Toss the gas cap and get a billet one off Ebay for the 'Clarke billet gas cap'. The cap WILL fall apart. It cracks and splits. Common problem with the Clarke caps. I even ordered and paid extra for a green colored one, and it lasted about 1 winter and started cracking, then finally split and fell apart this spring, ironically, I drain the tanks when they sit for a couple Months.
P.S. McNasty, you talk funny.... LOL!

They kinda got the attitude that if we don't like it, don't buy it. And Clarke is the only manufacturer that makes a new tank for the B1/B2. IMS didn't want to reproduce them. To low of numbers.

I placed my order and then they never shipped it for two weeks finally I said something and I got it within three days with the blemish for that kind of money there shouldn’t be any blemish

How can they even sell it like that? I would be embarrassed to put my company name on that thing.

It seems like they sell enough tanks to fix the problem. How hard can it be? Or at least sell these as having a defect. They must not realize Tecates are being restored and people care about looks, not just something that holds gas.
