Says that lady with a leather skin and animal fat stuffed in her lips
If you think you are invisible just get a cute dog and EVERYBODY will stop you on the street to talk to you.
This is true, but at times I feel I am now a 'dog mum' and less interesting than himđ
đ
Black and a great haircut does it for me.
I'm a petite, busty, hourglass. I find that wearing 2 colors (top/bottom) makes me appear shorter. I try to wear similar shades on top and bottom. Not appearing so short is more important to me than looking like the current trend.đ€·ââïž. I add color to the outfit with luxurious scarves. Even if I'm wearing jeans & a T-shirt, I've usually added a silk, linen, or fine wool scarf. Just love them. đ€©
Iâm only 5 ft tall and I wear a lot of monochromatic outfits too.
Tip for glasses wearers: Select your frames from the sunglasses' frames. They're much more stylish!
love that
I've been doing that for the past few years! They're so much cooler.đ
I've noticed that too đ
They will let you do that at the optometrist? Awesome idea! đź
@dutchgirl7947 YES. Been doing this for around 10 years now.
Iâm 45 and maybe black is making me look older but I donât really care because I love this colour as my favourite band is Depeche Mode. Love your videosâ€
Omg my favorite band was also Depeche Mode. For decades. Since I was a teenager. Iâm 52.
â@@evarkf5303Me too, and black just looks best on me.
I agree. I have short blonde hair and fair skin, and black is a good contrast on me, as well as being slimming. My go to look is black top, colored or pattern bottom.
@magalufff đ”Black Celebration đ¶
@@evarkf5303 Mine too; they write sophisticated pop songs and are so cool, glamorous even.
Navy blue suits me perfectly. Black is harsh on my skin tone
Navy is my black too
â@@annalynn9325I love both. Black suits my hair color and skin tone.
Same here. I mostly wear Autumn colors. Navy works well with my color palette.
I love a beautiful midnight navy color. Itâs navy with some black in it. It works much better for me than the lighter navyâs.
Same; always seeking out navy. I love black but rarely wear as it as itâs not good on me.
I love wearing black it makes you always look more elegant.
Mich macht es alt und hart...đź
A friend recently sent me this quote. âThe relationship between me and black clothes is a love story that canât be explained.â. Iâm a 75 year old with white hair, pale skin and blue eyes and I look great in black so itâs what Iâm going to wear. Thank you for a wonderful video.
â€đ
I've given up wearing black because I have 3 cats and a dog!
@@jeannehunter5344â€. I have lint rollers everywhere đâ€
Thank you for highlighting the tiny nuances that make us look older than the younger gals. đ·The old fashion rules donât work anymore.
Wearing colors that really make my complexion glow is a game changer for me.
I have added a lot more navy blue and gray to my wardrobe. I think it agrees better with my skin color.
Itâs super hot here today, wearing white wide leg jeans (wouldnât be able to wear slim jeans in this heat) with a slim square neck cotton tank, both from Chicos, looks super pulled together, along with a pair of low heeled sandals and a white handbag. The key with wide leg jeans is wearing the more fitted top that isnât too long!
Sounds great!
Such an awesome video. I just turned 64 and revamping my colors and style. I refuse to dress OLD. Yes, do a color video đ€đ
Great idea!!
Yes please. A video on exfoliating and moisturizing.
@connielemle1579 Advanced Clinicals Retinol firming cream works wonders if you're keen. It makes my body look good. I was surprised (I must say).
Thank you for showing slim people like me. I am short and petite and recently found out I look well in V neck and Square necked clothing. I was always covering my slim long neck. Sometimes what we think are faults can be disguised by a different type of fashion. I love quality clothing of natural material. Oversized clothing is not flattering to me. I am 74 and still in better shape than my younger friends. Aging gracefully and still a Lady. We can experiment, finding what suits us at every age.
I wish I had a long, slim neck! I love scarves and jackets with biggish collars, but my neck is far too short.
Lots of good points! For a bra, I would add that the positioning of the breasts is critical!! By this I mean how far up or down on the chest the breasts sit. The most flattering and youthful is to make sure the bra positions your breasts halfway between your elbow and your shoulder (but no higher or it can look like you're trying too hard to be sexy/youthful). As we age the breasts droop and this of course gives an older appearance. When the breasts are lifted to the correct position it automatically creates a younger appearance.
