Boston live show and Ryan said that he felt like he had to be super serious all the time with BFU but with ghost files he feels like he can be more himself!
@@khoureyderderian ahhh I see, it's his Joker saga now. "Why so serious?" has a new layer.
The devastation in shanes voice when ryan says “who is this” when listening to the spirit box is so funny “wha- this is shane :(“
Shane’s absolute enthusiasm to fight a ghost is the funniest thing in the ep.
Also, knowing that Shane walked away after hearing “Devil” and then having a dawning realisation that it could be connected to “Devil Baby” is very much on brand.
The fact that Ryan was respectfully sitting there with his eyes closed.
The fact Ryan believes in ghosts is the icing on the cake.
So then what was that at 40:19 in the investigation? Since no one brought it up is it safe to assume that some crew member did that?
So then what was that at 40:19 in the investigation? Since no one brought it up is it safe to assume that some crew member did that?
The reason I love this show is how genuine the relationship between Ryan and Shane. They don't present it as this perfect, no-conflict friendship. They clearly get on each others nerves at times, often purposefully and that's what real, true friendship is like.
Trueee! This dynamic is hard to find. For others, it will definitely show if they get pissed off or become defensive when their beliefs are questioned or made fun of
didn’t another video have this exact same comment…… nonetheless I agree
I was gonna say, there's definitely some tension between them in this video. But that is what makes it real!
They definitely seemed to be ticking each other off in parts of the actual investigation.
and Shane was in Ryan's wedding! 🥰
Lizzie’s job sounds like what a stage manager does, and gives me those vibes as a fellow stage manager. Very chill and calm until you have to tell Shane to stop looking for bats in the dirtiest room he could possibly look for bats
So basically like a mother for adults.
I was just about to say the same thing! She’s their mom 😂
Sounds like Effie trinkets job in hunger games
Lizzie’s deadpan is seriously the best part of this debrief, it’s cracking me up. She would be SO funny as the sole sober person in too many spirits
We need an episode with Shane and his dad. The banter would be iconic.
Dad goes on a ghost hunt would be perfect!
his commentary like y’all really make a living off this? this entertains people? i would totally watch
I dunno, he sounds like a condescending skeptic... They're like condescending vegans, terrible. He might give good banter but I think he'll be too insufferable for Ryan to respond properly
@@Chi_Me for 1 episode I reckon it’ll be fine
Better yet, they each bring a parent/family member to one of the locations
Ryan: "i liked the investigation because we got some good evidence and had some good moments"
Shane: "i liked the investigation because the house was small and i got to go home early"
And he got to fight a ghost
If that ain't a damn mood
Shane fighting a ghost is exactly why he's quite firm that ghosts don't exist.
He's fought so many, the only ones left are stragglers.
I just love how chaotic this debrief is when Ryan's foot fell asleep and kept making noises while shane is just trying to get on with show
Lizzie is exactly the sort of person I'd love to see included in ghost shows. A believer, a skeptic, and a person who does not want to have anything to do with ghosts.
She is the Jordan schlansky of the Ghost files
for real, Lizzie should make an appearance as part of a 3 person investigation, she's a great middle ground dynamic.

Wow lizzy looks taller than shane, and shane is 6'3 😳
Don't read comments, and this will get lost, but #shaniacs #boogaras and #pragmalizts. I guess coolkids or cheekyones would fall into that.

Lizzie is definitely a Boogara. She freaked out about the device picking up a stick figure near her in St Ignatius and asks Ryan and Shane 'Where is it?' when she tries to move away. She's definitely not a cheek splitter/fence sitter. She's just a Boogara-in-denial. 🧐
I think all cheekies are really just Shaniacs/Boogara in denial: Either they're people who really want to believe and want ghosts to be real, but are sceptics at heart, or they're believers in denial because they so don't want ghosts to be real.
@@LenaBlak why would they not want ghosts to be real though. Would they rather die and be nothing?
@@yeemawheaver1387 would you rather die and have to be in limbo haunting one location, being neither alive nor truly dead, forever??
@@mayevie well you would literally be dead, but the way I see it is these ghosts who are stuck haunting haven't truly passed on into the afterlife and are stuck kind of in a place between life and death. That's not necessarily what would happen to everyone and even if it was I think I'd rather exist.
@@yeemawheaver1387 hm... i'd much prefer everything just end than to continue existing as a ghost. seems like it'd be extremely lonely. well, we can agree to disagree!

