- My daughter's first time hearing her dad's guilty pleasure music. Bay City Rollers, I Only Want To Be With You is a favorite of mine from way back! You have to check them out. Feel good tunes from the 70's that everyone should give a listen to. If you like the music, hit the Like button!

I'm not ashamed to say that I LOVE this song as well! This one and "Money Honey"
By the way ROLLERMANIA was HUGE back then!
I was 11 . They had a show on tv, i watched every one of them after scool. Lved them
I was also 11 and watched the show.
Shang a Lang it was called
Bay City Rollers are awesome! Listen to ALL their music from early 70's into the 2000's - they've had great music together and also in their solo careers. Glad you are sharing this with the world! And Eric's guitar - I actually got to hold it when I went to Scotland and met him. Love them!
I grew up with BAY CITY ROLLERS ... I THINK I WAS 10 .. 😂😂
I love it! It was a guilty pleasure for me, even back in 1976 when I was already in my 20's and out in the working world. My friends and co-workers would have thought I was nuts, listening to and following a group that was popular with the 12 year old crowd. Turns out there were many men and women of my age who loved the Bay City Rollers and their music (and still do!) but have kept that hidden from the rest of the world!❤
Thanks that took me back to 1976 I was 12 You need to check out their earlier music
I've been a BIG Bay City Rollers fan since their inception. ROCK ON!
As a Edinburgh Man born and bred the best group to come out of the great city of Edinburgh was Pilot. Check them out.
I was in grade school in the 70s. This song is a cover. Dusty Springfield made it a hit in the 60s.
Saturday Night was also really good. I bought their album back in the day.
I love that you are willing to put this out there! When they were popular most guys would never admit to liking them and were secretly jealous of them because their girlfriends loved them. Just so your daughter understands their impact, there was Beatlemania and there was Rollermania. Their fans still love them!
I really spin their vinyls regularly. Love them. Thanks for comment
Took the world over for 5 years . Extremely popular
I was 10 and loved the rollers. I have all their albums and still play them. This Dusty Springfield cover has been done many times. The Tourists do a great version
Saturday Night was another great song by them!
My favorite version of my favorite song ever. Never heard a version I don't love, but this is my absolute favorite.
I was in the Navy home on leave around christmas late 70s met these guys at Niagra falls nice as could be.
I loved the Bay City Rollers ❤
Hey,, if you have 9 more favorite BCR songs - consider being a guest on our weekly BCR Themed Radio Show - "Dedication - Fans Remember The Bay City Rollers on TD1 Radio. Reach out if interested. Great Video!
I live in the city they named themselves after, Bay City, Michigan. They wanted an American sounding name, so they threw a dart at a map of the US, and it landed on Bay City. They added Rollers and they had a name. I was a kid when they were big and they were all over the teen magazines, wearing tartan. My favorite song of theirs is Saturday Night.
Great reaction, folks! Bay City Rollers? I am having a couple of rums here in Canada! Yes, we listened to this band! Funny that any one would be listening to them but there were so many bands to listen to back then. I was living in a smaller town in a province called Manitoba and I remember all the people who I hung around with. We even dressed like the Bay City Rollers for a bit! Anyway, God Bless both of you!
Thanks for the comments!
Lol I still have a couple of 8-track tapes of them
Just loved Bay City Rollers.🇬🇧
Nah they were pish.
Once a roller always a roller coaster
I had a pair of roller strollers . It was my first concert I went to.
This is truly a "guilty pleasure" song. I was instantly transported back to 1975 (or so) with this one. My favorite version is sung by Annie Lennox and Dave Stewart (at the time, their band was called The Tourists. WAAAY before the Eurythmics).
I'm picturing copies of Tiger Beat with these guys plastered all over the cover along with Leif Garrett, David Cassidy and Scott Baio.
Another guilty pleasure band would be Sweet with Fox On The Run or Ballroom Blitz.
Just found you guys. Liked and sub'd for more. Let's turn this young lady on to the CLASSICS! It'll be a helluva deep dive 😁.
We even wore the clothes
Cool, the lineup included Ian, after Alan left the group
Great band, eric wrote most of the song, money honey wasnt written for the rollers,it was played at the top story club in Edinburgh Scotland.
Man i miss this song 😁. I see you guys are new reactors, a tip: better lighting, camera focus and see if your voices can come out better.
And please show her more guilty pleasures, hehe.
BCR had a great music catalog.
Thanks for the reactions...👍👍
Gotta do “Saturday Night” by them or “Rock’N’Roll Love Letter”.
Yes! I was going to do Saturday Night. Thanks
Rock and Roller!! Gotta do that one too!
Shang A Lang.