Iâm in my late 60s, donât really want to look any slimmer, but I love wearing black (yes, even close to my face) *because* it makes my hair look more grey. Itâs a striking contrast that makes me love my grey hair! I always add some elements that make the outfit look intentional, not lazy (or âinvisibleâ). I do wear colors, but nothing feels quite as chic as a black outfit.
I'm a gray-haired 52 y.o. woman. I sometimes wear Black (it's sĂł elegant) but never too close to my face. I find pearls beautiful acessories, they fit perfecrly to black. And, finally, delicate make-up and Red lipstick. Sorry for my not-so-perfect English, I'm from Brazil.
Iâm a designer and my whole wardrobe has always been neutral and lots of black. But with age and going cool blondâŠnavy is a wonderful addition â€ïžâš alsoâŠwith black or navy, love an open collared shirt or v neckđâš
Same
I love black! I know it might older me but I can't stop wear it. Amazing video Frederique
As a lover of black I find itâs now too harsh & am moving over to the blue palette. When I do wear black, I wear my red glasses & do a finger dab of red lipstick. đ
I find black and red very harsh, even harsher than black and white, neither are for me
I have worn black for decades and trying to bring in some navy, but it's not easy. Black is hard habit to break.
If you love it, and it looks great on you, makes you feel pretty, why not wear it?
â@@Tinsx3r9When you reach a certain age, what used to look great, doesn't! Black really suited me when I had dark brown hair, light olive skin and darke brown eyes. My hair is now really grey and even my hair and eyes have faded, so the black and jewel tones that once complemented me overwhelm me. However, I still don't look good in pastels. Navy never has and never will look good with my skin tone, although it now looks beautiful against my silver hair. Right now, I look okay in sheer or faded black, denim blue, white but not optic white. It's really something we have to juggle and fashion advice tends to say really untrue things (either that the same colours always suit you or that grey hair and faded colouring just transform a Winter into a Summer - not in my experience). Some people also have warmer skin tones as they age. A lot of us would really appreciate solid advice from someone who has really made a thorough study of ageing beauty and not tossed us off because we were, indeed, invisible.
@Frédérique, yes, black is bad and pastels are worse (for erstwhile brunettes, anyway). Your are also a natural brunette and your new hair colour is fabulous and makes you look really young! I would love an in-depth video on colours for women in their 50s, 60s and 70s. Some of us had it all figured out, only for everything to change! Au secours, ma belle !
â@@Tinsx3r9it's that things that looked good on us when we were younger w/ stronger eyebrows, fuller lips, fewer wrinkles, more full hair etc, don't complement us in the same way as we age.
Some designers do a more sophisticated navy than others - sometimes called âmidnightâ which can be so flattering (sadly, usually the more expensive designers).
@@sarahterry2140 I've noticed that! I do have a few "midnight" pieces now. The earlier navys were so random and never came close to matching.
My goodness, you have the best suggestions!
You mentioned hats, please do a video on types of hats and how to wear them.
I love to see a woman in a hat.
Thank you for sharing with us.
Yes, I would love a video on hats, too! Actually, I finally had the Courage and started wearing Fedoras and other hats last year, and they earn me compliments (by women!) regularly. So, ladies who consider wearing hats: please be bold and do so! Itâs fun, and with the right hat you will feel like the queen you are ;)
@@simonew949 I know, even a hat makes jeans look elevated.
Let's go ladies, make an old trend new again â€ïž
Iâve been following this lady since the beginning and let me tell you she looks better now than few years back. So she is definitely doing something right â€
Vids have come a long way in the last three years. Better lighting, cameras, sound, etc. Donât feel bad about yourself in comparison. It could be all of these things for her.
I will always match my bag and shoe colour. I love 1940s 50s and 60s chic and glamour đ
I bet that will come back in style soon.
On the most part, I do as well as enjoy 'the hunt'. đ
I always did until about 10 years ago but I have crept back into coordination again đ
I love your new look and all the accessories. The hewelry and glasses. And earrings and nails. Perfect!!
Thank you so much!!
I love black and it is still making me look slimmer and more sexy and I'm way over 45:) I only add one other accent colour , it might be a blue or red scarf, or natural learher sandals , but all the rest is black. and gold jewllery. Gold looks brilliant with black. I am also doing navy , it's a great colour , so elegant.