Nighttime Dan is my new favorite character in the ghost file universe- I hope he makes some more appearances 😂
nighttime dan is very close to dethroning apple tater for me
He was pretty clearly trying to hustle the boys into giving him money for information, the rascal!
@@squidthing his DJ career ain’t making his ghost rent, so he has a side hustle of pan handling from ghost hunters 😂
If I become a ghost before Ryan and Shane stop ghost hunting, I will go to famous haunted and historical places and shout things like "apple tater" "spaghetti" and "Nighttime Dan" constantly in the hopes that somebody picks it up.
I hope the venue adds him as a regular
I love the spirit-box fight! It is like watching Whose Line is it Anyway with Shane reacting to random prompts and turning them into a whole bit. My favourite moment so far in the series.
I want Shane’s dad to tag along to one of their investigations 😂

I was the one at the Minneapolis show who asked if they would ever teach Ryan what coincidence means! Holy Shit!!!! I am so honored to have made fun of Ryan enough that it was brought up in an episode! I love you guys!!!!

Shane's dad should guest star someday, I wanna see Ryan try to survive that dynamic 🤣
Oh, man, same. I'd also love more logic coming on to the show lmao.
it could be funny but there are some people that have had genuine experiences & blatantly calling anything bullshit simply bc you refuse to consider it is unproductive & diminishing. also assuming anyone who’s had an experience is mentally ill opens a whole other can of worms, especially when you call this type of thing “illogical.” not looking for an argument, just adding my opinion too.
@@thespankmyfrank if you're looking for logic on a show like this, you're watching the wrong show lol I don't say this to affirm your supposed skeptic pov, I say this to point out you're in the wrong genre entirely if you're looking for seriousness. yeah this show involves ghosts and ghost evidence, but it's not about proving anything or seriously looking

Can I just say that I love love that these episodes all have subtitles because it's so accessible and makes it so much easier for me and others to watch!!
Shane's brutal honesty in what is "evidence" and what isn't is amazing.
When I was watching the episode I was truly laughing at Ryan's reactions to completely random words said by a computer designed to say random words.
Say enough random words and a few of them will be relevant.
forget climbing mt everest or running a triathlon, shane making direct eye-contact with the camera and willfully ignoring ryan while he's shrieking and stomping his foot on the table when it fell asleep is the greatest test of strength and endurance i've ever seen

So then what was that at 40:19 in the investigation? Since no one brought it up is it safe to assume that some crew member did that?
@@nathanwatt8340 I mean that was Ryan's solo run so there shouldn't be crew in there. I was thinking it was probably too little of something to let it count as evidence.
@@nathanwatt8340 what was seen there?
@@nathanwatt8340 What are you talking about? I just looked at that timestamp, for the video this debrief is on, and it’s just silence during Ryan’s section.
@@lilyt.4895 There is a shadow in the window right in this time frame. It looks like a shadow through a window, so it could just be the crew but normally investigators point out stuff like that
For a future Q&A: it would be interesting to hear you explain more about how the Ovilus works. What factors can trigger words, and most importantly, what decides which different environmental factors trigger which words? Like who decided that a 1 degree increase in temperature could trigger it to say "blood", and that an electromagnetic reading could be "chalupa"?
Shane and his dad knowing ghosts aren’t real and raining on Ryan’s parade is hilarious
The most paranormal thing on this channel is both ryan's and shane's haircut changing rapidly from video to video.

