Once again I'm going to recommend Wilderun - The Tyranny of Imagination. These guys take the Opeth formula, crank up the folk, and add orchestral atmosphere to the mix for an absolutely epic sound.
Here's a vague breakdown to give you a bit of context behind this songs lyrics and the story that's told on the album it's from - Apex(2017).
The 2 songs you've heard prior are part of the storyline(lightly explained below).
Awakening is chapter 1
The Matriarch is chapter 3
Cleanse The Bloodlines is chapter 4
This is a concept album telling a story track by track about an Immortal being. This is the opening song on the album(chapter 1). It is sung from the Immortals perspective(not all the tracks are), about being awoken in his mountain hollow from a 1000 year sleep. As a covenant of birth, the immortal must do the bidding of whoever awakens him. As the immortal begins his journey, he is led by a shadow of a falcon flying above(track 2 Shadow Guide). You find out that "The Matriarch"(which is played by the male vocalist in this song Awakening) was the one to awaken him. She wants him to find her four sons, so she can kill them and perform a blood ritual to gain immortality for herself(pretty dark haha), and his journey to find them. Each son has their own song about them on the album. The closing song Apex, is about the immortal going back to sleep in his mountain and it is a phenomenally written song(the whole album is).
Their new JUNO award winning album for best Hard Rock Metal album of 2020 "Abyss", which came out in August 2020, is a continuation of this story, and on track 2(titled Abyss like the album) the immortal has awoken on a spaceship, confused as hell, wondering why he's not in his mountain but in space. I won't go into the rest of the album.
That's an insane premise lol amazing music for it though!
@@CodyLamReacts it definitely is haha! On the second album Abyss, in chapter 18(The Wind That Shapes The Land), the story hits it's climax with a planet destroying battle between the Immortal and The Matriarch. It's an epic track in all aspects. I highly recommend it, but I'd say do a few or more songs by UTA before getting to it(obviously it's your choice what you do haha, just leaving my opinion lol). Whatever you choose by them is awesome, and no need to follow the storyline in order, unless it peaks your interest enough for the deep dive haha.
Northwest passage, legacy, carry the flame, soulbound, tonight we ride, abyss, apex, dawn of ages, shadow guide and faster then light are all great songs by Unleash the Archers. If you could react to any of them that would great. Please and thank you. Love your reaction.
