I’m glad I watched all the way to the end!
The over 76,000 70' Challenger's were sold as compared to less than 27,000 sold in 72'
Bill Mansel - last of the true professional salesmen.
I used to sell cars back in the day that man's methods were truly the way to succeed it is a huge undertaking that I could not pull off and I was good but only Mediocre salesman figure wise.
What an amazing video of a sales person and he makes you feel you can succeed well.
Big Thanx for uploading these vid's and merry Xmas,,I went in one of these on my trip to Canada from UK in 1979,,,that left me with many happy memories also on same trip went in a Road Runner,,,,,I went on to work in an American speed n spares shop and enjoy seeing the cars of my dreams,,,
Boy I would give an arm and a leg to have that car now! Lol...beautiful!
Key to sales..... follow up, follow up, follow up!
The 1970 and 71 Challengers looked better, especially the 70 model . And how sad that the engines went to hell in 72 compared to the engines available in 70/71. By 72 the guts had been ripped out of cars. And performance had been reduced to stripes and fake hood scoops.
letting a 16 year old driving a challenger is just a great idea :)
Great car
I had one Hemi Orange hardtop, black vinyl roof, 340, black interior, automatic.
@Jim Kohler Hemi Orange was the cars color, not the engine size. Engine was a 340.
@Jim Kohler learn how to read
I have one 340 six pack not original to the car but I love it
Man you are lucky to have one, I had a six-pack on top of a '68 440 that was in an R/T Charger with 4-speed pistol grip trans that was badass. As I am sure that you know the 6brl was not available until '69, but we added it and it really made that already quick 440 scream. The only E body car that I have had was a '74 Challenger, but it was just a 318 mill. Still it was cool and I wish that I had it today.
You're one lucky dude!
Yeah it was so much fun to drive man, and it was almost as quick as my 6.1 SRT Challenger that I have now. Although the SRT is pushing around 500hp because it is not stock. But there is just nothing like that raw open exhaust note and sheer power of old American V8,s, especially old Mopar muscle.
Man those are beautiful cool looking too! My nephew owns one srt 392 awesome car!
Nice car and A thumbs up for you.
loved the quiz lol
I just saw you had 383 "Thumbs Up" on the video, and even though nostalgia wanted me to keep that number (383 Magnum!!) the video was so cool I moved you up to 384. Next Stop- 426??😀
Chrysler was WAY ahead of everyone else with Electronic Ignition!!
I never had a challenger or a hemi but I sure had some good dodges let see a 340 Plymouth duster auto. a 360 dodge demon R/T 4 on the floor sure grip rear end 1970 Plymouth cuda R/T 440 six pack pistol grip 4 speed with the sure grip rear end yes I had some great one's C😎😎L no line no bull shit
I like this model more than the 70
by '72 the slant six was 12 years old
Front and the Back are different dont Like!! The 70 are my like!!
weird how when i was young i liked the aar cuda best now i prefer the challengers look
New for 72, emissions controls that turn the car into a pig!
AND THE SALESMAN HAS TO HATE LIFE, EXPECTING PEOPLE TO ASK HIM ALL DAY LONG: WHAT HAPPENED TO THE 400? WHAT HAPPENED TO THE HEMI?, ETC.
Wonder what became of old Bill?
There are no other car and Challenger are the number one!
Is this a set of 4?
Our headline today: Florida Man leaving Florida, threatens family of four at gunpoint to buy a Dodge that will rust away in 3 years, despite what the producer claims.
Leisure suit Bill?
And of course rear ash trays
i wishd id had barracuda. valiant. mustang. beetle. 240z
Does anyone know, why did Chrysler and Ford cease manufacturing the Slant 6 engine?
Ford never had a slant six, but they both got rid of their straight sixes because of mileage and emissions reasons. Ford used theirs until '96, if memory serves.
My Dad's '66 Ford Galaxie 500 2 door had a slant 6 engine, 250 CID if I recall correctly.
Can you explain further, "because of mileage and emissions reasons?" Was the slant 6 poorer mileage and more of a polluter than the V8's of the day?
The Chrysler Corporation were the only company to use a "Slant 6".Ford used Straight 6's. My 1975 Maverick was a 250 c.i. straight 6.The range was 170, 200 and 250. They're great motors that produce good amounts of torque but not a lot of horsepower, plus they use a lot of fuel and most often go to hell after burning out their #1 cylinder.I speak from experience. Hope it helps.
My earlier post was in error. My Dad's '66 Ford Galaxie 500 was a "Big 6," not a "Slant 6" as I had indicated. I was confused with the Slant 6 on our Dodge Dart Swinger (early '70's model).
I don't recall the mileage, but I thought both the "Big 6" and the "Slant 6" were thought to get better millage than the V8's.
The move to FWD also meant the end of the straight 6. It wouldn't fit sideways in the engine compartment.
72 challenger its ok but i perfer a 70 & 71 challenger
By 72 the colors and power were GONE (show me the used car section)
he sounds like jim jones.
LMAO@...2:00...Lets stalk the whole family, even the !6 year olds.
Wow. Vvrrooooom. In 1972. Come 2024 it will be song of " Singer Sewing machine" all will be EV. No kidding. No Vvrrooooom of V8. But slight stitches of sewing machine. Bye, bye Ccchjjryslerrr. CrAzZy.
lol sell a 16 year old a new car. yeah its was a great country at one time. as an adult i have no fools qaundry about my inabilty to buy a new car. not that i want that plastic caccon of electronics.
all bill cares about is getting repeat customers by pretending he cares. lol he's like i call to wish my buyers childern a happy 16th birthday. yeah, i can see the phone call now... happy 16th birthday oh btw did you and your dad talk about buying a car for you from my dealership now that you're of driving age? lol
I think a lot of it would come down to how sincere the customers thought he was. More importantly, if the customer is having problems with the car did he wash his hands of the matter and say contact service or did he actually move forward to make things happen.
Foolish American carmakers dilute and cheapen every Brand and confuse buyers by producing inexpensive base models and expensive options that are needed to get something sexy. Dodge should fully option and stylize every car every time. If that's too much, buy a Plymouth. If that's not enough, buy a Chrysler 300.

Bill, you’re a nice guy and all, but quit calling me all the time. And Junior wants you to stop sending him birthday cards, okay. 😂
