Black Symphony is a live album, DVD and Blu-ray Disc from Dutch symphonic metal band Within Temptation. It was released worldwide on September 22-24, 2008 and is available on 2-disc DVD, 2-disc CD, and Blu-ray.
This special concert features the band accompanied by The Metropole Orchestra, the Pa'dam Choir, and special guests including George Oosthoek (ex-Orphanage), Anneke van Giersbergen of Agua de Annique and Keith Caputo of Life of Agony. It was filmed by 14 HD cameras on February 7, 2008 at the Ahoy Arena in Rotterdam. The album was certified Gold in the Netherlands.

Sharon confessed that at that concert she was sick and They almost canceled the recital but she managed to give us this beautiful gift. She is very simple and friendly in person 💜💜
I love Within Temptation, and having met them, I can say that the whole band, not just Sharon, are so sweet and cool. When I met them after a show, Sharon asked my friend and I if we were thirsty and gave us a bottle of water each. It was so kind of her. I will never forget that experience, and it's one of the experiences I hold near and dear to my heart.
Sharon is probably among the sweetest and nicest people to ever walk this planet. She is such a pure soul its glorious to watch.
She's very nice and friendly. Met her and the band at a signing session a few years ago here in France and she has always something to say, to share and always says yes for a photo or a selfie with her. She's also very funny and loves to joke and laugh. Great band with great personalities!
I met Sharon and Robert briefly, before their show in Louisville, KY in 2007. They walked up to the line of people waiting to get in, and started talking to us. Both of them seemed genuinely nice.
I had the pleasure of meeting WT after a show in LA, what a great group of folks and Sharon was so kind and gracious. One of my favorite bands of all time! I wish more people would be exposed to their music in the USA.

The symphony orchestra is great... I wonder what if feels like to the musicians in the orchestra that are used to playing in formal concert halls, etc - to be out on stage in a rock arena - with thousands of fans chanting and rocking out- so much more fun!

Thank you guys! Very much! I just discovered you on CZcams. And I love what I’m seeing. I’ve been in Music for years my sons both turned me on to symphonic metal. My favorite is within temptation followed by Nightwish. Thank you both for sharing songs by both groups especially love your reaction to the promise, and deceiver of fools by within temptation.
