    Saudi Arabia and Iran
Separated by the Persian Gulf, the two neighboring countries that have been competing for dominance over the past few decades in a region referred to as The Middle East. Both apparently hate each other. Well, at least their governments do. In recent years, the two countries have been either directly or indirectly involved in several different conflicts throughout the Middle East.
Both countries are run by theocracies, or governments made up of religious leaders. Their religion? Islam. However, Iran does have democracy and a constitution, making it officially a theocratic republic. Saudi Arabia is an absolute monarchy. The king is in charge, making decisions under the guidance of religious leaders and top princes of the royal family. In Saudi Arabia, the Quran is the official constitution of the country.
But yeah, both countries have really authoritarian governments, both ranking near the bottom on the Economist Intelligence Unit’s Democracy Index. An example of this? Both have state-run broadcast media that dominate how citizens get information and regularly feed them pro-government propaganda. There are no private, independent broadcasters. Satellite dishes are even banned in both countries, although people still have them anyway. Private newspapers or magazines are heavily censored. That all said, Iran is a bit more free than Saudi Arabia. At least their government has to be somewhat accountable or they get the boot. And in Saudi Arabia, it’s illegal to be an atheist, punishable by death. Wait, what’s that? Oh, apparently you can get killed for being an atheist in Iran, too.
The vast majority of citizens in both countries are Muslims. However, they are of two different branches of Islam. Around 90-95% in Iran practice Shia Islam, whereas around 85%-90% in Saudi Arabia practice Sunni Islam. This Shia-Sunni divide has been contentious for centuries and always demonstrated an underlying rift between the two countries. But Saudi Arabia can boast Islam started within its borders. It regularly attracts millions to Mecca and Medina, the two holiest cities for Muslims. Medina is where the founder of Islam, Muhammad, is buried. Mecca, the holiest city of them all, attracts Muslims from all over the world each year with the Hajj, the annual pilgrimage all Muslims are expected to make at least once in their life.
Both countries have a similar birth rate and a similar population growth rate. However, Iran has 2 and a half times more people than Saudi Arabia, despite the fact that it has less land area.

In my university days, Israeli and Jewish students seemed to be getting along well with the Saudis and other Arabs. When I asked in private the Saudis replied, "The Prophet said to 'know your enemies.'" The Jewish students seemed to think the same way but only said, "This is the US, we have to get along."

Slicin' N' Dicin' when the name of the country isn’t changed in English and end glide has the ability to pronounce it properly then yeah we tend to try to pronounce a nations name properly especially when it’s written for us in our own writing script I mean Iran and Iraq use the Arabic/ Persian script to write not the Latin script so it’s an assumption that when it is written in the Latin script in a way most of the world would be able to pronounce the nations name properly that it shouldn’t be hard to do so someone who is making a informative video to figure out

Another thing is that although Saudi Arabia has a higher gdp per capita, it is safe to say foreigners make 2 times less money than Saudi nationals due to discrimination. Unless you work in ARAMCO. Arabian Dude "I’m Saudi Arabian and the video is impressively accurate, however I would like to add something; saying Saudi government is theocratic is not very accurate. The government claims to be theocratic but truth is Saudi government hates religious people and about 95% of all government opponents are from the “religious establishment”" Their laws are based on religion. Even if the government really did hate religious people, they kowtow to them. In order to become a national; you need to convert to Islam and proselytizing for another religion carries the death penalty. If i had to speculate I'd say that you are from a different denomination than the one espoused by the government.
"In 1979 there was a true attempt to turn Saudi Arabia into an ISIS like state, more than one saudi city were captured for months by extremists most notably Makkah city. But then the government began to issue laws to appease angry religious people and started acting like a theocratic nation (the rules apply only to non royals though)." So it went from being a less theocratic nation to a more theocratic nation? Was apostacy legal before then? Was it legal to be an atheist before then? Was the Quran not the constitution before then?

      Also
When I've been there , I was 11 , about 7 years ago , we went to the Prophet's mosque and I touched a golden door which had written Muhammad on it ,without any intention!
But an Arab woman slapped me so bad and called me Mushrek!
I donno why ! She didn't have right to slap me , that's my bad memory about them ,and mina's tragedy and...
      that's why I don't like them .
However , I think some of them are nice ppl , I shouldn't argue with them

Thanks for the video... but omg as an iranian i have a lot to point out... not to make it look better but simple facts u got wrong.... or simply did not mention.
The name is Iran... not Eyeran... 🤦‍♂️
Ee... do you say Eyendia...no India?
-Sattelites dishes are not illegal in Iran. (They were when sattelite tv was first introduced but quickly the gov't gave up) in fact They have their own satteltite based channels.
-Iran has freedom of religion (to a certain degree of tolerance)... there are churches, synagogues, hindu temples etc... and more than half the country ARE atheist... public practice is not easy to do but the religions are accepted... unlike all Arab nations, we do not consider a person's religion as part of their personal information... in fact all Arabs have their religion stated in their passports... we do not. Not even on birth certificates...
Furthermore, we have every religion existing in Iran even Jewish 😉
-Iran also has holy sites for Muslims... for SHIA Muslims at least...
-Iran has history dating back over 200,000 to 300,000 thousand years... certain sites date back to even more... it is the place where the first ever monotheistic religion in history was recorded... so old in fact that they can't pinpoint the date.
-women have NO rights in Saudi Arabia. Iran has women ministers and the highest female education rate in the region (aside from India... or Eyendia, 🤣) Lol
    - In Iran u can get alcohol easier than u can get a burger haha
