- This is part 2 of 2 videos that will show you how to clean out the carb on a non-running 550EX series B&S motor.
Link to part 1: • Briggs and Stratton 55...
Tools:
8mm socket w/ ratchet
ratchet extension, at least 3"
T-15 torx bit screwdriver
various smaller flat-head screwdrivers
pliers
Carburetor part# 799584
Main jet part# 592792
After I cleaned the jet out and put it all back together I forgot that I had disconnected the spark plug wire and thought that it wasn't working. lol. Thank you for the video!
I appreciate you! I’ve only had my mower for 1.5 years and was getting frustrated and was ready to take it to have someone repair it. You have a gift in explaining the correct process on what to look for, and have a great personality. I was able to fix my mower in one try and it’s working better than ever. I’m not a great handyman, but you’ve given me more confidence that I can do things myself! Thank you sir!
Thank you for the wonderfully kind feedback. Congrats on your fix!
This gives me hope. 😂
I just want to thank you. You video allowed me to strip down my mower, clean and fix the carburetor and started first go. I also washed out the fuel tank and put in a new air filter. You are a legend.
Thank you Jennifer, I am humbled by your words. Congrats on getting your mower going again!
Seriously I want to buy you a beer. I was frustrated for 2 days with the fucking lawnmower until I calmed down and started browsing came across your video. I didn't do the rebuild because my lawn mower is 2 years old and it would not start after a full tune up.I got the jet out and cleared it from the carb and bammm..... one pull and shit fires right up. This gave me a huge insight on carburetor for lawn mowers and it made my night. Thanks for sharing
Iggy One, lol, thanks for the comment and I am serious glad you got it running again. These things are tricky if don't know they come apart like that!
THANK YOU! I have never fixed any motorized thing before. After watching your two videos I attempted to fix my lawnmower that would not keep running after squirting starting fluid in the carb. I followed your pointers and after putting everything back together it ran like a champ.
janice, well done and congrats to you on the success! thanks for taking the time to comment
Cool
Amazing that after 7 years this video is still yielding dividends. You helped me salvage my mower. Thank you so much. For every grace that is administered there was a price paid by someone. Grace is not cheap just because it's free. Thanks again!
Thank you
Thanks for telling me to “man up”. I needed that reminder. Had this mower sitting in storage for 7+ years used only a couple times. When my electric died, broke out this one and it didn’t start. Followed your tutorial and it’s running like a champ. Thanks!
Nice work!
Thank you for doing this video! I was getting so frustrated with my lawn mower not working properly and hard to start…I was actually on the Home Depot website looking to go spend $500 for a new mower. But then I thought to check CZcams and came across your video! Your instructions made it so simple!! Now about 45 minutes later.…The lawn mower started right up and my son is out mowing the yard now!
I don't know what's more awesome, the fact you got your mower going, of the fact your son is mowing the lawn!
Thank you so much! U saved me a bunch of money! SWF and I try and fix everything myself within reason. My troybilt wouldn't start and after I did everything on your video. It started!!! Thanks again. Kim
Great job Kim!
One more grateful person here - I was doing a tune-up and must have got some oil in the carburetor when I inverted it to drain it. The local repair shop was backed up for 2 weeks so reluctantly (since I'm not super handy) I followed your video. Took me twice as long since I was double checking every step - but it started up right away. I have finally overcome my fear of the internal workings of a lawnmower. Thanks so much.
Awesome! Thank you for sharing this with me, I love hearing other folks success
Wow, Help all the way out to Australia! I have a locally made Victa mower with the same Briggs & Stratton engine with the same problem. It is 19 years old and this is the first problem ever. Thanks to your first class youtube tutorial I fixed it for no cost. Most of the car jets were partially blocked with 19 years of accumulated crud. There was some black foam jamming the needle and seat almost shut. All fixed now thanks to your help from Hawaii and youtube. Thanks for posting this very helpful clip.