Wear what looks good on you instead of following trends. I have always liked a more classic style & at 60, it hasn't failed me yet.
I love how fun and knowledgeable you are! Thank you for all of this helpful information on style for us older gals!
I love black! I feel secure, safe and confidant wearing black!! nice i found you and your channel!
You look like Sophia Loren! Wow!
Hi Fredrique Iâm 64, I grew out my dyed hair so Iâm now đŻ my natural silver colour. Also Iâve recently lost 29 kilos (approx 64 pounds) I was a plus size 16-18 and Iâm now a regular size 8-10. Iâm currently curating a whole new wardrobe. I love all black, linen, cotton, and I donât mind rayon coz itâs soft. Pre-weight loss I wore oversized clothes but now I want to wear more tailored clothes. Iâm binging your videos to get ideas.
congrats on your weight loss, you must feel so much better xx
Well done how did you lose the weight?
I love wearing black in the fall and winter, even though it is not in my spring color palette. My favorite ways to wear black are black lace tops, dresses, and skirts. Or black and white houndstooth skirts. Adding a pop of red somewhere, like red shoes, red nails, etc also helps brighten up a black outfit.
I always look forward to watching your videos, you are such a breath of fresh air đ
Oh thank you!
Thoroughly enjoyed this. We are all going to look fabulous. đ
Yes we do
Nada Marley, a great stylist I recommend, said, "Be less hesitant about dressing young than dressing old", old clothes age us! I'm 58 and steer well clear of top-to-top classic/ladylike outfits, I always mix and match, e.g. great jeans with a tweed jacket with frayed hems. Even gold buttons look too old and ladylike on me. I invest in quirky unusual scarves - not Hermes-type, they are way too classic and stuffy imo. For example I have a lovely Gucci necktie with a vintage Mickey Mouse design that's very cool and is nothing like what you would buy at Disneyland. It doesn't have to be expensive - I bought simple bandanas for just 99p in all colours, I wear a lot of monochrome/neutrals and adding a little bandana can really brighten up an outfit and make you look current and young(er)
Black around my face definitely doesn't do me any favours now but I still love it. I already do as you advised and have black jeans, shoes and bag that satisfies my passion for black. Thank you for sharing these great tips.
Love love love your beautiful personality!!! â€
I stopped wearing black years ago, I prefer navy. Works better for me. I obviously have a few black items but prefer navy if I want to wear dark colours. In general I prefer colours.
Seamless undergarments are the best, they can be worn by all of us and give our clothing smooth lines. Thank you for mentioning sunscreen. The sun damage we accumulated when we sunbathed in our teens, twenties show up in our 70s or earlier. I know my days in the sun caused damage. We didn't know better in the 1960s. Please do a video on skin care.
I love wearing black it suites my figure well as a slim pear shape †also navy blue is a great color! I do wear black cashmere sweaters with my leopard midi skirt looks cute paired with black kitten heels or knee high books in the fall! Thank you for your observation and tips â€â€
Thank you for the video, great tips. Most of all, I love that you have personality unlike so many other YT fashion influencers, who sometimes lack brains or their own REAL opinions. I want to ask about your HAIR, which looks GORGEOUS on you and very glam. Can you do a video on your hairdo? I find that some more mature women cut their hair short but end up looking old for that very reason. NOT YOU !!! Your hair is great. gives us courage to wear short hair without feeling invisible. Please make a video about your new hairdo. Many thanks!
great idea thanks
Being invisible is a superpower. We see you although you donât see us. It gives one a whole new relationship to the world. I relish it.
Great video with so many useful tips...again!!! Thank you!!!
You are so welcome!
Thank you for talking about the style of glasses! đ
Great video...again. Thanks. Agree about older people not wearing top to toe pastels or black. I do wear a black cashmere twinset in winter, but always wear a silk scarf (in the same colour as my skirt/trousers) in a brighter colour.
I love your fashion advice ⊠and yes to the body exfoliating and moisturising â€â€
I may not have a lot of clothes; but I Do sure have exceptional pieces that stands out and
always in style. I do believe you should purchase fresh white blouses every summer to compliment your summer wardrobe. đđ»
Thanks for sharing!!
