It's hard to choose "the best". Arturo, James Morrison, and Wynton (in no particular order) are all amazing in their own ways. Gods among men! If you search in CZcams for all three names you will see a video of them playing together a while back, it's real cool. For me Wynton wasn't about showing off but about really grooving and it was a sight to see

I think what separates them is the fact that Wynton can change trumpets and perform a flawless Haydn with the NY Philharmonic

He is not only a skillfull, but a clever musician. And for this reason he recognizes the big debt towards the great, immortal, never forgotten Satchmo. Beloved Louis, if you look at us from your paradise, enjoy this heir of yours.

This one has that sweet/greasy/raspy New Orleans character to it, and Mr. Marsalis nails it on the playing style that's pure Satchmo. Very beautifully executed.

Im ashamed we were not raised to love Pops. Playing then listening I found Duke was influenced, Fatha Hines, Billy Holiday, Lester Young, Roy Eldridge and others before I really listened to Satchmo. Thank you Wynton for this and the older I get the more I love him. Mom always liked his singing! Dexter played with him. Satch plays Blues, Satch and Josh, Satch and Duke we saw. On TV.!
