I just put balance beads in my toy hauler when I replaced the wheels & tires. The truck shop I take my tires to said they don't balance trailer tires because trailer tires don't need balancing, but this is a toy hauler, not a work trailer. They said they can do balance beads, so I went with that. Haven't tried them yet, hope they work. What I did on my F-450 was put Centramatic balancing rings on the fronts (it's a disc filled with beads that mounts between the wheel and hub). Burned through the first set of front tires on the truck in ~30,000 miles, horrible cupping, causing death wobble. 2nd set has almost 50,000 miles on them, and still looking running good. Just a little feathering, never rotated. The rears now have almost 80k on them, no funny wear, and plenty of life left in them, so I didn't put balancers in back. From what everyone says, the wide-track front suspensions are notorious for that. I highly recommend the Centramatic wheel balancers, they're definitely working, and no worries about moisture!

I’ve ran beads in 37” mud grapplers, and run them in my motorcycle tires since I mount them myself. As well as just in the stock tires on my 1 ton DRW work truck. All of them give smooth ride, even well past 100mph. But like others have said excess moisture in the tires will cause them to not work correctly. But usually a non issue. It takes a lot of moisture.

Good video, I tried airsoft beads on my suv. I removed the lead weights off the wheels and putting a matching weight of beads in each tire. Drives great on the highway without any vibration at various speeds up to and including 80mph. I swear by this method.

put some no name mudders (ebay) on my truck. figured i'd need more than recommended amount of weight so bought a tub of beads(magnum +) and i mounted them myself(tire shops just became very rude it seems). played with the amounts adding more and more until i found the ride satisfactory . so far i'm impressed. yes the cheap mudders did take a lot more than recommended beads but you can get a good ride with them. presently adjusting air pressure to fine tune the ride. now i drive a 21 year old dodge cummins so i'm not interested in driving 80 on the freeway but i can if need be. i do have a vibration at 65 to 68 but that's it and i rarely drive faster than 60

basically you need a cross section of at least 60-65 to have enough sidewall for balance beads to work. Too many people hear about them and try to use them on low profile tires. Also the amount of weight you need is directly related to the weight of the tire/wheel assembly.

Why would the sidewall matter for these?

Have you ran across the new mountain brakes? Any advice on the spring removal and assembly would be killer

I wonder if you throw one of those moisture absorbers in there if it would keep them dry?

Compressed air = moisture…..pump them thru air dryer, helps a bit.

Just put the tire under vacuum for an hour or so. That'll boil all the water out of them

I bought wheels and tires online and had beads installed. So i don't know the material they are made of. But i swear after driving a while. The tires obviously get hot. At like 60mph or over i get rear wobble. So im wondering if the beads are rubber and maluable. After driving 3hrs on the highway i had to stop pretty hard cuz of a traffic jam. And i had bad wobble. So im wondering if the beads were so hot they lost their shape/form and threw off my balance. Scratching my head.

The beads should be glass or ceramic.