Clothes last for years especially if they are only worn in a season. I cannot imagine myself buying new things every year. Well, unless I was wealthy and wasteful.
30 years ago a woke up to go to work and all I had was black clothes. Depressing. That day forward I got rid of my black clothes and added color. I still have black pants and jackets. My wardrobe makes me happy. Hate caca brown, beige, grey. I was advised to wear winter colors that are sharp and vibrant.
I agree with you: absolutely no matching jewelry sets! But to call it a fashion faux pas to match the color of your shoes and handbag or maybe your belt sounds rather harsh.
The opposite: it's not really stylish to mix accessories in different colors. It looks like you simple take something out of you closet without any consideration and then call it "casual"...If matching colors means old-fashioned and old-aged - so be it! I call it harmony.
I have noticed that black is looking more harsh on me, so Iâve moved toward softer blacks (sheer black). Iâve been moving black away from my face even though it looks beautiful with my red hair. Natural fabrics are the best! I donât mind ironing them because it drapes so much better.
Wonderful advice! Spot on with your observations! Appreciate the honesty!â€
You are so welcomeâ€
A video on body care would be appreciated we are going into winter in Australia and it seems my skin has turned flaky overnight. I dry brush 2-3 times a week but have read that this isnât something to do too regular as it damages the skin. I was wondering about a glycolic acid face scrub/cleanser on my arms and legs ?
At the moment I use a home mix of lanolin and castor oil to moisturise and occasionally an oil like jojoba or baby oil
I am in my 60âs with fair skin
Love your hair this way and the large glasses. Yes, You look younger!
I've transitioned to navy blue over the last ten years - I have black trousers/shoes/bags, but I find that navy is just better for me at my age. I also wear a lot of beige as I have a sallow skin tone and it warms me up.
Thank you! Love waotching your videos!
So glad!
Thanks for the Vivaia shoe suggestions! I just ordered my third pair!
Have fun!
I once saw a film with a very famous 'older' French actress (sorry, can't remember names) BUT, she wore a lot of black and then sometimes cream and the difference was astonishing. She looked utterly beautiful in cream and ghastly in black.
You make a great point about black around the face. In your examples, it shows how people look like they are a floating head! I never recognized that before
Thank you for a very giving tutorial. I am 44 and I feel more me, attractive and happier now. I instinctively started to incorporate some of your advice.
Great tips.
I love wearing black. When I wear all black i will do a bright lip or a chunky silver choker or bracelet to draw the eye away . Mix it with white or a gray occasionally even animal prints. Not giving up my black no matter what. Like they say once you go black you can't go back lol....
Hello! I'm a 42 years old brazilian woman and I have a native american phenotype. I was wondering if you could make a video showing us how to polish and style our look without looking that we are on costumes. Thank you!đ
Thanks for the idea!
Really helpful and fun presentation! loved all the tips on glasses and accessories-thank you! love suexxx
Great points. I am doing good, and lately even getting better. Sometimes, when we have still great bodies, we get kind of little bit stuckâŠ. Well I can still wear cropped tops, more body skimming dress, but I got to realization, that I donât want that anymore⊠I prefer style, interesting more artistic details, uniqueness, fashion.. I still wear some black. All my LBD not going anywhere đ€Șđ lol but I do wear with minimum makeup, especially complexion products, and glowy skin bronzed or pink blush. Brightening complexion and eyes , smokey eye, or bright lipstick red or coral,⊠it depends of season. Also gold accessories, or some peal jewelry or choker⊠and since I am blond , itâs already helps as well⊠Have a blessed day đâ€ïž
Iâm 58 & petite, canât wear black as it drowns me.. love navy & love pastels đ€đ©”đ©·
Iâm a big fan of your haircut. You are amazing â€
I wear black and I am 67 and always red lips
What a wonderful helpful video, thanks for so many tips â€
You are so welcome!
I love black. Itâs classic and neutral. However, there are very few women who can wear black (itâs in their color season) and pull it off and look natural. I wish companies would make tops that are black but also have options of navy and brown for those of us who need a different dark neutral.
Love this advice đ
I enjoyed that so much, really good observations âïžđ
Glad you enjoyed it
I love these videos! And the audio is so goo these days thank you so much!
Glad you like them!
I am big and tall. Oversized does not look frumpy on me.