I love how one constant among the crew when asked Shaniac vs. Boogara is “ummm no. I don’t really want to be associated with these two fools”
I really want to have a video where they just visit a not haunted place and try out the devices since Shane is usually sceptical about how they work. I find the flashlight for example very compelling so if he sees it not work in a not haunted location maybe he'll respect the methods more 😂
Okay but. How do you know the place you test it isn’t haunted?
Like. Exactly how many people do you think have died over the course of the entirety of history? What percentage of that becomes ghosts? What is the ratio of death to ghost? Are they bound to particular locations or would they all be chilling in the Bahamas right now?
These are all questions nobody has been able to definitively answer.
@@sorenkazaren4659 yea that's obviously a good point and I'm not saying that I know the place xD but you'll only get some ghost action when you go to a place that is a "Hotspot", so that's where active ghosts hang out. Places that don't have a lot of activity or none have no active ghosts I'd say? They still have ghosts but those don't interact I guess. I don't know xP
Also I think people with unfinished business are probably likely to become ghosts, that's how I explain haunted places
That's a good idea actually.
Oh man I would be so down to watch that, but it's absolutely not going to work the way a lot of comments are suggesting. There's not a square inch of this planet they can go where someone won't come into the comments saying "but what if it's actually haunted tho", and then it's up to the skeptic to prove that no one's ever died there.
Clearly this leaves us with only one viable solution. We send the ghoul boys to the moon.
I’ve always wondered, if you took a flashlight to a location you DON’T believe to be haunted as a control test, would it still light up? In theory, if it does not turn on and off randomly it makes any evidence you may catch in haunted locations more compelling. This also goes for all of your other equipment like the mag light and the stick figure camera and whatnot. Have you ever done control tests to establish a proper baseline?
Shane fighting the ghost has to be the funniest thing on the channel 😂
What about a ghost calling them Nerds? 😄

A couple things I learned from this debrief:
1. Shane and Ryan have found the most decisive evidence of the paranormal in history.
2. Their wives bully them.

Skeptics are so far up their own ass that they blame everything on coincidences lol.

Sometimes something is too coincidental to be a coincidence
So then what was that at 40:19 in the investigation? Since no one brought it up is it safe to assume that some crew member did that?
@@nathanwatt8340the person in the corner behind Ryan? Dunno. Maybe it was a crew member and that’s why they didn’t bring it up in this video
loving the fact that they just made the connection that their significant others both give them wet willies on camera and bonded over it
When I investigated the Sallie House with my college’s paranormal group we got a lot of medical terms. On my solo investigation the ovulus would say a couple things in the normal voice and then it would say spookier terms like “starve” or “stab” in that weird voice. Very scary!
We also asked about y’all and we got a response that they not only remembered you but also enjoyed your visit! I was bummed at the live show when Ryan was adamant he would never return because not only do I think you’d be welcomed but the basement has actually been closed off due to health and safety hazards (probs asbestos) so I think the investigation would go differently.
We opened the basement door and were immediately hit with a wall of bad energy but we kept it closed the entire investigation and actually felt no negative presence the entire time! We actually got responses telling us that they were afraid of the basement and that evil was down there. So it seems like the dark presence in the house has been trapped in the basement and the rest of the spirits can peacefully exist on the main floor and upstairs. Also, when we went to bed - my friend slept next to me, near the vent to the basement, and heard voices the entire night while I slept soundly next to her (not near the vent) and didn’t hear a thing.
I just want to say, the release schedule of these is one of the best I've ever seen for a show. Having 1 a week, and then with a follow-up to hold us over to next week gives that perfect Ghoul Boys heroine drip straight into the spooky veins
Shane not doing air-quotes when he said "evidence" feels like a fever dream.
He’s learning that there’s a possibility now instead of saying “no. It’s not”. Learning to be open minded is one of the main things on a checklist for ghost hunting lol
I'm shook tbh.
@@dropdeadjuno A very sweet thought, but I want to clarify that sometimes I just forget to do the airquotes. I fully do not believe there's any possibility of ghosts existing and think all the evidence is pseudoscience horseshit. Fun to walk around old buildings though! Thanks for watching!