Hey Gary, thanks for taking the time to post this! Congrats on the fix, although I am no longer in Hawaii, it's nice to see how far and wide this little video has traveled over time. Cheers
I want to thank the gentlemen that did part one and part to , of how to fix a lawn mower that wouldn't start. I a woman that had no idea how to fix a,lawn mower, you helped me soooo much I did everythimg you told me to do and when I was done , it started right up, I was so proud of myself thank you so much. Tytyty.
Denice, you are most welcome, I'm glad I could help you. My inspiration for my video method comes from my mom who was never sure of these things either. Your comment is affirmation that I am striking the right chord so thank you for taking the time to comment
Great video, really clear, especially liked the clear showing of the throttle arms and auto choke lever, that's something lots of videos skim over.
Thank you
Woohoo 🙌🏽. Thank you so much for your 2 part videos instructions. I am a widow and 61 years old my husband did all the yard work before he got sick and passed on. I had no one to help me; so me being me I searched CZcams and I found your videos because my lawnmower wouldn’t start for over a year now. 🙏🏻😊👍🏻
Thanks for commenting Crystal. Congratulations on finding the way to fix this stuff yourself! CZcams has been a godsend to the DIY minded.
I can't thank you enough! I've never repaired a lawn mower before, but with your help was able to get my mower up and running again. 👏👏👏
Sondra Benson, awesome! Thanks for taking the time to comment and subscribe if you haven't already.
Brah! I love the way you went step by step. I was so frustrated when my mower wouldn't work today! I checked and reconnected the spark plug and I got the issue in your video but I had watched 2 others and settled on yours, the other 2 were show offs and intimidating.
I did exactly what you did and even sharpened the blade while I was at it and the mower worked beautifully! Now I'm feeling myself and feel like I can build a car from scratch, lol!
God bless you, saved me $$$
twesam, thank you for your kind words. I am humbled. Responses like yours are the reason I make these videos...i started doing it just for fun, but realized that it was 'actually' helpful to many folks, so i kinda got addicted to the process.
thanks for taking the time to comment, and congrats on your success!
Thanks. Took my carb apart twice tonight to clean and fix my mower. The little round shiny metal part on the bottom of the carb space had come out of its place and was evidently rattling around. Your video showed me where it belonged and also how to clean everything. The last few times mowing it was surging. Yesterday, it would only run for 2 seconds at a time. Now, it is running like a top. Thank you very much. Now I need to watch a video about sharpening the blades.
Thank you, thank you, thank you.
that shiny disk mines keeps falling out
Thank you for this! It's raining here in Westchester, NY. I've done everything but no luck. So now I'm going to dive in for the first time. Wish me luck! 😂
You got this brother!
What an excellent video. You are a natural teacher, intuiting where someone with limited experience will get stuck or have questions. You are reassuring, easy-going, and encouraging. Thank you!
John, thank you, truly appreciate that feedback. I've mentioned on some other comments that I try to make videos in a way that my mom could follow the instructions. Some people get frustrated by how much I talk or over explain...my videos aren't for those folks primarily. They're for beginners and people with a need for knowledge.
Your video is spot on. I had the exact same problem and the mower was fixed in short order. Thanks for the information.
Excellent breakdown - I have a very similar 550 and thanks to this guide I wasn't surprised by pieces falling out and got my mower running again in just an hour or two, never having done engine work before. I found it much easier to access by putting up on a workbench if you have one around.
Camera focus tip: fill up the screen as much as you can with a closer background like your hand and it will help the camera figure out where it's supposed to focus sooner.
All said, thanks for taking the time and effort to put this together!
Thanks for the tip Ryan, I really had no idea the camera was out of focus until I went to put this online. On the tiny veiwfinder (it's an old-school point/shoot) it looked like it was in focus. But obviously it was a little fuzzy.
Thanks for the comment and congrats on getting your mower running again.
Thanks so much for this great video! After draining the old gas I followed it as closely as I could, completely cleaning out the carburetor and blowing out the various tiny passageways with a can of compressed air after working on them with a sewing needle. When I removed the carb bowl I noticed small white "balls" of corrosion and suspect some of that was stuck in the works somewhere. I put everything back together and added new gas and on the very first pull it fired right up! I am so happy to have my mower that I couldn't get started for a year back!