My favourite band ever
Ahhh, The Tartan Terrors!!!...at least that's one of the nicknames given to these boys back in the day 😁
I was 14 when they hit the big time and I had a ticket for their Sydney Australia concert but mum made me sell it about a week before the concert. From what we saw on the news reports, it was an absolute madhouse, Les had his shirt ripped off his body and apparently they tried to get his strides too but they were so tight (painted on, as my grandmother would say...) no-one could get a decent grip on them... so it was probably safer to stay home and just watch it all on the telly...🥴
🙃🐨🇦🇺
Rolller skating late 70's early 80's
Loved the Bay City Rollers, Yesterday's Hero is a must
I was 6 years old in 1976....and yes, these guys were VERY popular back then.
BCR!!! Yes! They were awesome! Tartan love!

they were huge worldwide .
I took my wee sister up to the Barra,s so she coul buy tartan scarfs 1975 it was ,she loved woody
Closet Roller fan here! 😁Don't tell my friends! LOL!
I don't have guilty pleasure groups. I proudly announce everything I like to listen to. I will krank up the Osmonds rather than turn it down.
Yes! Maybe Osmonds will make a visit. Thanks
Flash back to high school in Australia, and a lot of the girls dressing in tartan ties, scarves, vests, 3/4 length baggy pants with tartan trim, stripped multi-coloured socks, chunky platform shoes, or white or the ankle high style runners🤔😯🫢😵💫😢
Derek was my man when I was 16❤😊
Was good in the day.. but different now 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
I think the term the Bay City Rollers would fit under is Power Pop, to loud to be pop, but not loud enough to be Rock.
I appreciate the parent/kid thing....lol. My 38 yr. old daughter has the best variant in taste for music....Thanks to me.
Gotta teach them right! Thanks
Love the baycity rollers . One direction of the 70s.
if you want a great Scottish rock group from the 70's check out The Sensational Alex Harvey Band
Also Maggie Bell and nazareth
the original boyband - they had a lot of hits !
He needs to bring out the pants with the tartan edging on the hems.
Check out Gangstagrass rap, blue grass music fused.
2 American originated misic styles that weirdly blemd beautifully.
I recommend highly, nickle and dime blues and never go home again.
Loved Bay City Rollers!❤
Used to love the Tartan Army.
Dusty springfield did sing it,she was english.
I was shooting from the hip. Glad I pulled this out of the air.
S A T U R D A Y night!
You have to do Saturday Night
it was rollermania they were bigger then the beatles and massive in japan
Dusty Springfield, The Bay City Roller & The Tourists all had a No 4 Hit in the UK with this song. Sam Fox also did a version but only got to No 44 in the UK chart.
“ know them” ? - they were huge at the time
S. A. T,U,R. D. A. Y. Night!
Never feel guilty about the music you love! If other people find it odd or laugh, that's their problem. Play it loud be proud and screw what everyone else thinks. Life is too short to be bothered by what others think of you.
Glam Rock Era
Hello from Canada new subscriber here I am 45 and I am not afraid too say that I listen too the bay city rollers in fact one of my favorite songs by them is S A T U R D A Y if I may make a suggestion you should introduce your daughter too the Doors , Joplin , Clapton , Cream , Chicago , Journey , Foreigner , Boston , Kansas , 38 special , Allman Brothers and the Doobie brothers there are too many too name especially the Doors .
Without further ado, took about 1/3 of the video.
Listen to the original by Dusty Springfield.
I have and it’s good. Kids dont realize the great singers from the past. Thanks for watching.
I subscribed to you and I like your vibe so do Saturday Night
Thanks. I will definitely do S.A.T.U.R.DAY Night!
I prefer Dusty Springfield's version.
Hard to hear the music over your conversation
That’s what a reaction video is, if just wanna hear song then I’d search and listen to it
This was played by the best session men in London at the time, the legendary Big Jim Sullivan (the guy who tutored Little Jim Page back when he was starting out) on guitar. So a better track than might be expected given the Rollers reputation.
Why the heck are you talking through the whole song
Only Les could sing. 🎉 the band members could hardly play instruments . Mostly all pre-fabricated but so catchy
They aren't mollets,70s style,eric cut his.
I find it one of their weaker singles. RIP Les and Alan ( replaced by Ian Mitchell in this video). Strangely, falling between, "Dedication," and, "It's a Game," this didn't appear on any of their UK albums.
Dusty did it better
Like the idea of father-daughter reactions. I'll look for more. BUT... It is a reactions video. Stop the video occasionally and let us hear your reactions. You are taking throughout but we can't hear what you're saying. That's what we're here for
Thanks for advice. Still trying to find out our style. One person commented on an earlier video that I talked too much. I definitely have things to say. Thanks again
Stop talking and listen to the music.
How about Sugar Sugar by the make-believe group the Archies. Now that is a guilty pleasure. I was 13 when it came out and I was in love with a girl and that song stuck with me. Still does.
