Ever since Amy Schumer became a mainstream force in the world of comedy, she has taken an interest in a variety of progressive political issues. Some people were more than happy to welcome Schumer into the fold as a representative of their cause. Other people were more skeptical. They questioned her motivation and pointed out her history of racially insensitive jokes. In this video we take a look at Amy's attempts at political activism, as well as the many backlashes and controversies she has found herself in over the years.

The irony also is that statistically men are more often the victims of violence than women. Women are just more likely to experience domestic violence and men commit more acts of violence against all sexes in general. Truth is though men are more likely to be attacked and killed than women.

I've actually made this mistake before. When I was younger, I was trying to grow up really fast, and saw myself as a more intelligent and better conversationalist than my friends, but I had no real world knowledge. So I'd go into conversations having HEARD about a thing but knowing nothing about it. Kinda like Brendan Scahub. I think at that point I turned 13 or 14 and let it go.

I think it takes a woman to really see this: Amy Schumer is deeply, deeply resentful that she is dumpy and plain. She feels entitled to be a natural and ravishing beauty and her resentment that she is nothing more than average looking colors everything she does. She will never get over it.

She was joking about women's greatest fear vis a vis men, was violence, while men's was being humiliated.

a few years ago, i did a little research thing pulling soviet era alcohol/suicide stats separated by sex(the sovunion didn't keep gendered data, they used sex in record keeping), and found that they had a much tighter gap between genders prior to liberal capitalism, which makes sense.
men's suicide rates went back up to "normal" for the rest of the western world by the end of the 90s, but women's stayed low or in some socioeconomic groups, went down. if you're interested, i can send the original data. it's really eye-opening shit.
That segment had nothing to do with suicide. The creator brought up suicide on his own and projected it into her bit.
I'm a guy and I never thought a woman's period was something bad. I lived in a house with all females, which means that they all had there's. I respected how they were feeling, asked how or what I could do to make things better, and went about my own business. But never was there any negative attitudes by myself or any other guys I know.
It depends on the family you grow up in. Staunch religious family’s look down upon women getting their first periods, and that’s a very relatable subject to them

This is the problem we have now. Jokes not only have to be funny, but they can’t punch down, they can’t be insulting, etc. Don’t worry though, soon enough the outrage mobs will remove anything funny or enjoyable, even ones they may have found funny or enjoyable at some point. We’ll all just be at home staring at the wall trying to find something to complain about.