Great job Eric! Happy for you, thanks for the comment
Part 1 & 2 gave me the confidence to clean the first plastic carburetor I've ever seen--plus saved me a trip to town & back and probably $50. Plus at least one day delay! Easy to see visuals, easy to understand explanations.
Awesome! So happy for you and thank you for the comments.
Thanks man! Helped me get my Briggs and Stratton going after sitting in my garage for six months. Very thorough walk through.
Nice! Congrats on the success!
Maan!Thank you for making this video. Had the same problem and now it's working great. If you were close, I'd buy you a beer or 12. Good job!
larios956, you are welcome my friend. Thanks for taking the time to comment and congrats on your success!
I agree. This is what I needed to save my sanity. It worked perfect! Thank you so much for a perfect tutorial.
Thank you so much for the video and taking the time to do it. I had gotten 90% of the way b4 the video. But the last parts about cleaning the intake (White Plastic item) was spot on. I did it and got the beast back to working! Thanks for posting!!!! -RR
BEST video yet on how to do this!!! Thanks for the blow tests, bicycle pump and needle tricks!!! And the yellow can of starting fluid substitute for carb cleaner!!! We couldn't find the carb cleaner we bought 2 years ago for this purpose, but we did find a can of starting fluid like yours!!! The sunset as we put the carburetor back together, but it passed all the blow tests and we have high hopes it will start today when put back together!!! Will keep you posted!!! :)!!! It was great watching you use everyday tools, nothin fancy, to get the job done!!! We took your attitude and ran with it!!! Thanks for the knowledge and inspiration!!! :)!!!
Thank you Marjorie, your kindness comes through in your words. Glad I could help and I'm willing to bet you have a running motor today!
Thank u so much for the how to video!!! Been working on this mower for two days. After watching video, I took the carb apart for the fourth time and cleaned the three ports out and reassembled carb. Mower started first pull. Thank u again sir.
That's awesome, congrats on the fresh carb!
Thank you! I used this video to repair a pressure washer that had the same Briggs and Stratton motor. The seal over the bowl was slightly different; mine had a plug I could open with a hex wrench then use a long screw driver as torque to pop the seal off. Otherwise your step by step instructions worked like a charm and I got it running again. Much appreciated.
Sweet and congrats! Thanks for taking the time to comment
That was right on time. I was frustrated mower wouldn't start. Saw your video. Fix my carb and finished the lawn just as it got dark. Thanks
Dude, I'm glad the video helped you and I appreciate your comment. Great job!
Thank you for posting this detailed explanation. My problem was all the way inside that white plastic valve. I was on the verge of throwing in the towel and taking it to a shop, or buying something new. But, after watching this video I persevered, and now my mower is running again. I really appreciate it.
Nice! Perseverance pays off.
Thank you, I forgot to drain my fuel at the end of last season, and could not get my mower to start. Your video helped me get it back up and running at no cost!
Nice... congrats!
Just found this video and man was it a huge help! I replaced the spark plug, changed the oil, dumped the gas and added new gas and a cleaner, and nothing. After watching this video I had the courage to take apart the carburetor to clean it and by god it worked! Thank you so much.
IB, awesome! I am happy to have been a small part of your success. Thanks for taking the time to comment.
I followed you step by step and everything about the B&S plastic carburetor turned out just fine. One pull to prime the engine then the next started like new. Thanks for everything. You’re the best.
Awesome news martin, thanks for commenting!
Very helpful. After weeks of not geeing my mower to start, I viewed your video and completed the process as described. Starts beautifully and dutifully every time. THANK YOU
Awesome! Congrats!
Couldn't ask for a better and more detailed video on how to do this. My carb is the exact same one and it's been run without a filter, so your excellent video will help me get it running in top shape. Thanks!
Truly appreciate the compliment sir. Good luck on your repair
My husband performed this maintenance and took a free non-starting mower and now runs great! Thank you!
Jill, I am thrilled for you guys, congrats on the success and thanks for the comment.
