I feel like people are again creating a story and narrative out of their own interpretation of something not said. Pretty lame this is considered something worth discussing

Casey obviously was right. Last night in Edmonton was all the proof we needed - a 5 goal third period let up by the tired Sabres. So depressing.

If Casey Mittelstadt can raise the standard of Sabres practices by throwing a bit of shade on it then god bless him. Hasnt bad mouth the fans or city so I dont hold any grudges like I do with Ryan O'Reilly and Jack Eichel.

Both Byram and Mittelstadt are turning out to be great adds for both teams, so why not just leave it at that.

That's not really what he is talking about though. The video is about how Sabres coaches run practices.

  • @OptimizeYourHealthPhD

Casey is 100% correct. The conditioning and coaching of the Sabres is severely lacking. You could tell immediately when Bow showed up how light the team looked on their feet with the new addition. They must get rid of Granato and that awful staff to make progress imho And if Adams can't make that decision to fire THE NICE GUY, then ADAMS must go and bring someone like RUFF in to get the ship floating properly. The Sabres have skill, but lack toughness and lack uptempo flow. They are playing sluggish and handicapped. In Edmonton last night that game literally could have been 13 or 14 to 3. UPL made some crazy saves early

They manage games they don’t officiate. Bad calls even out over the long term. At the end of the day good teams score when a bad call goes in their favour and kill off the bad penalties more often than bad teams.
In a playoff series you can argue an official screws a team over because of the sample size , but when you go 12 years missing the playoffs it’s not officials.

A player is never responsible for how practices are run. A player doesn't have that power. If management or coaching staff allows that it's not on the player it's on weak management or coaching staff. It's not Eichel's fault that his team wasn't in a position of strength enough to say "No Jack this is how we do things get in line or get out.". Eichel was the best thing that happened to that poorly run organization. When they finally did put their foot down it was about a surgery situation that was frankly a dumb an ill informed stance to take. Buffalo was wrong.
