I pray for all people who have musical talent (real talent) to spend their lives playing music, instead of working in an office or selling silly merchandise at the mall. We should consider encourage the true talents.
As a chemotherapy patient this music wipes away the dark cloud that covers me. I feel such joy watching and hearing these super musicians. Thanks for the great post
The great thing is that you walk into any blues bar in any town and very often experience the same thing. No one in this video did anything extremely virtuosic, they all just let that style of music play them. That why it’s so much fun for them and the audience.
❤❤ Excellent performance. I am 70 years old, but when I listened to you, tears came to my eyes. Your orchestra works like the finest Swiss watch. Divine Energy that makes the pulse of my heart beat in sync with your performance!!
Its hard to find a rock Super Star that represents so well those long gone years of super groups and super bands as Eric Clapton ..and still going after all this years
If you think back to the days of the super rock bands what did they all have in common it was also a new marketing strategy by the big promoters , the business men , all of a sudden it went unplugged and the top guitarists such as Clapton, Gary Moore ect reverted to the roots and the roots were blues, it's like music went around in a circle but came back to the grandaddy of all popular music "The Blues" n they all cashed in on it
Eric is gobsmacked by what Wynton is doing on the trumput (1:27 - 1:43) - he stops playing to really enjoy this - his expression is priceless! That was a great video - thanks!
Brilliant - Eric really ought to record and participate in more sessions like this. Lovely to see EC enjoying himself so much as well as enjoying the playing of others in the band. And as for blues/jazz banjo ... amazing. One of the best examples of everyone taking their own solos in turn that I've ever seen - all to the point, on the beat, inventive and not over the top. Superb. Wonderful - made even more interesting by Winton's comments and narration at the end. Thanks for the upload, it's made my day.
Eric's grandfather played dixieland, and Eric, as a kid, sat in on banjo, playing Louis Armstrong Hot 5 and Hot 7 arrangements, so he has an affinity for it.
Ah oui cela faisait vraiment plaisir de voir Mr Clapton prendre autant de joie en participant à cette seccion de grande classe . Merci les vrais artistes vous faites battre nos coeurs 💖🎶💖
So, please BUY some jazz CDs or albums. Man they really really need our support. And go to live jazz and support them with your presence. Sometimes i get a feeling this is the only kind of music that’s real
A Smoking hot performance--what a collection of musicians. Music only ask for our ears to connect with our emotion--down to our very soul. Wow sorry I couldnt be there.
Brilliant, I am lucky enough to have heard Wynton and Taj Mahal play a couple of times. I live near a small village in France called Marciac and for 2 weeks every year we have a jazz/blues festival. One night after the main concert we went to our normal bar we love where the youngsters from our local music college play. Who should walk in but Wynton greeting the owners big hugs, he then started jamming with the kids they all played out of their skins and it is an atmosphere I will remember forever. Such a wonderful person who plays for the love of it and inspires others. Thank you so much.
I used to jam with a few jazz groups, quite a few years ago! I miss it. It's so much fun when a group of great musicians can all get together on a number, it's incomparable!
Hello!!! How are you doing today, please pardon me for intruding into your privacy but I just wanted to know if you’re a fan ? Have a great day… Stay Safe!
Saw Winton and Bradford , Oscar Peterson piano and a string bassiest , in the Gtm of a high school we sat on folder chairs, My friend was an outstand Trumpant play and he drug me to it and I couldn't figure out why this band a big concert hall they blew me away!
That is not merely the blues. That is Dixieland jazz, the original jazz, that came about when European instruments found their way into the brothels and honky-tonks of the late 1800's and early 1900's. The tune they are playing is a blues, and the has the 1, 4, 5 chord structure. But it is not merely the blues, it is Dixieland jazz. The first truly American art form that went around the world. The blues did not at the time. It was not until Dixieland jazz that American music became American music.
The wonderful finale, the CODA at the end delivered by the Host felt inspiring like a Gospel of The Peaceable Paradigm; Musical meditation Testifying and Witnessing in the Blues dialect. Thank you lord for this moment.
To all those who fall into a trance like state when Horns, strings and keyboards grab at the soul ..... and somehow your life is less tough, anxious and tearing at you ..... for a while at least. God bless and thanks to these incredible talents !!! GBjj
This is the best conversation taking place anywhere in el mundo!. Thank you Maestro Marsalis, Maestro Claptonan and every member of this exalted group fab.
If you understand enough both jazz and blues, you know it takes quite some humility and courage for Eric to go and play with those pros at the high level and top form they are, and humility and generosity of them to create that musical landscape of that jazzy-blues well suited for Eric to be able to perform in, and without ever attempting to overshadow or intimidate him with their facility within that landscape. For these reasons, and of course the beautiful music itself, I find this quite moving to watch.
Total respect. I have this recording - one of the best. Can't tell you how many miles I've gone with this recording jammin in the background. It's gotten me there. So true about how musicians are marketed without respect for who they are. If you don't play the game you're out, unless you're extraordinarily lucky. I fell out of it b/c of this - not much of a game player, I guess. So refreshing when a few good ones still manage to slip through anyway! Thanks, guys.
That was fun. Fantastic performance or actually a killer music session and maybe a little schooling on music. Loved all the instruments, you forget how important each one of them are. The horn is a killer instrument it always gives me that old fashion lovely sound. Thank you.♥️✌️
Thanx for providing this wonderful music. Songtitle: Corrine - Corrina (1928) by Bo Chatman, J.Mayo Williams & Mitchell Parish. The guys above are so lucky.