Great Video! You could simplify it down to 1) Remove the air filter, 2) Remove the bowl [2 screws], 3) Prop the float up with the air filter, 4) Pry out the white jet body, 5) Clean out the jets with a wire or needle, and some compressed air, 6) Put it all back together. You really don't need to take the cover, tank and carb off.
I've rebuilt a carb or two in my past and this gave me the walkthru I needed before heading into this project. I was given this mower by a neighbor who barely ever used it and was going to throw it away because it wouldn't start and they now had a service doing their lawn. I did the 6 steps I mentioned above, and it started right up and kept running ever since. Neighbor didn't mind, he hated mowing.
THANK YOU!!!! THANK U !!!! THANK U!!!!. I bought my first ever lawnmover last year and just used it for 3 times and it sat in my garage for the winter, and wouldn't start this season. Followed your video and Wollaa....started on my very first attempt. Thank you again..
Muhammad, congrats on your success and thanks for the comment!
Run the lawnmower until it runs out of gas before you put it away for winter. I forgot to do that to mine last winter and just finished cleaning out the carburetor to get it running again
Good video. Repaired a couple of these types myself and your right, you may have to disassemble a couple times to get it right. So a good rule of thumb is to take your time and clean it good and it will crank first pull.
Yessir
Thank you so much for this easy to follow step by step video! I was able to repair my mower that had been sitting for over a year!!
Nice! Sorry for the delayed response.
Legend! Followed your vid and got my 550EX purring like the day it was made. Thanks so much for making this. I had crud at the tip of the needle and one blocked port in the carby. A very satisfying repair!
Dude that's awesome, so happy to hear that! Thank you for taking the time to comment
I would like to thank you very much. I was given a free lawn mower this past weekend and it hasn't used in 6 years so I knew it was a carburetor issue. Had it apart, all jets cleaned and back together and purring in 40min!! Thanks
That's awesome, happy for you!
Thanks for the step by step...it was very helpful to see what needed done before actually tearing down.I am a automotive mechanic and have done and still rebuild carbs but have not done much small engine work.A neighbor wanted me to tune 2 of his mowers so I figured I would give it a shot....already finished one that had 4.5 hp motor and am doing the 550exmotor now and it has been sitting so I am going to take carb off and check it.
Mike, thank you for taking the time to comment. I appreciate the feedback from a mechanic! good luck with your repairs sir.
Excellent. I watch fix it yourself videos all the time. This by far is the best. My mower is up and running again. Excellent demonstration. Thank you.
I am humbled by your comment, Roldon. Thank you.
Hey my friend I just finished doing this to a toro mower and it fired up first pull. Great video with fantastic instructions. Thank you very very much.
Awesome man, thanks for the compliment and congrats on your success
Just fixed today. You are king. Getting all back together after stripping it all down and then it working was so satisfying. 👍
Glad to have helped. Congratulations!
Thanks for both parts one and two! I got all the way to having the carb out, but was to chicken to pry it apart. But after watching you do it step by step, I knew I could fix it myself... and it now starts! Plus all of the other videos showed the bulb type carburetor, not the newer one in this video. You Rock!
Enli10d, thank you my good man... appreciate the kind comment and congrats on getting the engine running!
jcx2bby Yeah, now the real fun begins, I still gotta mow.
You seem as if you could teach Anything to anyone such a kind voice loaded with confidence and very nice gentlemen. Im going to do this after church tomorrow. Thank you for being here for us.
Quinn Grinn, I think that might be the nicest comment I've ever gotten... thank you for taking the time to post it.
when I do these vids, I think about folks that have never had exposure to mechanical mentors like I did...it's easy if you know how and impossible if you don't.
thanks again and best of luck with your repairs tmrw!
Thank you for saying that funny story my neighbor told me to put some ether on the end of a broom stick and spray it while I push the mower haha thanks again for your compassion you really seem to help out this planet we need more people like you
Thank you so much for posting this pair of videos. The step-by-step was perfect and I am back up and running!
