It strikes me that (especially) the symphonic metal scene chooses such deep (illuminating) subjects as the theme for their songs. Much more than ordinary pop groups. And that, together with the appropriate framing, is exactly what attracts me in their genre.

At that time I paid 75 euro for 2 tickets for this concert, it was a birthday present for my youngest daughter. We went together and had a magical night in Rotterdam Ahoy!

Sharon is sweet and so nice. Been to a signing session and she's really an angel (they have a song called "Angels" btw), chatting and laughing. They all are really nice and friendly.
The guys she was putting her head on is her Partner and they have 3 kids. She is from the Netherlands.
Great reaction. The dvd of this concert made me a fan of WT. Went to every concert after this one. Wish i knew about this one. They usually don’t perform with a live orchestra. She had a cold right before this concert. Her voice was a little more rough. Sharon told that it gave something extra to her voice. She is an amazing singer and performer. The whole band is great. Their next concert is together with Evanescence. Thank you for this reaction.

Great vids! Nightwish and WT - I'm feeling spoiled! WT write ear-worms that stick with you for a long time after! Nightwish European tickets are about 57 Euros. Pricing depends on the band and the venue. Robert loves his "pogo" dancing! Sharon has a range of 2.7 octaves from low 3rd octave almost to 6th. Some of her notes only dogs and bats can hear! Been performing since she was 14! She has lived in at least ten different countries, including Indonesia, where she lived between ages one and six. Her "trademark" hand movements are variations of the traditional Indonesian candle-dance!
"The Promise" from this concert or Rock Werchter 2002 is a real banger. Java Island (Silent Force Tour) and Elements are really good concerts too, and she's not sick so the voice is a bit more powerful. Not 1080p but good audio on YT.

I was at this concert, I have no memory of what I paid for it, I just remember it was amazing. Pure symphonic metal, they were my absolute favourite band for a long time. That number one spot has now been taken by nightwish, since WT have been making a little different style the last years (still really good but im just a sucker for this epicness). Sharon makes her own dresses 👍

Well unfortunately they don't always play with orchestra, it would be hard to organize ;) They played 2 shows with orchestra and choir, Black Symphony in 2008 and Elements in 2012 - both worth watching :)

If you want true fairytale:in perfect harmony.it is the last song of the mother earth album. If you look for an emotional song:our farewell. Sharon has a fairy voice.
The song 'grace' is also very good, she sings very high there.

Just understand the fact that her tone never varies while she is jumping up and down. That is next to impossible but not for Sharon! :)
I have only been to concerts here in LA and I have been fortunate that they are at smaller venues so not as expensive but they have been awesome. Hopefully they get more popular to have bigger arenas but for now I will take advantage of the smaller venues. It seems that in Europe is where the bigger event type concerts are idk if it's just for when they film live concerts but hopefully one day I can see one in Europe.
Nope they play concerts like this all the time and in UK. Fill out arenas and stadiums. Never seen WT but saw Nightwish a few years back in Wembley. Amazing!!! For a band like this to travel across countries what's the point in a) if you don't have a massive fanbase. B) You then pack out a few arenas to make it worth it. Only paid £25 a head to see Nightwish at Wembley. You can get tickets for these type of concerts between about £25-£100ish. Paid £60 Dolly Parton in Cardiff Arena with my mum. Good and packed but I only know really hard rock and metal and Sarah brightman type peeps go all out with tricks and effects etc.
I personally prefer Other WT Shows. This with the Orchestra was Epic yes, but unfortunately Sharon was sick this Weekend :-( so on Other Live Shows her voice glows even more :-).
Her range is from B3 to C6. :)
The bald guitarist with the small beard is her husband and one of the founders of the band. Nowadays he stays at home with their kids.