As an Aussie Shanes accent from this and the emu war puppet history episode was actually pretty damn impressive!
For the Q&A, have you ever run into squatters,or another group of people exploring, or any instance of people being in that place when they weren't supposed to. same, she was really funny
Calm neutral chaos
So then what was that at 40:19 in the investigation? Since no one brought it up is it safe to assume that some crew member did that?
I'd noted that Shane's hair changes drastically in every episode so the sudden blonde hair in the prerecorded bit really sent me
I can't believe they didn't comment on the Ryan shadow. You guys need to do Debrief later than an hour after the episode aired. So many people live hours before you (Europe, Africa, Asia, Australia) and don't watch it like 8 or 9 hours after it airs.
I think you guys should spend a whole week in these places. As activity is known to increase the longer you stay somewhere you’re more likely to meet some of your housemates.
How does Lizzie seem uninterested but stay charming at the same time? 😂
@James it seems like it could be a good attitude to have as a production coordinator.
She’s funny but in a chill way, I admire it.
I'm never gonna stop laughing at the fact that some of the most compelling evidence I've seen was Shane fist fighting a ghost. Like ofc it is
9:10 hahaha being in the audience and listening to everyone roar with laughter was beautiful at that moment. Shane stood up and saluted the audience member who asked it (this was in Minneapolis).
28:06 “getting the notes app apology out of the way” subtlest ned shade ive seen this whole time
Shane has literally got in a fist fight with a ghost and he’s still a skeptic. Love it. #shaniac
I agree cowards isn't the best name, not because it is mean, but because there are so many people in-between for different reasons. Like Lizzie (sorry if spelt wrong) who doesn't want to know, and even me who probably doesn't believe but I suspend my disbelief because I really want to believe in supernatural and paranormal stuff to make life more interesting. Either way, I'm very happy you brought back this series to Watcher! The original series is how I even found you guys. I hope Ryan is able to get his evidence one day!
The Hopefuls- people who want to believe but don't
The Avoiders- people who believe but don't want to
The Lizards- people who don't believe but get freaked out by normal things (diseased animals, debris, random people hiding in the building) and have their brains hijacked by their amygdalas (lizard brains) making them think there's possibility a ghost could kill them. Can't think rationally when your frontal lobe is taking a fucking nap. Great survival mechanism, but also dumb as fuck.
@@cmc8845 I like these, especially The Hopefuls. Well done!
That all sounds like coward-talk, to me. 😂
Honestly, yeah, we probably do need a better name. The issue is that, like you mentioned, there is a very, very wide spectrum between the two extremes with a ton of different places for each of us to land, and so coming up with one title is not at all easy. That’s actually the reason why I’m not totally opposed to Cowards, actually. It’s clearly tongue and cheek and doesn’t actually really apply to almost anyone on that spectrum, so it’s clearly just for fun. I think only a humorous title actually works to classify such a wide range of diverse people and opinions.
for me it's sorta like I've experienced and seen things but I know how the human brain can create false stuff sometimes so I will stay in the middle unless there's scientific proof of ghosts being real
Yeah, it would be interesting to bring more terms in lol. Because while I say I'm a Boogara, I dont actually think ghosts are what Ryan thinks they are. I think it's more energy than entity, and words and figures are more manifestations of memory powered by energy. Idk, just trying to make it make sense in my head I guess. I might be completely wrong lol
So nice to see that there are more fans from Estonia!
Ghost Files is truly awesome and it would be so cool if you could do this show at different countries too
I hope this series lasts forever and when you both pass into the spirit world you'll continue to make this series as ghouls
Love the callback to Unsolved and Ryan failing to understand how hair and skulls work 😂
I do kinda want them to take Steven on a ghost hunt just to see how chaotic he'd be
These are the most serious and knowledgeable questions I’ve ever heard from people, and I love it lol so informative! Things many of us wanted to know I assume