Deuce, you are most welcome, glad to help. Please subscribe if you haven't already. Thank you
Aloha and Mahalo for you very helpful video for helping fix my Father in Law’s mower
Your videos for fixing the carb was great. I followed your informative videos and had the mower running in 45 mins.
I truly appreciated your help and assistance.
Mark
So glad to have helped, and congrats on your fix.
7 years later, I just did it as you shown. Fixed ! I hope the little heart is doing well 🙂
Great job! Yes, the little girl is now 8...time flies. Thanks for commenting
I want to thank you for both videos. Although I have not torn my carburetor apart yet, it's happening tomorrow. I've torn my mower apart so many times and replaced the spark plug, the filter, changed the oil and gas, and taken the carburetor off and cleaned it, but just didn't realize I needed to take it apart further. I think I was more scared, also. Now I feel like I can break it down further. Everyone was telling me it must be the fuel filter that is clogged, but unless that's in the fuel tank, I just don't know where that could be. Thanks again. I hope this will have my mower running. My lawn is a jungle now!
Kristen, it sounds like you have a good handle on mechanical processes already so this should be an easy kill for you! I appreciate you taking the time to comment and if you have questions I'll do my best to help.
And there is no fuel filter on these engines from the factory. People sometimes add them later, but they do almost zero good, and add another maintenance item and leak potential to your machine.
@@jcx2bby I've taken my vacuum cleaner apart countless times. With machines like these that cost an arm and a leg to replace, I'd rather take them apart and fix them than have to pay to get a new one. Besides, what fun is it if you can't figure it out; right?
@@jcx2bby I also want to thank you for a straight answer. I can't tell you how many people I've asked about the fuel filter or how many people said it's probably the fuel filter. They kept telling me it was between the gas tank and the carb, but I kept saying all there is is a tube. Now that I know there isn't one, I feel much better knowing I wasn't the one who wasn't informed.
@@xten63 sounds like you are now in a position to educate those folks who thought the "knew". By taking your carb off and replacing spark plugs you've already accomplished more than most ever will on small engines.
Great videos. Thanks. Following your instructions, I disassembled and reassembled my mower carb. Using a little bit of fresh fuel, it started right away, but ran roughly and leaked fuel. Upon disassembly and inspection, I realized that I had oriented the carburator bowl incorrectly by 180 degrees, not allowing it to seat properly. Assembled it correctly, and it ran strongly and free of leaks.
Greg, awesome and congrats on the success! Thanks for taking the time to comment
Great video! I watched another guy's video first that didn't show how to remove the jets. Didn't work. I watched your comprehensive video, took out the jets and cleaned out the little tubes and my mower fired up with the first pull after I out it together again.
your video was right on, drove 20 mins., in a half hour my friends mower was clean and working... thanks to your video... ps I mowed his lawn too
Lol right on Chris!
Thank you- worked like a charm- without taking the whole thing apart I removed the carburetor cover and used an air compressor to blow out the fuel inlet and the small valve you show on here.
Nice hack! Glad.you got it to work.
Bro you saved my ass was going to buy a new mower and boom 💥 you fixed mines for me for free of cost thank you brother!!
Haha, success! Glad to have helped. Thanks for commenting.
GREAT video. had followed 2 others with no success. found yours and found the detail i needed that was missing in others. found out where that little silver disc goes in bowl by looking at your pics.THANK YOU.
Awesome, I am glad you found my video and that it had what you needed. Thanks for your comment
Definitely a good help to watch this before first time repair. Mine went perfectly - found a tiny bit of debris seated into the intake port.
Glad it helped and thank you for the comment.
Great video, I spent several hours messing with my mower. It had been sitting about a year and a half. Did everything in this video and now starts with one pull. Thank you.
Woot! Congrats Von
Yeah I have to look at mine. I’m in the same situation. New mower used a little and it sat a couple years now no start. I’m pretty sure it’s just the carb clogged up.