I always enjoy your videos, no matter what the topic, so thank you! Have you ever considered covering more about where you live, without getting too personal. What is it like living in Bali? Local cuisine, shopping, going out, diving, etc. Of course you have to keep part of your life to yourself, but I think expat life is interesting. I'm an expat myself, and people are often curious about my perspective on the countries I live in. Just an idea. :-). But as I say, I thoroughly enjoy all the topics you cover in your videos. Merci!
I know nothing about Bali so would love to see why people like it. Even going to a restaurant or market to see the food would be fine.
I made a video about my life in Bali and didnât do well plus CZcams push only my videos about styling - follow me on Instagram I post daily story about my life @msfrederique
I'm turning to navy more and more!
Black is my favorite. Many have told me I look very nice in black. I also like white. Next is a baby pink. Navy blue is another favorite. Camel doesn't work as well next to my face, but I love camel purses, belts, and shoes! Grey is my favorite for winter coats. Dark grey to lighter grey, short to long trench coats. All fabulous. Pastels work well on me because of my hair and eye color. But I also like the jewel colors for winter like ruby or burgundy red, emerald green, sapphire blue.
I NEVER wear black!!! Just love colour. đ
Thanks for a fun video đ
Thank you too
Love your new hair! Looks great!
Thank you so much đ
Great advice!
Glad you think so!
I mostly buy my clothes secondhand. But if I do buy new I buy from Muji. Affordable, classically beautiful, and hold up well. Grey is my go-to colour; prussian blue grey, taupe grey, varying shades of grey green, silver grey, etc.
I love my black dresses (I'm a winter type so black & white is my thing... never mind the age). I freshen things up with a HermĂšs scarf - et voilĂ đ
I love black! I am over 45 and I always feel like black is a classic color, well that and navy.Black appears cleaner even if it's not. Plus I have an outdoor lifestyle so its really great as a transitional color from outside to having to go to an office for example. Plus I enjoy being in the " background", or unnoticed. however if I feel daring I can always add a pop of color. Black always makes me feel the most confident.
Frédérique, you look great with your hair style and hair color. You keep looking younger and younger.??????
hahaha no I don't, but I'm very happy with my new like in Bali :)
Indeed, love the haircut - chic.
I chose ivory as my neutral. I live in south Florida and don't care for the look of too much black in the wardrobe. I do have a few pieces, but I have way more winter white or even brown as my neutrals.
I pretty much live in black and white. Lately some red or yellow accents. Black is so easy to take care of, and white I can bleach. Itâs practical for my life and looks so fresh. â€ïžBtwâŠ.I have same clear glasses you do. Great taste! đ
I do the same . I feel so elegant đ
excellent!
Thank you! Cheers!
I love your nail color!
navy :)
What about ladies with gray or white hair? Do you have advice or recommendations for colors in clothing and makeup? Best hairstyles? Thank you for your video.â„ïž
Great suggestion!
Do colors! Getting my color pallet done by a professional changed the way I look and the way others saw me. I got more compliments, but my skin tone and hair color is changing, so I need to update.
Black looks really good on me as a Deep Winter; I will always wear black close to my face. I think it really depends on your coloring and undertones.
NICE
Thanks
Please create more self care videos like you used to. Thanks
Sure đ

Thx.! đ€ "Federique". đ
Such a lovely video....lots of love from India â€
You are so kind
Regarding wearing black: maybe have your colors done and pick your -near black- dark neutral (dark cool navy and charcoal are mine) makes a lot of difference!
Frederique âŠI just loved this video. Great advice. Your hair looks great. Yes I would love to see how you care for your skin on your body . What type of faux tan do you recommend? Also advice on shoes that coordinate with certain cuts of pants Blessings beautiful lady đđ»
Noted!
I went to a stylist earlier this year, actually- and know I am a 'cool neutral summer'. till working out exactly what that means (Yes, we talked about it and I have info about it LOL most of the colours are ones I gravitate to automatically. I wear very little black. One, I dont particularly like it on me, but also... I live with 7 white dogs. LOL
I look good in pastel colors but itâs hard to find pastels that arenât frumpy in cut. Tibi is the only one I know that does pastels in more cool, modern cuts that I need as I get older. Does anyone know other designers that do non-frumpy pastels?
