In this video i am prepping the install of my 4th gen rear end with disk brakes and posi for install into my 3rd gen Camaro. I used several items to get it ready. here are the part numbers i used.
E brake cables Raybestos BC94597 and Dorman C94597
amzn.to/2QiAvuP
amzn.to/2xG5s5M
Brake pads Duralast gold DG750
Por 15 Paint
amzn.to/2QdXRle - spray can
amzn.to/2WgFdgy - paint on with brush
Ams Oil - gear oil
I first removed all of the brackets and lines off of the rear end. Cleaned it with a pressure washer. Used lacquer thinner to clean the surface of all of my parts. then used Por 15 to paint them.
I then installed the brake rotors after cleaning them off with a grinder wheel. Then all the brackets with new brake pads. Then i installed the new E brake cables. After that i installed the new brake lines i bent up. those can be found at any parts store. be prepared to mess up and get a new piece.
now it is ready for install. that will be in next video.

just got my 4th gen rear end a few days ago. will start clean up on it in the next couple of weeks. appreciate the video.
THE Evil from what year.? And car model? I’m looking for one
Some serious "oh my god step brother" vibes during the asking for help scene
My first name is Mack and my initials are MAC. I love 3rd gen Camaro's
Adam's Tarantulas now that is legit :)
Im doing a 4th gen swap into my third gen and I'm super confused about brake lines and e brake cables, and how it all mounts Could I ask a couple questions?
Thx for the video...doing the same right now ('02 rear into '91 RS)...what did you do with the electrical wiring?
David Lubin I personally ignored it and have not had any issues, but I am no expert.
Great vid, why didn’t you just have the rotors turned? Or even get aftermarket drilled and slotted rotors?
909LowLife money and time, were the key factors. I might later.
I'm a dumbass just realized the helper was him haha
So can you just take the drums off a 4th gen original rear end an put on a disc for conversion?
DownriverPHA357 I took a 4th gen rear that already had rear disk brakes
@@CamaroMac oh okay okay. If you come across any information share it with us!
Yes you can
Hello i need your help bro, What e-brake cable use ?🥺
@@fredystefanolopezmartinez1777 so both I got have there draw backs, long and have to adjust the holding bracket,
Did the e-brake cables work? I'm in the process of doing my 4th gen swap
Jonathan Hundley yes they did work with a little bit or filing on the rear end side.
@@CamaroMac Thanks for reply. Just wanted to make sure they were long enough to connect to the cable coming from inside.
I have another question. Do I need to get C94597 and BC94597. Or just 2 BC94597
Jonathan Hundley I got both just in case, but getting 2 of one or the other is fine. I do know one was nicer than the other but after I took them out of the boxes , there were no identification for what one was what.
Great info hows it holding up ?
Great, no issues so far
@@CamaroMac keep up the awesome work!!!
