I graduated high school in 1978. These are the cars we drove to school. Every morning we’d get to school early and someone would challenge someone to the 1/4 mile. It was a small school in the country, 57 people in my class but most all guys were gearheads with muscle cars. I had 1972 Firebird

I had a 1971 dodge charger with a 440. It had 59,000 original miles on it when I bought it from a family who drove it every day. That car was a screamer and I’m lucky to be walking around on this earth today. I only lost one race with that car and that was to a 1969 Nova with a big block and 411 gears
Same here, graduated in 80 from a small country school, 42 kids im my class. I had a 73 Roadrunner and a 69 Lemans. Also was a Cuda, Demon, Challenger, BB El Camino, and others in the student parking lot. Fun times

And if you notice it has subframe connectors on it whoever did that car did a good job on it because lots of horsepower will make that car do the twist

The wiper motor isn't installed on the car, makes replacing the wiper motor easy lol

@@Dacman53 better to be safe then to be the dumbass caught in the rain unexpectedly without wipers. Plus some states legally require it even on old cars.

That Challenger is virtual carbon copy of my old 74. Same color, interior, top! Mine had a built 360 as the 340 was history after the 73 model year. Id probably buy that if I didn't already have a 'toy'!!!

Man everytime I see a Classic Challenger it makes me want to trade in my modern Challenger for one of them
I'm looking at the tachometer in high gear or 3rd gear whichever you want to call it the tachometer says 3000 RPM I figure the rear-end gear probably 391 or even 4:10
That classic muscle car lived a fast life. Might be worth it, seems mostly solid and complete, except (probably 4th) motor 😁.
Needs a bit of work, but this will sell fast.

guessing the hirise wont allow room for an air cleaner but that engine wont last long ingesting dirt!
That's one sweet ride . a nice tire smoker also don't need the blower motor working when you can do 60. Mph quick and have the windows down for air. ☺

I think you ought to start offering some 100 point inspections or at least a 10 point..That rear end is gonna be out of 90 weight in 30 more miles. And again the torque converter cover is missing on the transmission. Kind of scary One guy has 200 torque converter covers laying around in his shop.

I hear ya. Do you have to change the K frame on an E body when going from a small block to a big block? I can't remember. It sounds like it would be a good 8.0 bracket car.

I had the 1973 DODGE Challenger I bought it in 1978 in East Mesa Arizona AR a dealership next door to the movie location they filmed Used Cars with Kurt Russel and it was the exact same color same color interior and wheels with the 340 aluminum block all original slap stick on the floor auto, and you can catch that car in the movie used cars at the end of the movie when all of the students start the cars and drive to the car lot . There's 2 clips of it in that scene. I'm strongly thinking about buying this car. I'm on the fence though..also I owned a brand new Z28 in 1980; it was white with 2 tone red stroke stripes 5.7 auto all red interior. And I wanted to know what you did with those 2 Z28s you just had on your lot the white with 2 tone blue stroke stripes and the dark blue one. I'm thinking about buying those, too. I'm on the fence, though; I live in SW Virginia now. Thanks for posting these videos.
What's the box to the right on the passenger side trans break?
A trans brake is an internal part of the transmission, except for maybe a solenoid. That is the MSD 7AL2 ignition control, mostly used on race cars. Lots of different ignition related items can be tied to it. Yeah, on a street car, maybe it should be laid on its side an put in front of the console.

Please someone install a nice white air cleaner element. Dirty ones do not show well. Car deserves it. It will show better and then you know someone cared enough to take care of minor things like this.

You do a good job talking about the car love to own this have to get rid of wife first
This has a lot going for it and the price is reasonable too. You didn't point out the obvious roof dent on the driver's side nor the reproduction fender tag. The fuel pump and braided gas line is bizarre and distracting. The shifter is also clunky and that area of the console looks unfinished, and the MSD module in the passenger well is an amateur hack. Sounds mean and runs strong, so again, a lot going for it if you can live with the dents and paint flaws or are willing to have it redone.