@@whatfreedom7 most likely it is, especially if it sat with gas in it n
Not only was this video extremely helpful for my same model mower that hasn't been running, I absolutely loved that you included the little bit referring to grabbing "your wife's sewing needle or if you're a woman watching, grab your husband's sewing needle". LOL I know it seems like such a small thing but women like myself, who tend to take on the jobs normally only thought to be "man's work", are becoming so much more common and believe me we get so tired of society treating us like we are just adorable little bimbos who don't know the first thing about engines. Your very simple reference stood out hugely to me in such a positive way. Thank you for the simple, yet amazingly huge acknowledgement that it's not always a man watching a video like this. You've earned my respect for sure! God bless.
Katherine,
I'm really happy you found my video and that it helped you get your engine going. I'm even more happy that you thought enough of it to provide such positive feedback to me. When I make my videos, I always have my mother in mind, and try to make them to where she'd be comfortable watching them along with anyone else.
Thank you for your comment, it means a lot to me.
Best instructions for fixing a lawnmower I have seen, thank you.
Thank you
Thank you so much for this thorough explanation. This got my mower running!
Outstanding!
Good presentation. Effective in presenting fixing small parts of small engine carburetors with explanation.
Thank you Tom, I sincerely appreciate the feedback and kind words.
Thank you very much! Took my mower to the repair shop and the guy had a lineup of dozens waiting. So, took it home, followed your video and it started right up!
Outstanding! Well done
@Robert Shorthill nice! Thanks for the feedback Bob
Dude! You saved my life. I used some canned air to clean out the white jet piece and some junk blew out! Thanks for the videos!
Lol glad to help
Great video, helped me overhauled my carburetor on Briggs and Stratton 550 EX, now mower runs like a champ. Thanks a lot man
Awesome! Congrats and thanks for taking the time to comment
Thanks for the videos. Very helpful. I had a similar mower problem (would run for a second or two with a shot of carb cleaner, but not otherwise.) I cleaned out the carb as you showed, but it was pristine. No gunk at all. Turns out that the fuel outlet at the bottom of the fuel tank was clogged. Could have saved myself some time by not bothering with the carb at all, but I assumed that was where the problem was. After cleaning out the tank, i'm happily running again!
Nice work! Thanks for watching and commenting
Great video - exactly what I needed to get me started. Thanks! Cute kid !
9 months later. Had same issue but 2nd time around was easier. I found the air filter hose had come undone so it was breathing dirty air. My carb allowed using 7mm socket on screws that you used T15 driver on (just in case some people don't have Torx bits.)
Sweet, thank you for watching!
Thank you so very much. Your video was amazing I followed everything you did and now my mower works again. First time I ever had to do anything like that.
Your a life saver thanks again.
You are most welcome. I appreciate you taking the time to comment
Superb! Thank you very much, another happy mower running sweetly again. Starts first time again and no longer hunts. Last Friday it was 'dead' today i bought £2.99 tin of carb cleaner and blew the jets out with my mouth. Job done.
Outstanding, congrats on the fix!
Thanks heaps from Brisbane. You're a legend. My mower is working again after its carburetor was cleaned according to your instruction today.
Haha, thank you kind sir. Legend is maybe a bit much but I'll take it!
I found that I need to take the jet assembly apart. The middle white plastic rod has three holes. All of mine were gunked shut. I cleaned them out, reassambled the machine and viola. Thank you for this video. Tool less than an hour.
Woot!
Thank you! Excellent presentation! You helped me a lot. Greetings form Poland:)
Andrzej, thank you for taking the time to comment and greetings from Las Vegas
Excellent presentation! You have taken the mystery out of this work in such a clear and concise way. Thank you!
Thanks Ron, I appreciate that kind feedback. Good luck with your repair!
Just wanted to thank you for coaching me through fixing my first ever lawn mower.
Congrats on your success and thanks for taking the time to comment!
Thanks! I did not see any impediments in the carb but checked everything, put it back together and mower runs fine. Assume something was sticking and opening it up helped. Now my wife can mow the lawn again! :)
Lmao, put the wife to work, I love it!
Really appreciate the video and I checked all this but upon reassembly I noticed that the throttle cable on mine wasn't moving the carbie levers at all. If I manually move the lever on the back of the engine that controls the wire directly on the carbie it works fine so my issue appears to be the cable isn't moving lever properly. Ran out of time to investigate further but I learnt a lot so thanks!!!
