@@The_Primary_Axiom are you on pc? Believe it or not, a lot of the weird errors can happen from Bluetooth connection. I always play with my controller plugged in
@@humannt3374 It’s not dirty it was even a brand new controller. However I noticed when I plug it in through the usb wire it never does it. It only drift randomly when it’s wireless. It never randomly drifts when it’s plugged into the USB cable. Very weird glitch ps5 has.
I opened mine up and all the potentiometer was worn away plus the metal clip that made contact was broken off inside and you could see the trench it was making. @Sony fix this POS

This system, the ps5, is the first system where I’ve had issues. Hard drive nonsense, and now the controllers. Even my switch hasn’t had any controller issues.

For you who don’t know how stick drift happens, it happens because the joystick uses a sort of rubbing technique to sense and what happens when you rub , friction and over time it destroy the sensors creating stick drift
@@fantapro23 Yeah maybe but they're built to be handled like that, however they're not meant to be handling pizza grease and food crumbs that leak into the joysticks.... I wouldn't even doubt it for a second that most gamers eat while playing.

Nice! I stepped on my kids' PS5 controller like 4 months ago and just dealt with the stick drift. Then this guy says, "Poke the hole under here" to fix it. lol I paper clip poke the hole and voila! No stick drift! Thank you sir for reading the controller manual.
Stick drift is due to the wearing off of the potentiometer disc inside the analog stick module. The only way to fix this is to replace the potentiometer disc, or replace the whole analog stick module. But movements may or may not be 100% accurate due to the x and y axis calibration embedded within the ROM chip of the controller not aligning with the new analog module/potentiometer disc.
@@Marwan887 I think nothing helps, you have to replace your controller. I tried everything like disassembling the controller and cleaning the tiny metal part of the stick. The drift was gone for 2 days and came back even harder.

no a reset button will not fix it updating does not work you need too open the controller that means dust is inside watch a real repair videos did not work
The pin in the back immediately fixed my controller I think it was some calibration problem because it started out of no where and the second I did the pin it’s now fine
so if your doing a factory reset in the ps5 pad (I’m guessing it’s a factory reset) makesure everything is completely off cuz I had problems when I didn’t on ps4 controllers

Hey looking for someone to help me out, my controller has been jittering(for the lack of a better term) where when I press my left stick to the right, it doesn’t go all the way to the dead zone and jumps values. In game the result is that it seems to want to fight me when I walk right. It does nothing when I move left and does nothing when I’m not touching my controller. There seems to be no information about this problem and people only post about stick drift.
This is complete bs xD stick drift has to do with the STICK. There's a problem with the stick, potentiometers or the ball inside the potentiometer. These components are broken or dirty. That is 100 procent what stick drift is about nothing what this guy says makes any sense. Do you have problems with your car tire? Start by restarting the engine and that might be enough to fix the issue.
If you have a PS4 controller, you can use Remote Play and connect it to your PC. Don't keep buying PS5 controllers like I did. They'll all get drift and you'll feel like a chump. I'm guessing Sony does this on purpose to make more money.

It all has to do with the Potentiometer that controller the analog joystick, which needs to be cleaned or replaced by opening up the controller.

Using the hidden button requires you hold your controller in the position you play it as. No one ever mentions that.