Thank you! Thought I was buying a new lawn mower... followed your steps and is now starting on first pull!
Brad, that's awesome. Congrats and thanks for taking the time to comment
Other CZcams presenters need to take lessons from YOU, articulate, camera control, gotcha's full example of the material covered. I had this problem, YOU fixed it for me!!
Thank you kind viewer! I appreciate that positive feedback. And congrats on your fix.
Thanks bud. I owe you a beer! Got my Pressure washer running on 1 pull. Helpful insight to carbs in general as well.
Sweet, glad you got it running. Thanks for taking the time to comment and someday, maybe we'll have a chance to sit down for a brew.
jcx2bby you are awesome. I followed your tutorial from start to finish, and my mower started after five pulls. :)
Catherine, that's awesome! Congrats on the fix and thanks for taking the time to comment. Please subscribe if you haven't.
Worked perfectly!! It cost me $12.22 and about 30 minutes. I replaced spark plug for $2.11, carburetor cleaner spray $5.49 and starting fluid $3.99 (this might not be necessary but good to have around) all from Auto Zone. Super easy fix that will probably save you $50 to $75 dollars. Thank you!
Michael, you're welcome, and thanks for taking the time to comment. Congrats on the cheap fix!
I must have taken that carb apart 10 times, changed the gas, used carb cleaner and at most the mower would run for a minute. A needle solved the issue :).Thanks for the video, big thumbs up!
Congrats on the fix!
It's August of 2021 and your video helped me revive a throwaway in excellent shape. I need a power mower for the yard again. Thanks! ...
Awesome! I am happy to hear this. Congrats on the fix!
Thanks for the video. It helped me sort out my problems. I also found gunk in the holes in the upper part where the jets holder fits. All cleaned now. Greetings from Australia.
Glad you got it running, greetings from Vegas.
Thanks for the in depth explanation and take apart process
Your videos on this are thoroughly explained and clearly shot. Thank you for making these!
Thanks for the comment! I really do appreciate that. I'm glad to have helped
@@jcx2bby The 550EX 140cc mower I worked on just started and runs well except for engine surging. The oil was too full and was being spit out of the carburetor, so I emptied out the excess oil and let it run for a while. Still surges but seems a little better. Oh, your daughter is precious on this video! Makes me miss my teenage kids being young.
@@lichin11 Surging is usually an air leak somewhere, perhaps one more reinstall of the carb will help. Good luck!
My daughter is in a bunch of vids. She can't help but be part of the action I guess!

Great video! Was able to follow right along and now our lawnmower is working great!
Outstanding news. Happy to hear of the success!
Thanks for all the details. Great narration. The tip with the ball needle was pretty cool
I appreciate your feedback. I am truly glad to have been able to help.
Thanks for the clear and informative DIY video. Restricted jets were causing hard starts and fluctuating idle. 🤙🏽🤙🏽🤙🏽🤙🏽🤙🏽
You're welcome, thanks for commenting
Great job man ! It was very informative and easy to follow .. I’m sure you helped a lot of people.. thanks !!!!
Thank you sir
Very clear explaination given with great use video camera! Job well done! wish all youtube videos were this quality. Derek, Dayton Ohio
Thank you Derek! I appreciate your kind words.
Exactly what I needed to fix that annoying running problem. Now running smooth, like new. Thank you. Narragansett Bay
No problem, glad you found the video helpful!
Thank you!!!!! :-) !!!!! I really appreciate the help!! You had every step so well explained. The only thing I had to look elsewhere for was how to move the fuel line clamp. I was starting at the BASIC level and still managed to do it with your help. Thank you!
I'm glad you figured it out and I am vicariously proud of you. Thanks for commenting on my video
Thanks mate from Humpty Doo NT Australia 🇦🇺 👍 love your work
First time lawn mower carb. fix. WOW!!!!! Your video did it for me.... THANK YOU
Woot! Congrats man
